I am trying to achieve the luster of current gold light fixtures on a shiny brass one. Will this work to tone down shiny brass?

I used it on brass door fixtures. They have been outside for two months and still look great.

How much time should I wait between coats ?

When applied as an even wet coat, sufficient to coat but not run, you can recoat within 30 minutes. Longer dry times are fine, as there is no time limit between coats.
