Some people said that work and some that didn't..will it works on my maximus x formula? Thanks

I am using it on a Maximus Hero X. Only 1 of a pair of USB 3 ports plugged into this cable is working. Both the USB 3 ports work when plugged into a normal 3.0 socket on the motherboard so it is the CY USB header cable that is faulty. The manufacturer has not given a sensible reply to my problem. I think that either their connection design is flawed or the cable fault occurred during manufacture and it was not tested before being despatched. I therefore cannot recommend this product until the manufacturer can deliver a working replacement to me.

I have a front panel hub that has SD card readers, 2 x USB3 ports and a USB-C port. Its cable is a USB 20pin. Can I use all the ports with this?

This extension allows an Asus motherboard USB 3.1 header to be used as a USB 3.0 header. If you have USB 2.0 ports on the same hub probably will not work.

How can it not work for usb 2.0 when usb 3.1 spec supports 2.0 also? not usb compliant?

It can, but you need a usb 2.0 header to 3.1 adapter.
