EKWB EK-Leak Tester

Used this when building my first water cooling loop and thankfully found out one of my connections wasn’t solid enough before I added any water. I then tightened the tubes and tested again to find no more leaks. Thank you EK for giving me the piece of mind I needed to fill up my PC for the first time. Will highly reccomend this to anyone building a water cooling loop for the first time or professionals testing their work on a routine basis. Super easy to use but I do want to mention that you must have a decent quality plug to test connections or your pressure will always drop (I tried using one that came with my radiator to no avail). You can buy them for like $7 for a 4 pack so it’s not a huge deal.

I got this after watching a random build guide on YouTube, didn't think it was going to be necessary but man was I wrong. I have worked on my build for about 2 weeks now, and finally got all the hard tubing cut, bent, and in place. I was so excited I almost forgot to leak test. I slapped on the leak tester on my fill port, and no matter how hard I pumped the needle wouldn't move at all. I was sure all my tubes were in place and properly sealed with fittings, so I started looking around for issues. I found my drain valve was set to open (that would've been a nightmare to fix). However that wasn't the issue. After being stumped, I just did the hard thing -- tear all the tubes off and start testing each individual component for issues. Didn't find anything. On a side note, I should have done that from the start, before putting any tubes on. So i start adding tubes one at a time, leak test for a few seconds, then add another. I got to my radiator tubes and wouldn't you know it, of the 4 tubes, 2 of them had major leak issues. I think it was a combination of not having them sized quite right and not entering the fitting at a perfect perpendicular angle (unfortunately I ran out of tubing so I was trying to make what I had cut work -- lesson learned!). Without this I would have leaked all over my case and components, as the radiator fittings are positioned at the top. I can't recommend this item enough. As a side note, someone else mentioned painting the needle white and I highly recommend to do so. The cover for the pressure gauge pulls right off (it's not glued or sealed or anything), just give it a little twist and pull. I used a silver sharpie, worked like a charm.

It's very simple to set-up and use to determine if there are any leaks in your loop. I would consider this a must-have for any watercooling build. There are other methods that one could use in place of this tool, however the EK leak tester comes with all the fittings required to quickly test for leaks. No more running the loop with water while fastidiously scanning all connection points for leaks, fearing major component damage if liquid touches any electrical components. Highly recommend.

I have used it to put 2 systems together so far. Once when leak testing there was a minor leak. Whenever I read about someone having water/coolant leak in their case I am thankful I got this. I just wish it came with several connectors. It has a g1/4" thread but it would have been nice to get a barbed fitting with it.

Hi. This thing is an absolute must have item for anybody building a custom loop, it literally takes out all of the guess work and can save you days of work and frustration. I have leak tested everything in the build I'm working on and quickly found out that my stop fittings are faulty, so I could use some different ones and get right back to work without ever filling it. No leaks, no spills and no risks. I can't recommend this product enough.

Essential for loop building. IGNORE THE GREEN AND RED ZONE ON THE GAUGE, it’s way too high for a loop! Even EK guides warn about putting too much pressure in a loop. 0,3 is all the pressure you need to test a loop. Also, use a couple of fittings and a length of soft tubing. Trying to attach this inside of the case is near impossible with that bulky gage. You need tubing to extend its reach. If your running hard tubing, you might have some challenges testing different points in the loop. Super solid construction, EK is top quality stuff.

If you want to save time, buy this. Works as advertised without the hassle of testing the loops for leaks 24 hours. Very well build. Tried it on both of my custom loops computers and no complaints. Pump it, lock the valve, turn on the 15 minutes timers. Walk away. Then come back if the indicator hasn't move. You're golden!

it's a good (not great) way to check your loop for leaks, BUT, and this is a big but, if there is an air leak, it does not necessarily mean you will have a water leak. also - the scale makes you think that you need to have a pressure of 0.5-0.75 psi (the green section) but in fact, the loop will not be above 0.3 psi -and that is the max and you will get it only if the temp will rise to over 80c - so the average pressure that you need to test is up to 2.5 psi (which I had a small air leak but no water leak), EVEN MORE - you can damage your CPU water block or the radiator or the water reservoir if you put to much pressure on the loop (I damaged a water flow indicator). so for ~30$ you can consider it to check your loop, I paid more and I think I didn't get my money's worth. it's very heavy and doesn't have rotary connections so if you don't have spare connectors or a very large PC case it will be difficult to attach it to your loop.

As a bonus, it is now also a collectible from a horribly mismanaged company circling the drain

Ich habe diesen Leak-Tester gekauft, um meine erste Custom-Wasserkühlungslösung bestehend aus 3 Radiatoren, CPU-Block, digitalem und analogem Durchflussmesser, Ablassventil und natürlich einem AGB auf Dichtigkeit zu testen. Dazu habe ich meinen Kreislauf erst einmal in 3 etwa gleichgroße/komplizierte Teile unterteilt, deren Ende dann vor dem Verbinden mit einem Verschlussstopfen verschlossen und an deren anderen Ende die Pumpe jeweils mit einem Stück Restschlauch verbunden und insgesamt 0.6 bar auf das System gegeben und das Ganze dann jeweils 1 Stunde (e.g. während des Mittagessens stehen lassen). Nachdem alle 3 Teile diese 0.6 bar perfekt gehalten haben, konnte ich sie bestens Gewissens zum Gesamtkreislauf verbinden. Am Ende konnte ich damit im Gesamtkreislauf auch tatsächlich ein kleines "Leak" finden, dass sich in der Form abzeichnete, dass ich bei einem Druck von 0.7 bar dann tatsächlich nach mehreren Stunden auf 0.5 bar fiel. Hier stelle sich allerdings heraus, dass dies mein Heatkiller AGB mit Schnellverschluss war, der zumindest bei Luft und dem Gegenüber dem normalen Betrieb um ein vielfaches höherem Druck wohl nur 99.99% Dicht zu sein scheint. Zur Sicherheit habe ich den Kreislauf dann auch testweise eine Weile auf dem Kopf betrieben und hier hielt der AGB dann auch 100%ig dicht, 0.6bar Luftdruck und 0.1 bar Wasserdruck sind dann halt nicht direkt vergleichbar ;-). In jedem Fall war ich sehr froh... gerade bei der ersten WK.... dieses Hilfsmittel zur Hand zu haben und so vor dem ersten Befüllen mit Wasser dem Ganzen sehr positiv entgegen zu blicken und mir keine Sorgen machen zu müssen, dass dort etwas auf die Grafikkarte, die ja imo höher gehandelt werden als ein Barren Gold, tropfen könnten ;-). Kann ich jedem nur empfehlen, der auf Nummer sicher gegen möchte.

Le produit a avoir si on fait du montage de water cooling custom. Sa permet de tester l’étanchéité de la boucle avant sa mise en eau. On vient monter en pression et on regarde que le mano ne baisse pas. Permet d’éviter des mauvaises surprise
