BONTEC Universal Table Top TV Stand, 32-65 Inch, Height Adjustable, 45 kg

This was very easy to assemble, but a few problems arose with the assembly, which when resolved resulted in a sturdy an elegant stand. First of all, I did not buy this for it's ability to swivel (which is fortunate as you will read below) - it was cheaper than the fixed/non-swiveling model that I originally intended buying. Issue 1 : Very minor this, the first screw that I attempted to screw into a fixed hole in the stand, was very difficult. There was an issue with the threading in the hole, so a bit of care was needed, plus a few attempts at turning/backing off and repeating. It took a couple of minutes but eventually it all worked without any threads getting stripped. That was the only screw threading issue, but it being the first screw in the instructions, it was worrying. All others were fine. Issue 2 : This could have been major. The swivel bearing component comes preassembled, mine seemed a little stiff and over-tight but I assumed it would swivel once assembled and there was some leverage available. So, I built it up, and it did move ok. But when I mounted the TV on the stand, it seemed to be leaning a bit after testing the stand and swiveling a bit. Upon closer examination, the centre strut (the bearing is at the bottom of this) was loose on the base and the strut could wobble quite a bit. Meaning, the TV could overbalance if the looseness increased over time. Thinking that perhaps I hadn't tightened the screws enough (given my issue 1 above), I disassembled my work and checked things out - all my screws were tight. It was then I noticed that the bearing pre-assembly was no-longer tight and could easily be moved. It appeared that the screws in this assembly were now loose - my guess is that it was assembled with the two sides of the bearings not aligned correctly (hence the initial over-tightness) but with a little use and twisting the parts settled and thus became loose. Anyway, there were two screws that seemed that held the bearing assembly together, I simply aligned the bearing to make sure the TV would face forward and tightened the two screws so tightly that the bearing would not turn. I reassembled the stand and I now have a very sturdy fixed non-swiveling stand with which I am very happy. I also believe that I could have adjusted the two screws and allowed the bearing to turn/swivel without wobbling, but I wasn't interested in experimenting as the swivel element was not important to me. It does raise a little bit of build quality suspicion, but all turned out well. And it is a fine product at a very good price.

Don't understand some of the negative reviews about this item. OK, so it ain't gold plated but it does exactly what it's supposed to do. The 8mm black toughened glass base is well finished and solid with 4 plastic self adhesive bun feet. Decent quality matt black metalwork parts and a huge selection of fixing screws and spacers to suit everyone. One size allen key supplied, and I only needed a couple of screwdrivers for the 8mm VESA screws I used for the back of the TV and the small anti-lift off safety buckle screws. The visual instruction pamphlet was simple to understandand and assembly was easy for anyone with half a brain. Three height options on the column for the cross bracket and two multi-position vertical brackets for the VESA mounts on the back of the TV offer loads of height options. Decide on your final screen height before you start to avoid any later alterations and you can't go wrong. The swivel mechanism is very smooth and turns my 50 inch Samsung AU9000 effortlessly and without "wobble". Excellent feature if you need to adjust the viewing angle to different sitting positions in your room. One small word of caution though that I've noticed others mentioned. I was perfectly fine with my new Samsung TV because the VESA mountings have 20cm x 20 cm centres. When mounting the TV on the cross arm of the stand the attached brackets were in no danger at all of slipping off to one side or the other. However, if your TV has got the wider 40 x 40 cm VESA centres on the back, be careful. They'll only just catch on the cross arm which is just 43 cm long - you'll be working very close to the ends. Having said that, a first class stand in every way.

