A part look like it is missing from the set in the pic

The part missing in the picture is the holder that holds a drafting ink pens. The pens are not included with this set, but the holder should be. When the set I ordered came, it included the pen holder. I had not noticed the missing part when I ordered it.

can you ise the adapter with the staedtler fineliners

I don't use the Staedtler's fine liners, specifically. However, the adapter is nearly universal and I can say with confidence that it will accommodate nearly any pen you want to use.
