Room on the Broom

What a bewitching delight! I had the absolute pleasure of reading "Room on the Broom" to my niece's class, and I can't begin to express how much everyone adored it. This enchanting children's book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler has quickly become a classroom favorite, and for excellent reasons! From the moment we opened the book, we were whisked away into a whimsical world filled with spells, teamwork, and friendship. The vibrant illustrations by Axel Scheffler are nothing short of enchanting, bringing the characters to life with every turn of the page. The students were captivated, wide-eyed with wonder. "Room on the Broom" is not just a story about a witch and her companions; it's a story about sharing, helping others, and the power of friendship. It teaches children valuable lessons about kindness and acceptance in a way that is accessible and engaging. The combination of an engaging narrative, memorable characters, and gorgeous illustrations ensures that this book is a true gem in the world of children's literature. A must-have for any child's bookshelf, and a bewitching addition to the classroom.

I love this book. I love reading this book to kids. Kids love this book. Get the book and watch the animation. It is such a pleasure to read. Truly magical.

Great book! Should be on everyone’s Halloween book list.

We LOVE LOVE LOVE this book. 🧹💜 It has been a favorite in our house for years and somehow my kids never get tired of it. The rhymes are so fun to read out loud, the illustrations are bright and whimsical, and the story has that perfect mix of sweet and just a little spooky that makes it extra magical around Halloween. 🎃👻 The witch and her cat pick up friends along the way and my kids always giggle at the silly moments and cheer at the happy ending. It is such a heartwarming story about kindness, friendship and teamwork, all wrapped up with a flying broomstick and a friendly dragon. 🐉✨ It has become a bedtime classic but honestly we pull it out year round because the kids love chanting along with the rhymes. It is also short enough to read before bed without turning into “one more story” negotiations, yet still feels like a full adventure. 💤📚 If you want a read aloud that your kids will ask for again and again, and one that you will not mind reading on repeat, this one is pure magic. Highly recommend for ages 2 to 6, but honestly it is a hit for kids and parents alike. 💛 Helpful tip: There is also a short animated film based on this book that is just as charming and makes for a fun watch after reading together. 🎥

"Room on the Broom" is a delightful children's book that tells the charming and magical story of a kind witch who invites various animals to join her on her broomstick, despite its limited space. As a psychologist and writer, I appreciate the psychological and literary elements within this story. The theme of inclusion and the value of forming friendships with those who are different from us is a valuable lesson for young readers. The repetition and rhyming text in the book also make it engaging and enjoyable to read aloud, which can be beneficial for young children's language development. The illustrations by Axel Scheffler are beautifully done and complement the text perfectly, adding to the overall appeal of the book. The story's humor and sense of adventure make it a captivating read for children and parents alike. "Room on the Broom" is a well-crafted and heartwarming children's book that combines a valuable message of inclusion with engaging storytelling and delightful artwork. It is a wonderful addition to any child's library and provides an opportunity for meaningful discussions about friendship and kindness.
