Finally a float valve that doesn't leak, anywhere!
I have a stainless steel automatic dog watering bowl that is at least 10 years old. Originally it used 1/2 inch threads and needed an adapter to connect to the garden hose. After 10 years, the adapter and float valve gave out. I first tried the same type set up and had nothing but leaks. The adapter leaked, the valve leaked so the bowl overflowed. I then drilled out the hole to accept a 3/4 inch valve stem to connect to the hose. I purchased three different float valves. One had a long rod and float, two had the float internally. The first one would not fit the water bowl correctly, the other two insisted on leaking and never shutting off. This of course caused the water to overflow and be wasted. Finally I found this float valve. It required some adjustment in the float arm, however this fits the bowl and shuts off. Now how do I connect this to the hose? This required a female to female adapter. After trying 3 different brands of these that insisted on leaking, I decided to get a short hose, 3', that is used to connect a hose storage reel to the water line. This worked! Now I have a system that replenishes the water after the dogs drink and doesn't overflow. No more wasted water.

Perfect!
I used these to create an auto watering system for my chickens and it works as expected. I've had no issues with this at all.

Used these to make an automatic water bowl
My dog is a 90lb pit and drinks water like a horse! I got a stainless steel serving bowl and drilled a hole in the end of it with a step bit and filed down the edges. I attached this valve to the fridge line and it has solved all of my problems! It was easy to set the water level and it refills every time they drink from it. I've got 4 animals and they've been drinking from it for months without any leaks or problems. It was a lot cheaper than buying an already made one.

Great product. No more water feature flooding issues
Moved into our new home and the fountain decided to be our problem child. The float valve, I found out, did not turn off the water and let it keep slowly leaking. Que wet driveway. I set out to Amazon since all the stores were closed. The thin, long floaty wasn’t working so I opted for a short but fat one and voila. We have lift off. And you get two!!! Luckily we had some plumbers tape on hand because like the original valve, it did allow a few drops of water but after that it was perfect. Very happy. We’ve had it on our water fountain feature for a few months now and no issues
