8/11/2022 - this device is amazing!! Be sure that when you use it, you are saying “No!” At the same time you click the button. This will train the dog to associate you saying the command “No!” with the uncomfortable sound of the device. Eventually, you won’t need the device, and just need to say “No!” for the dog to stop barking. I’ve used this with a lot of success to train my pups not to jump on people, as well as not to bark in certain situations or any other instances I need to say “No!”. Most recently I used this to help an elderly woman with a chihuahua that has a bite history. I only had to press the button once and it immediately stopped the chihuahua’s aggressive growling and barking toward us. 1/25/20- it’s been about a week since I used this. I took my dogs to run errands and as I was on the road I realized I forgot this back at home. To my surprise I went through the CVS drive thru, my dog barked once and I said “no” And he stopped immediately. I couldn’t believe it!! This is huge. He never listens when it comes to barking. I went through another drive thru to grab a coffee and not even a peep! This is just after a week or so of training my dog with this contraption. Again, I don’t know how it works. I know it does work, and my dog does not like the sound at all. While training, UPS came to the door and my dog started barking non stop. I clicked this device for a second and my dog immediately stopped and turned around, in almost a startled way. That said, I try not to use this too much. But again, it does work. My neighbor said it’s like those contraptions for mice. Well I bought a few of those pest control devices and can confirm that they do not work, but this anti barking device really works. The only thing that would make this absolutely perfect is if it were smaller and could fit on a key chain so that I don’t forget it and it doesn’t take so much room in my pocket. But like I said, I didn’t even need to use it yesterday. Sorry to go on so much about this but just surprised and grateful that I purchased something like this at a reasonable price and it works!! Which is kind of sad, when I think about it. Don’t hesitate to purchase. It’s a game changer. So much less stressful about taking my dog out or holding a conference call from home. Worth every penny!! Completely amazing. Original review: Unbelievable!!!! Incredible!!!! I cannot believe this actually works!! My dog 12lb Morkie is the love of my life! He is perfect in every way. His only quirk is that he is very protective and loves the sound of his bark. I take him to the grocery story and he barks non stop at the people walking in the parking lot. I take him through a drive thru and he barks non stop at the cashier. I walk him outside and he barks at neighbors. I tell him to stop, to sit...he just doesn’t listen once he starts barking (despite being a really smart dog and knowing lots of tricks). His bark is ear piercing and a bit embarrassing. I really thought this was going to be a waste of money, but decided to take the chance of losing $30. I am so glad I did! I tested it in parking lots, the CVS drive thru, and just now with my neighbors!! With one click, and the command “no” he stops barking!!! I can’t believe it! It’s a miracle. I was actually able to have a conversation with my neighbor while my pup sat quietly by my side. I have no idea how this works or why. I pray that it is not doing anything harmful to my dogs ears, brain, or nervous system. I truly only click it for a split second and it works. So amazing!!

So I purchased the Modus in the hopes that I can stop my small dog from barking non stop when anyone or anything can be seen in front of our home. Working from home means I am constantly having remote meetings and having my dog constantly barking in the background was causing problems. So I got the Modus and my hope was that every time my dark starts barking and does not listen to my "No" command, that I would use it to get them to stop and then I would repeat this process. The first time I used the Modus, I pointed it at her, said "No", and pressed the button for 1 second and my dog stopped immediately. I was very surprised and pleased. I then told my dog she did a good job and gave her a treat. The next day, she started barking again, I pointed the device at her, said "No", and pressed the button for 1 second and she stopped barking again. I was loving this thing. I then told my dog she did a good job and gave her some love. That's it. From that point on, I only had to point the device at my dog, say "No" and she stopped without me even pressing the button. She associates the word "No" and the pointing of the Modus for her to stop barking. The only downside is that I may only ever use this device for a total of 2 seconds. lol This device simply works and has helped me train my dog with just two instances of using it. Your dog may be more stubborn than mine so results will vary, but if you use it as a training device, associate the command to stop barking with the Modus, your dog will learn that barking is an unacceptable behavior. My next goal is to have the Modus in my pocket and have my dog stop at my command of "No" without seeing the Modus at all. If she does not, I will press the button but keep the Modus hidden. With that said, I do encourage my dog to bark when she hears sounds because it's a good warning for us. So I always check what she is barking at, I tell her "Good Girl" and then tell her "No". No more barking, she looks at me, stops barking, and I give her some love. Simply amazing product.

I have two little dogs who bark at every dog we see on our daily walks. One of my dogs also barks at people walking down the street, people on bikes/scooters, people standing outside their house, people at the park, and sometimes even birds (he's sweet but not too smart). I bought this trainer to try to stop the barking during our walks. The first time I used it, my dogs were barking at a dog that was behind a wooden fence, so we couldn't see it. This stopped all three dogs from barking immediately, with one push of the button. The other few times I used this trainer, my dogs were barking at other dogs being walked along the street. My well-behaved dog stopped barking fairly quickly, but my dog who barks at everything gets into such a frenzy that either he can't hear the sound from the trainer or he chooses to ignore it. Either way, it's clear that this just won't work for him, so I returned it. The return was quick and easy (took it to an Amazon return counter at Kohl's) and I received my refund immediately. I would say that this product might work for some dogs who bark but otherwise remain pretty calm (although I'm not sure it's worth the $30 I paid for it), but it's not usable for dogs who really get worked up. If they're scared of everything and/or highly territorial, like my dog is, working with a professional trainer would probably be better.