This is a decent stand and I'm generally very happy with it. It'll probably suit most people (including myself) but also I experienced a small few niggles that while not being deal-breakers, are still worth a mention... Build quality is very solid. Finish of the parts is also great quality & very presentable so no issues there. It comes with a tool for the assembly which did the job for the stand itself, but you'll probably want a bigger / fatter Philips Head screwdriver for the screws attaching the 2 vertical pieces to the back of your TV for stronger / tighter fit. It also comes with loads of mounting screws of various sizes, so this'll pretty much guaranteed work with your TV out-of-the-box. Assembly was straight forward, not many stages to go through and the instructions were very clear. I found the fact that the main horizontal bar essentially came in 3 pieces a bit frustrating as that added extra assembly (and was also fiddly finger-work) which could've just been avoided if it was just one piece and sent in a bigger box. The 6 rubber feet that stick on the underside of the stand didn't have any placement markings on that stand so you just have to place the feet sensibly, but it would've been better (for at least peace of mind) if markings were there so you knew you had the feet perfectly symmetrical. Neither of those points are a dealbreaker, but perhaps not completely ideal either. Also, the instructions tell you to install as standard what turned out to be an optional height extension piece (adding a further 10cm of height). I initially installed that part when following the instructions but it turned out that I just didn't need that extra 10cm, so maybe install it only when you know you'll need it. Once all together it's surprising light considering how strong it seems to be, but it is sturdy in itself. - no flex or wobble! I did notice when moving it around when I was getting ready to mount the TV that it seemed to tilt backward with not much effort at all. It definitely seems sturdy enough if your TV isn't mishandled / used under normal circumstances, but it's maybe not as solid as ideal if say you have little kids that could prod / push it over. I'm not sure if I'd feel entirely confident mounting a TV bigger than 55" because of this factor too - the extra size might make it fractionally less-stable, although in reality as long as the TV was left well alone then it'd probably be absolutely fine. As for the height, as said I haven't used the extension as it met my needs without it - I mounted my 55" TV (Sony 55X8509C) to it and I had enough gap between the bottom of my TV and the stands base for my center speaker (17.5cm tall). Side-note: my center speaker is 40cm wide - a standard size for a center speaker, so this stands 40cm base is a perfect fit for these speakers! I could've mounted the bracket on my TV lower to increase the final height more, and with the extra extension adding a further 10cm then you could easily have 30cm+ gap (more if using a smaller TV) which'd be more than enough for most people. Between the multiple 10cm height options on the main vertical part of the stand, the extra 10cm extension piece, and the various screw holes on the TV bracket itself (that are 2cm apart) you should be able to find a combination that fits any height needs and with a height accuracy of between 0-1cm tolerance, which is actually really impressive. One last factor to consider is that as the horizontal plate is solid it could block connection some cables - in my case the optical audio & ethernet cables. My straight-connectored optical cable touched the plate and bent the lead immediately from the connector. My also straight ethernet cable stuck out even more and actual stopped the TV sitting on the bracket properly causing the TV to face the right a little. Both cables still worked but I wasn't happy with the setup so I had to buy an new optical lead with a right-angled connector at one end, and also an ethernet right-angled adapter, and both fitted without touching the stands plate. So basically check first if that plate would block access to connections you plan to use, and if so and you don't have right-angled connectors then plan for that extra expense or otherwise look for another stand that has a hollowed out plate. Overall, all considered (including the reasonable price), despite a small few imperfections I'd still recommend this stand. There are some elements of design that might not suit your needs , but after some unplanned extra expense it does what I need it to. Had those imperfections not been there it would've been an easy 5 stars, but I've given it 4 considering aforementioned issues. Some might not score as generously and think 3 would be more fitting, but I'm scoring based on my personal experience. I have another Bontec stand that's half the price and is just 2 feet that attaches to the TVs mounting bracket area, and in comparison this pedestal stand reviewed here is a massive step up in every regard. Ultimately this stand may be perfect for you, or it could be unsuitable - that just depends on your equipment & needs, but it gets a conditional positive review from me.

Purchased for a friend as he wasn't sure his new tv would sit on his existing tv cabinet as the tv he purchased had feet at each end of the tv and they were too far apart to fit on the cabinet safely. I purchased a similar one last year to raise the tv we have a little so I could fit a dvd player underneath it. This has variable height positions and a selection of spare screws and washers for different tv's to be mounted on it. It does not swivel but my friend wasn't bothered about that. He has mounted a 65" tv to it and is happy with this. It doesn't take long to put together and is very sturdy once together. I would recommend this item.

