My Family Loves to Play
This game is amazing! Easy to learn and never fails to get some laughs. The whole family plays every week and we have the best time. We have purchased all the expansion packs.

Its GREAT
If you want to play a awesome card game with friends and family this is the one to get. As someone who usually passes on card games and board games I find this game fun, entertaining, and absolutely easy to play after the second round. as a younger guy you can easily tie this into a drinking type game were the losers take shots if you are into that sort of thing. Ive played 5 games so far and ive lost all of them, including losing 5 minutes into a game. The game is truly unpredictable, and nobody can see their demise coming. The game is designed to give players a chance to outsmart one another. I wont go into the rules of the game because that's way too long of a explanation, there is a youtube video that can explain it better than I can but I can at least summarize it - if you draw an exploding kitten, you either have to have a card to defuse it or you lose, the last one standing wins. Its all about predictions, chance, and smarts, as there are lots of cards that involve taking away other players cards, peeking at the deck, and reshuffling/rearranging to set up the next player turns in advance. The cards have jokes or gags to go along with a picture. Like, boob wizards, genital references, and my favorite is a defuse card where somehow a cat mauling a baby somehow stops a kitten from exploding. Games can last 5 mins, to 30 on average. The only con I see is the cards lose the novelty after seeing the same thing over and over again. But at this price this is a HOME RUN for anyone looking for a fun party game. There is an expansion too, that makes things more interesting that I also recommend.

Quick, easy to learn and fun group game.
I have bought this product 3 different times! It has been so much fun and friends and family have enjoyed it so much that I have ended up gifting or giving away my copy and having to purchase a new one on 2 occasions. This game is really quick/easy to learn. After about 3 minutes explanation and a couple of practice rounds, even the novices around the table were engaged and happy to be playing. If you want to play with more than 5 players, you can combine two decks and have a larger game. We played with 9 players and had wonderful fun. The game moves quickly enough that it doesn't get boring with extra players at the table. It is a fun mix of memory, strategy and luck. The object of the game is to be the last person alive, or the only person to not receive an Exploding Kitten card. Each player gets a turn where they are required to draw from the deck and at any time may get an exploding kitten. If you have a diffuse card in your hand you can use it to stay alive. Other cards allow you to see into the future (check the top three cards on the deck), force someone else to give you a card, skip a turn or force multiple turns on another player. Depending on how many players you have, games can last anywhere from 10-40 minutes. The NSFW edition just has some imagery on the cards that could be considered a little vulgar or not suitable for children. I have played it with my uber conservative parents and siblings and have managed to scrape by with a couple of disapproving looks so I would say that this game is mildly NSFW. You can also get the SFW deck if you are concerned about that. Overall, we love this game and highly recommend it.

A Fun Easy Game for Adults who don't want to grow up!
Husband and I love playing games. But some evenings, we just want a no brainer game. We love the cartoons by the Oatmeal, and the caricatures shown in this game are cute and funny. Some of my favourites (that I giggle at every time) are Shy Bladder Cat and the Overweight Bikini Cat. I am a 37 year old 12 year old, so you have to have a sense of humour to play this game and have fun doing so. Each player gets 4 regular cards and 1 Defuse card. Player plays as many of their cards as they want (or none at all), and picks up a card from the draw pile at the end of their turn (unless they use a Skip card, which allows them to miss the pick up stage). The game ends when there is only one player who hasn’t Exploded. The cards include exploding kitten (1 less of these cards are placed in the deck than there are players – like we play with 2 people, only 1 Exploding Kitten card is in the deck); Defuse, Skip, Attack, Seeing the Future, Shuffle, Favour, and Nope (to stop others actions – like an Instant in Magic the Gathering). There aren’t a huge amount of cards, so I am hoping in the future, the cost goes down, as I would definitely purchase a second deck (the regular deck) for more variations of play. All in all, you could probably learn this game really quickly, even while drunk at a party.