I was amazed at how quickly this worked for me. My 12-year-old dog had gotten into the habit of barking early in the morning just after I would sit down to take the first sip of my morning coffee. What a jarring experience so early in the morning. So, I decided to try this product. When he started that morning barking, I said "Quiet" to him twice, and he ignored my command and continued barking. So, I pressed the bark control device while saying "Quiet." His ears went back and he stopped barking immediately. The next morning when he started that barking again, I said "Quiet." He looked at me and immediately stopped. Later, I tried the same technique when he started digging on his bed. I said "Stop" twice. He kept digging. I pulled out the controller and issued the "Stop" command. He stopped digging and I immediately released the trigger. Now, days later, all I have to do is issue the verbal command to stop or be quiet, and he obeys. I haven't had to use the device again yet to stop those unwanted behaviors. Amazing! He also escaped from the house one afternoon when a workman left the front door open. I grabbed the controller and ran out after him. I pressed the trigger on the device while calling his name. He ran right up to me and sat at my feet. I said "good boy" and gave him a treat. The next morning, I let him out. He ventured out of my sight range and didn't respond to my calls. So, I called his name while pressing the button on the device. He immediately came back to the door from wherever he was. This product worked for me after only a few uses. I recommend this product with no reservations.

I don't understand how this is supposed to work. We needed something to train our dog (we reward him for positive things, but for negative things ....) However, this does nothing. He isn't phased by it at all. My neighbors let me try it on their dog, and it didn't work either. Sure, its "easy to use" and has a "long battery life", but thats because it does nothing! Since I ordered during the pandemic, it understandably took forever to arrive (remind me why I pay an Amazon Prime membership?), so now having to order something else will also take a long time! Meanwhile, we try to use other methods to teach him not to bark or jump on strangers with commands, a clicker, and treats but; there has got to be a better solution! *Update* Since struggling with getting this device to work on my dog, I have since noticed our Australian Shepherd mix pretty much ignores a lot of sounds which annoy other dogs. Is it his breed? His size? His personality? I am not quite sure. But, the seller has been fabulous to work with in reaching out to me, and I believe that type of service deserves to be recognized. Also, I wouldn't be in a hurry to discount how well this device works, as I believe smaller breeds might certainly be more keen to respond. Not sure if any other Aussie parents have troubles with their stubborn canine child.

UPDATE : This device still is working well as a help with my dogs . And customer service is excellent . I can now just say the words “click!” Or “clicker!” As a threat and they usually reduce their barking without me pressing the button . One dog , the younger (maybe she hears it better?) and less crazy one is more receptive to it . If a dog is right in front of them they will bark through the use of the device , but things are better . This is actually working for my BARKING little dogs ! I’ve struggled for 5 years with two Pekingese who just go crazy and bark at people and dogs in the car , on walks , in the house ....it’s been a real burden . I have bought spray collars and bark collars that vibrate and shock ...I hate those , I just can’t shock them , it seems so barbaric and I would never want to leave the collar on them when I left the house . Well... I stumbled upon this ultrasonic device during an Amazon lightening deal and decided to try it ....it actually works ! It has been very helpful , dogs are much quieter. One thing I don’t like is that one dog is more receptive to it and I hate pressing the button and it affecting her when she’s being a good girl already and the other one is still barking . This was a great purchase . It hasn’t totally solved the problem but it has improved it .

We rescued an ~4yr old German Shepherd from the local Animal Shelter a few weeks ago. She's still settling in but we have learned she's very obstinate, doesn't respond to her name, and is very reactive with other animals. We spent a couple hundred dollars on plexiglass to protect our living room picture window from her jumping at dogs, cats, and squirrels walking by. I had high hopes this device would help. I used it as prescribed. The very first time she was crazy barking at the window, I said, "no bark" and pressed the button (I was about 2' from her). The device clicked and the blue light came on. She immediately glanced in my direction for a split second then resumed the behavior. I kept at it to be consistent but with the exception of 2-3 times of appearing to notice the noise, she didn't respond at all, just kept barking/lunging. It seems from other reviews this has worked for others. It's not too expensive so it may be worth a try but for our dog, it was a bust.

Let me be clear, NOT ALL DOGS HEAR THIS DEVICE. In the past 3 days, our Doberman, and our Staford Terrier aka Mini Pitty have quivered and immediately left the room, our English Bulldog, Bloodhound and Terrier have not been phased at all. Results will vary. Breeds will vary, dogs mentality will vary on how they respond. I had a device a few months ago that was just the opposite. The Terriers reacted and stopped barking, the Bloodhound would go to his kennel. There is NO device on the planet that will stop every breed, it's simple Science. This one works on my intended pet that needs it the most and that's ok. Remember that when ordering it OK.

Ticks all the boxes. I don't know what thickness means but it sits nicely in the hand and is not too heavy to slip into the small pocket of a lightweight coat and sports gear, although it would be uncomfortable in the poacher's pocket of your jeans. Effective at range, it will stop your dog dead in its tracks and readily enforces your command. If you want to become a dog whisperer then definitely buy this. My field tests confirm it is ideal for training your animal, quietening noisy neighbours' dogs, and disrupting rampaging pets of irresponsible owners. If only it worked as well on people !
