Opening? The grips are large enough for jus about anyone. Bigger and more sturdy and more comfortable than any in our gym.

They come in a pair of 2 handles.

What is the total length from handle to ring?

The ring is 2 inches in diameter. The webbing from the bottom of the ring to the handle is 8 inches plus or minus 1.5 inches. Holding the handle from the ring and measuring off a flat surface, it is 10 inches total length. Hope this helps.
