I want to try and mount this under a shelf by using the doubled sided tape to the back of the unit. has anyone tried that?

Not sure if Double Sided tape would hold, especially once the gun/s are in it... 🤨... They probably make one for what you’re planning to do

Does this have screw holes in it to mount it to a wooden shelf?

No the pistol rack does not. There are plastic pegs on the bottom that are meant to plug into the lower interior of the Vaultek safe. The safe DOES have pre-drilled holes though, to mount it to what you want to secure your safe to.

Does this fit the RS800i?

If you have the shelf it with an extra slot, it should.
