SLV-D350P DVD / VCR Combo

Over the years i've acquired movies on video tape, like the entire Victory at Sea series. When DVD's came out I got a VCR-DVD player since I wasn't going to replace my tapes with DVDs. The player died after 10 years and new hybrid players weren't available at a reasonable price. So I took a chance and got a refurbished unit. So far a good move. Works fine and looks brand new. I chose this company since they had the remote where others didn't and the price was right.

First of all, it took a long time to receive the item and when it finally got here, I found that the VCR does not record properly. I purchased this item to replace a SLV-D350P that I used for years that finally gave up the ghost. Now I have 2 of them that don't work and I hope that I can use this item for a parts supply to repair my old one. Overall, extremely disappointed in this purchase, only reason I gave it one star is that it may have the parts I need to repair my old one.

I ordered this item to replace the same unit I had owned. I knew the replacement unit did not have a remote but my original remote worked fine and performed all the necessary functions. I watched movies on both VHS tape and DVD and had no issues with either. I also checked out the forward/rewind on the VHS and the DVD menu options (stop, skip, step, etc.) again with no issues. The physical shape of the unit looked new with no scratches or dings from any prior use. All connectors were in good shape and came with an A/V cable. I ordered the item on 6-Aug-19 and it arrived on 10-Aug-19 so which was ahead of the estimated delivery date. I plan to run more VHS/DVD media through it this week and also check the recording function (VHS only) as well. So far, so good.

It’s a refurbished so if everything works, I’m happy. The DVD door fell off as I unboxed the unit. Nothing looks broken so I may investigate it further to snap it back in? DVD and VCR work as expected. Thanks, Merry Christmas

I was amazed with so many bad reviews. I have ordered this from amazon and using it for almost 6 months. I don't watch movies everyday but on weekends. So far this combo been great for me. No problems. Infact one DVD was rolling on my friends DVD but ran fine on mine (it was on region zero or something). It plays all formats of MP3 that I tried. One of the formats didn't work on my other sony DVD... amazing. Initially picture was not that clear then I change the cable that goes from combo to my TV (my TV does not have inputs), picture got clear. Thats the good thing I did. I use the cable came with the combo. I have no complain with this combo except that I agree remote buttons are too small.

This product did not work until after I took it apart & dusted the inside of it. It was dust everywhere preventing it from operating properly. After I took it apart, dusted it & wiped the insides down with Alcohol it finally worked but I had to work on it for hours, I had to google how to repair it. I was so disappointed in the product. I’m only keeping it because I fixed it.

DVD player section, not working properly. VHS OK FOR NOW.

Sadly, the one I got had bad cosmetic damages. But it is a really good VCR/DVD combo. The 2nd problem is that the DVD player is noisy. So I donated it to Savers/Value Village.
