Emily's Balloon

This is a beautiful and elegant book, and it made a perfect gift for a little girl named Emily (the character even looks a lot like the real Emily). She loved having it read to her (she's three). Very nice story.

Sweet and suspenseful and age appropriate for any little one. Beautiful artwork, we just love this artist.

Such a lovely story and beautiful illustrations. It's a treat to read every time and my kids just love it. There is a gentle rhythm to the story that keeps my kids transfixed.

We bought this book for a girl named Emily, but I'm hesitant to give it to her. The illustrations are sweet and charming, but the overall plot is a bit sad. Emily loses her balloon and is sad at the end. The idea, I'm guessing is to help children deal with loss, but it seemed too heavy for my tastes.

This is a well-written story of a young toddler who spends the afternoon with her new yellow balloon. As any parent of a toddler will agree, balloons are such an amazingily simply toy for young ones to watch and enjoy. My young son had this simple text memorized after just two readings so I now get to enjoy him reading this one to me. Beautifully illustrated.

My 4 year old granddaughter likes this book! I do too. A touching story, simply told, and beautiful, visually gentle, illustrations, that fit the mood of the story so well.

my toddler loves balloons and i love art so this is a win win. i can read this story over and over again and i get a little eye candy in the process while my toddler gets what she loves...balloons!

Balloon loving children will love this book which is perfect for toddlers. Little Emily gets a balloon, has it carefully tied to her finger and then has a wonderful time playing with it at home. Her mom ties the balloon to a spoon to stop it from going up to the ceiling and it becomes a kind of playmate for Emily who takes it outside, makes it a headdress and plays house. When a big gust of wind tangles the balloon up in a tall, tall tree Emily is sad and tells of all the things she wanted to do with the balloon - eat together, put on pajamas and brush teeth then go to sleep. Mummy promises to get the balloon the next day and Emily looks out the window to see the balloon looking just like the moon. The illustrations are simple and sweet too.

This is the sweetest book ever. The illustrations are adorable and the story is simple yet touching. I cant wait to read it to my two little girls.
