QOTD: “Sharing a room with the person you want most is like sharing a room with an open fire.”
“Carry On”~By Rainbow Rowell⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“Wayward Son”~By Rainbow Rowell⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️~”You were the sun and I was crashing into you”. A super duper enjoyable magical read about a fictional character in a real world ❤️~ “Carry On” & “Wayward Son” is Book 1 & 2 respectively of the Simon Snow series. If you’ve read “Fangirl” by the author, Simon Snow features as a fictional character. In “Carry On”, Simon Snow is bought to life and it involves a whole world.~In “Carry On”, the plot revolves around Simon Snow who studies at a magical school- Watford. He has some extraordinary powers and is trying to figure out his purpose of being. Simon has an adorable best friend named Penelope, a girlfriend named Agatha with whom his relationship isn’t quite on good terms. He has a room mate named-Baz whom he hates since forever. Things change when Baz’s dead mother shares a cryptic message with Simon. Now Simon is helping Baz along with Penelope and Agatha to find out underlying hidden secrets about Watford.~ The adventure continues in book no. 2- “Wayward Son”. Agatha has moved to America. Penelope wishes to travel to America to see her boyfriend and takes along with her Simon and Baz. Things change when Agatha is in trouble and is in the company of a secret community. The adventure from UK to America is phenomenal and a perfect entertainer!~ This is such a fun read series by Rainbow Rowell. I throughly enjoyed both the books ❤️ I loved all the characters, the plot, the magical elements. It’s like living along with the characters. I can’t wait to read book no.3 -“Anyway the wind blows”.~ If you like to read magically fantasy books. Definitely read this one!

Un-put-down-able. And so much fun.
4.5 StarsFirst of all, what is it with people calling this book a Harry Potter rip-off. Yes, it has many similarities. But that's the whole point! How do people not get that? It's infuriating.Moving on...Remember how sometimes you have a couple of hours of free time before a very busy week and you start a book thinking you'll finish it slowly and then end up avoiding everything important to finish the book first?Sorry for that run-on sentence, but you get what I mean right? Well, this was that book for me. I started this in the evening 3 days before my exams and spend the entire next day finishing it. It was just so good and interesting and addicting, I couldn't put it down.I loved this book. It has great characters that are very likable. I loved Penelope and her nonchalant attitude towards rules. I loved Simon and Baz and their complex relationship. I didn't like Agatha but I don't think she was there to be liked. Too self-absorbed.The writing is great and the pace was relentless (mainly after the first part) and the story was engaging. The only problem I had, was that there wasn't enough chemistry between Simon and Baz for love. For the beginning of a relationship, it was fine. But I think the author rushed into "love".Overall, this was a great and entertaining read and I enjoyed it a lot. I highly recommend it. This is my second favourite Rainbow Rowell book, after Eleanor and Park.

un, entertaining and light urban fantasy with lovely M/M romance
Carry On is intriguing and light urban fantasy that revolves around Simon Snow who is chosen to save the Magick world from an enemy who is sucking magic from the world. The story is about friendship, ghost story, love, revolution, obsession, revenge, and love.Writing is witty, entertaining, fast paced, and multiple narratives from the perspectives of Baz, Penelope, Agatha, and mainly Simon. There is also an intermittent ghost perspective that made the story more interesting. This is based on ‘Fangirl’ book’s main character’s fanfiction series. I haven’t read it yet but I think not knowing anything about this world and characters before added more mystery and intrigue to story and kept me wanting to know characters and world more. That synopsis is perfect. I enjoyed the beginning with the introduction to characters and Watford School of Magicks with Harry Potter vibe. The setting or the idea is similar but that’s where the similarity ends. This is a lot different than Harry Potter with weird and amusing magical phrases and this is on the lighter side. Characters are the charm of the book. They literally keep the plot going and main characters grow on you as the story progresses. The world is interesting and different from all magical world I have read so far. I liked how magic worked for the mages and how anyone who aren’t from the line of mages could have it or be born with it, portrayed like an atmosphere, tied to the places, and how normal people are important to Magick world. It was amusing and also brilliant how they created spells with phrases, songs, and rhymes. More famous words among normals and in the world, stronger the spell. I loved that part but the world isn’t that developed. I kept feeling there is something missing with the world.Apart from the characters, best part of the book is ghost story and romance. I’m definitely jumping on the ship of SNOWBAZ. I loved how their relationship changed from nemesis, ready to cut each other’s throat to in love and can’t get enough of each other. It’s cuddly romance. I loved how they understand each other and stayed by each other’s side even after the big revelation. The mystery of who is humdrum, how he came into existence and how Simon is so powerful, the secrets of the Mage, and what villain is planning is all another best part of the book. All twists and turns are well written. Some I could see coming while some are surprising. Climax is amazing and action packed. Everything happens too fast from this point. Lot of things are revealed here and I liked that last battle but end somehow felt dull as characters didn’t talk about what they discovered and they didn’t react to all revelations as I was expecting. I hope they do in next book of the series. Why 3.5 stars-The beginning is great but we are plunged into the world with almost no information. World is revealed bits by bits and it sure makes story interesting but at the same time it gives the feeling of nothing is happening for long time. Story actually picks up pace and becomes more interesting once they start working on who is responsible for Baz’s mother’s death that is around page 150.I still don’t get why Simon was with Agatha. She didn’t add much to story and she is coward. She literally turned her face when Simon was in trouble adn she even refuse to help him in their face. What kind of girlfriend and friend acts like that! I know she doesn’t like magic or being in world of magic that is full of danger so why she was trying to hit on Baz! And when Simon started being friendly with Baz she had problem because Baz is dangerous! It doesn’t make sense. It also makes baseless love triangle.Like I said plot and world isn’t that strong. And I didn’t like the end or the way it ended without any reactions or discussions from character. One last thing there isn’t much exploration on Simon’s bisexuality. His change in behavior towards Baz and feelings felt too sudden. One minute he hated Baz, didn’t trust him and next he is kissing him and after that he is so much into Baz. I don’t get when he realised he liked Baz in that way.I could see why fans of author didn’t like this much.Overall, Carry On is enjoyable, fun, entertaining and light urban fantasy with lovely M/M romance and Harry Potter vibe.

