Does this cable have all 9 pins connected straight through? Or is it not a 9 wire?

I had to cut this cable for an industrial application; it's 9 conductors (maybe 26 AWG) with a foil shield and drain wire.

Does anyone know the wire gauge or current capacity of the conductors?

Yes they are. I just checked with my voltage meter for continuit

Does this serial cable work when connecting a computer to a digital projector?

To expand more, this cable has 9 pins. VGA has 15 so it won't fit at all. I would recommend HDMI or DisplayPort cable for your use if both devices are capable. VGA is an outdated analog tech.
