Dark Heaven Legends Classics: Skeletons

Want a 3-pack of metal skeleton minifigures? This is a solid get: a bowman, a sword and shield dude, and a halberd wielder also with shield. The figs are thin but solid. The bases could be a little bigger, but they stand on their own just fine, and they can be easily attached to a larger plastic base with the right glue. Some extra bits from the mold on the underside of the base need trimming/filing to make them truly flat, but this is also easily accomplished. The level of detail isn't as fine as some plastic molded figures I've seen, but it's still very good and they look good with or without painting. Overall, this pack is a for value and solid addition to my collection of monster figurines, and both I and my players really like them. I bought 2 sets and will get more when/if I need a bigger skeketal army.

SIZE: Reaper's Dark Heaven Legends miniatures are manufactured in the 25–35 mm scale. The skeleton with the bow is ~41 mm (1 5/8") tall (including the bow). The skeleton with the sword is ~38mm (1 1/2") tall (including the sword). The skeleton with the "halberd" is ~45mm (1 3/4") tall (including the weapon). MATERIAL: These miniatures are made from a tin-based metal alloy. STRUCTURE: All the miniatures had some mold lines on their bases that I removed using a utility knife. After removing them, the miniatures were pretty stable. I glued them on 1-inch washers to give them even more stability. The skeleton with the sword had its weapon slightly bent (see attached photos) but fortunately I was able to bend it back (see instructions below). The halberd was also noticeably bent but I was able to fix that too. DETAILS: The miniatures are very detailed for their size. The shield of the skeleton with the sword is smooth, but you can add some details to it when you paint it. HOW TO FIX BENT WEAPONS: If the weapons of you skeletons are bent, don't worry, this is pretty common: miniatures are removed from the mold when they are still hot and they are handled with thick gloves. For this reason, the less robust parts of the miniatures can be bent in the process; fortunately, you will likely be able to fix them by following these instructions: 1- Dunk the bent part of the miniature in hot water for 10-15 seconds. 2- Use your fingers to apply pressure in small increments. Don't apply more pressure than is necessary. 3- Let the miniature rest until it's completely cold. If you hear some cracking during the process, it's normal, don't worry! If you need to use pliers, be extra gentle and make sure to add some padding to prevent them from marking the surface of the miniature. If you have followed the instructions above, but you still couldn't fix the miniatures, you should probably request a refund.

Perfect for my collection and for making more molds if necessary. Especially the hard to find, basic, skeleton Archer lol.

My husband loves collecting and painting miniatures. This miniature is of good quality.

These were all super great. Good detail, heavy/sturdy, and the likes. However, the only thing was the skeleton holding the sword and shield is really back-heavy and off balance. He barely stands up by himself so I had to file his base down to make him uneven so he would stand straight without falling over since his back side is heavier.

Nice figures and easy to paint!

Pretty good molds. Their bases were a little uneven but after shaving them down two out of the three stand without buying basis for them.