Absolutely addicting and fun to read!
Gay- enemies to lovers trope, lgbtq rep, magical with a fascinating plot and characters that will make their place in your heart forever? pick up this book. This book was such a comforting and soft kind of read. I was immersed from the start. it did feel a bit dragged out in the beginning but all the mysteries kept me hooked and craving for more!I feel that the plot was exciting and very fascinating and the writing style was comprehensible and smooth. This book has that gay - enemies to lovers, yearning for each other, idiots in love trope. I very much adored it. Sinow is a cute fluffball dork and i just love him, a lot. Oh and Baz Pitch is the character that comes off as arrogant and rude but by the end of the book, you would want him to be your bestfriend.this is not a HP fanfic. JKR could NEVER.

Absolutely fantastic! (No spoilers)
To begin with, Carry On had a wonderful and 'magickal' storyline, everything about the book was superbly fantastic. I did not find myself losing interest at any point, which is great given that in many of the books some of the chapters are simply fillers. Now onto the characters, I absolutely love the relationship Simon and Baz have. There might not be any character I hate, (yes, not even the antagonist), and I like how the book was not in just the perspective of the protagonist, Simon, but also of about every side character. The plot was well built, and the book is surely a must read if you’re a fan of fantasy and queer fiction!

Rainbow Rowell never ceases to amaze. She admitted to it being a 'Romance'
Rainbow Rowell never ceases to amaze. She admitted to it being a 'Romance', but it is so much more than that. 'Carry On' explores the world of magic in a whole different way. It's refreshing and creative. I've heard people saying that it's a lot like harry potter but it's not! We didn't have popular catchphrases as magic words in Harry Potter. The credit of this ingenious idea goes to Rainbow Rowell.I screamed with joy and excitement when the love triangle was disclosed. Trust me, it was truly a love triangle. Figure that out!My favorite character in the whole book was Baz. He was snarky with the right amount of sass.I had so many feels reading this book. It was really sad at times, yet infused with so much tender romance and love between the main lovebirds. The ending was both sad and happy leaving behind some unspoken secrets and loose ties. That's what has made this book perfect.I would highly recommend this book to everyone. Don't waste your time and READ THIS BOOK!

Disappointing
Carry On is a fantasy story about the life of a young magician called Simon who is believed to be the Chosen One who can save the world of magic from Insidious Humdrum, an evil force. Simon along with his friends Penny and Baz (an vampire cum magician) set to defeat the evil force and save the world. Now this book took me by surprise because I expected it to be a great read but it turned to be a okay read... I loved the chemistry between Simon and Baz (my first experience reading a gay love story but loved it) along with the friendship between Penny and Simon. I mean Penny is a friend to die for. In terms of characterisation I felt Simon’s character was flat but loved Baz and Penny’s character. The overall story was okay... So will I read its Sequel.. Probably not🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️

Superb book
The book is set in an alternate reality where wizards walk secretly the earth. The plot revolves around the thrilling adventures of Simon, who is half wizard half human, in this whimsical academy. Much as I loved this book, the first pages felt a bit of a mixed blessing, having a low start, a gentle introduction and a premise rather similar to other celebrated saga—striking a balance between the already stablished stereotypes and a mind-blowing originality. In my humble opinion, what sets this novel apart from others with similar narrative are the well-crafted characters. It was pleasantly surprising that the author does not fail to introduce and normalize Simon as a LGBTQ character, a typology that on recent years have almost created a genre of its own, but without making this feature the be all and end all of the story. The more I dove into it, the more I realize I was about to be struck by a cliff-hanger ending with a shocking twist in the tail. And, trust me, it does surprise. Were I to sum up “Carry on”, it would be that it ticks all the right boxes, leading you be infatuated with all the emotionally complex characters, where not only the ending comes as a shock for the reader but the gripping climax building up throughout all the pages.

Wundervoll
Was soll Simon tun?

Chosen ones
A chosen one book about chosen ones. Definitely an interesting idea and it translates into a book that was hard to out down!I will say that I found the beginning rather slow. It feels as though we are waiting for something and there is this anxious feeling as it just isn't happening. But once it does finally happen things really get moving, even though that anxious feeling doesn't leave but instead keeps propelling the story forward. This story does a good job tackling questions from classic academia chosen one stories. It is very reminiscent of Harry Potter, but it really works for other chosen one stories too. From the difficulty of the popularity mixed with the isolation for the chosen one, but also for their friends, as well as the peculiarities of the adults of become the biggest mentors of these children they expect to save the world. It was really well done and managed to both flip some of those concepts on their heads but also affirm some of the previous ideas. A great book!