A card game with a touch of Russian Roulette and Uno!
In short, this game is A LOT of fun to play! Like the box says, this has artwork and phrases that are NSWF, so be weary when buying this if you plan on playing it with the younger crowd. That being said, the artwork is hilarious with this game, you have everything from Boob Wizards to... well nothing I should say publicly on here! The game works like this; Everybody starts out with 4 cards from the deck and one defuse card. You then make sure that there is one less exploding kitten card as there are players. Unlike most cards games, you draw from the deck to declare it is the end of your turn, if you pull an exploding kitten you either a) Are out of the game, or b) pla a defuse card and place the exploding kitten ANYWHERE back in the deck. This is great because it adds a suspicion factor, if it right back on top? Is it 7 down instead to get someone unexpectedly in a later turn? It's hilarious watching people panic and see what other types of cards they have to avoid drawing. On top of this, there are many other types of cards like mentioned such as skip, shuffle, etc. In addition there are just cards with no specific abilities but just have cats on them such as "Zombie Cat" and "Cat's Schrodinger". We did modify one of the rules in the game however because it made it more fun for us. One rule states that you can use 5 of any type of card and draw from the discard pile. While this is convenient, it is too simple to get 5 of any card, so we kept the rule but instead you have to use 5 different of the average cat cards instead. Also, this does say the game can play with two players, although my girlfriend and I after playing it 5-6 times just the two of us, found it to become rather dry, so I recommend having at least one other person. Overall, this game is fun, simple to learn, with a twist of crude humor that makes for a great light game to play at night!

A great game for a small get-together.
I heard people talk about the Exploding Kittens game but never checked it our or played it myself. When the NSFW edition game up as a deal on Prime Day, I knew it was time to give it a shot and I'm glad I did. Game play is relatively simple--draw a kitten and you explode. You are out of the game unless you have a Defend card, which allows you to put the kitten back into the deck. The last player left "intact" is the winner. Along your journal, you are discarding cards in pairs or as a single card if it is an action card, or maybe you chose not to lay a card down at all this turn. What takes a bit to get used to with this game is that you draw from the pile at the end of your turn instead of the beginning. The more you get used to what the different cards do, the more you can develop your own strategy to try and explode your friends/family. While game play is fairly simple as a whole, I recommend letting each player read over the directions and keeping them out for easy access to read the details on each action card as they are played. Our first round, we had people messing up as to when they should or should not draw a card based upon the action played, and somehow ended up finishing the deck with two players left. Make sure you read each card, because they are pretty entertaining and make for laughs as the game goes along. I would love to see a bigger deck which would allow for even more players, or make for even more interesting game play with a smaller group. Now, it is your turn. Stop reading reviews and BUY THIS GAME!! And try not to explode :)

Meh, it's ok for current price, but would be terrific at a $10, and I'd gift it to all my friends for $5.
This is MY honest review... it's just meh (for the price). First of all, this is in NO WAY like "Cards Against Humanity" as others have said. We played this game a few rounds, then went and played Cards Against Humanity instead. The next night, we started to understand Exploding Kittens a bit more as we figured there had to be more to it.. I mean it broke Kickstarter records for raised amount (almost $9 million..) and everyone is raving about it. So we did have more fun with it the next night and had a blast... but it's still not Cards Against Humanity. :) Ok, $20 for a deck of cards.. that's right.. a deck of cards. That's it. The NSFW.. hmm.. well, sure. It's cats after all. And one pass through the deck, and they are no longer funny. Similar to Cards Against Humanity, the "what's next" novelty wears off as now you've read or have seen most of the "funny stuff". At least with Cards Against Humanity, they are still funny when paired with the black cards as the combination changes. Exploding Kittens description calls itself a "Russian Roulette" type game.. and that's exactly what it is, but I think with a flair of UNO to it. I actually enjoy UNO more because there's at least a bit more strategy to it (there is to Exploding Kittens too, but once your out of defuse cards, good luck). And the novelty of the NSFW was worn off after once through the deck. Is it worth buying.. well, yes of course! ... for $20 .. well, sure. You're gonna do it anyway, they got ya with the "exploding kittens". :) Definitely buy it if you're looking for a drinking game, because doesn't matter how bad you suck at it after a few rounds of drinking, you can still have fun playing. It's that kind of game. But if you're looking for a card game for some strategy beyond just ditching cards cause you hold them, then shop around. At some point it just boils down to the Russian Roulette point and you have no chance, it's basically last one standing. But still get this game for the New Years Eve Party! :) What did I learn while playing this game..... The "Nope" card. I personally think this is the most powerful card in the game. You can play it ANY TIME! Even if it's not your turn, or even no where near your turn. You can "Nope" someone else's action toward someone else. This is great as a strategy if you're holding a bad hand and think someone else has a chance to win (girls kept beating us guys, so we were in for them) and you can help save that other person. Or, if you just want to ruin someones plan to try and mess with someone and cause them to lose an "important" card from their hand (again those sneaky girls). Great game, I just wasn't $20 (or $9 million Kickstarter) impressed.