Top quality piece of kit. This seems like an extremely sturdy stand and it suits my 50” Samsung very well. It comes with a good number of extra bolts so it can be attached to different types of TV, along with spacers of various kinds so that it can be attached to the back of TVs which are not fully flat. This is part of the problem because most of these bolts are not needed and they confuse some people. The instructions are awkward to follow and a couple of arrows indicate the wrong parts. However, if I had to do it again, I could assemble the item in 5 to 10 minutes. The central column is attached to a circular metal disk which allows the TV to rotate, using 2 screws. That circular disk is attached to the heavy glass base using 3 screws with washers. I can see how the base might shatter if too much pressure is applied. I think a thin metal plate should be provided to go under the glass where these screws are inserted. When the central column and disk are being attached to the glass, it may seem that the column is turned a bit. When it is fixed to the glass, it can be turned the right way because it swivels, easily. I cannot even imagine how others said it didn’t work. The top plate then is attached to the column using 4 screws. There are a few height options. You then need to decide at what height you want to attach the two slim brackets that will screw into your TV. When they are screwed in, you basically hang the TV on the central column and previously-mentioned plate at the top of it. There are a couple of little metal things you screw in each side to stop the TV being accidentally lifted from the stand. Other comments have me slightly worried that the base will now shatter because of the pressure of the weight of the TV. I will adjust my rating if this happens! One other reviewer said that his TV smashed because the base shattered as he put the last screw in the glass base to attach the central column. That sounds really odd. There is no way the TV needs to be near the base as it is being assembled, bearing in mind that the TV with 2 brackets attached only gets placed on the stand AFTER it is fully assembled.

Good and strong. Great value for the money.

So far, after a few weeks, this has worked really well. Looks so much better and is so much more convenient than the very very stupid v shape wide apart legs that Sony put on the TV originally. Seems sturdy, and was easy to put on.

Most of the instructions are clear but there is a distinct glitch which caused more head scratching than was necessary. Our new 55inch TV needed a stand as the room is not suitable for the wall hung fittings with which it was supplied. The company's own stand for the model was well over £200. I chose this Bontec version as the reviews were generally good and, being priced a bit above average for this type, I hoped to get something reliable. In the instruction leaflet, the 'Supplied Parts' list was numbered/lettered in the illustrations. These numbers/letters matched two strips of clear plastic bubbles which contained the bolts, plates, washers etc. This made finding the requisite part very easy, full marks for that. The instructions continued to be clear, the drawings showing which part needed to be linked to which other with the appropriate number/letter indicated. For me, the problem arose with steps 4.1 and 4.2, which I hope my photo reproduces. It says "Hang the TV onto stand, there are two gears that can be adjusted". I assume this means the brackets, by now already screwed to the back of the TV, are supposed to be lifted onto the crossbar of the stand. That is the impression the diagram gives. But - this defies gravity as the hooks on the brackets, which will catch the bar, are pointing down. (Close examination of the illustration shows them pointing up - they don't in real life and cannot, even if you put the brackets the wrong way up). The bar needs to be forced up into the top hooks by using a bolt threaded through a small, separate, angled metal bracket in the lower set of hooks. I hope the photos make this clearer, see the one: "Bolt is held in place...". The only way I found to attach the TV was to place it face down on a table covered with a soft blanket, then push the stand's crossbar into the top hooks, place the metal brackets in the lower hooks, with the bolts already partly threaded, and tighten the bolts. They needed to be firmly enough seated to ensure that the weight of the set (17kg) did not allow it to fall out of the hooks, without over doing it in case the bolts ended up with damaged threads. It was then a matter of very, very carefully bringing everything into the vertical and moving it to the right place in the room. Definitely a four hands job. Sorting out the use of bolts and metal brackets was made much more difficult than it need have been because of the tiny (1cm) illustrations for this complex arrangement. I had to hunt out my magnifying glass to sort out what was going on. A mystery which still remains is the statement in the instruction 4.1, 4.2: "There are two gears that can be adjusted". I have no idea what that means, these gears do not appear in the illustrations and nothing that I would recognise as a gear is anywhere to be seen. Having got the TV and stand set up, the structure seems quite stable though I would dismount the TV if it had to be moved, say, to another room. I have a feeling that the bolts might slip out otherwise because there is nothing for them to slot into - just the friction of their angled grip on the crossbar. A final, trivial niggle: a very small Allen key is supplied. The short end is the 'Allen' bit and the long end terminates in a cross-head screwdriver. Personally, I would have found it much easier to do the fiddly bits by inserting the long end of an Allen key, holding the screw in place with my fingers, and use the short end to tighten up. Who, setting out to do a job like this, would not already have several cross-head screwdrivers already? I did try to cut off the screwdriver end but the steel proved harder than my hacksaw!

Buena calidad de materiales y es muy fácil de montar siguiendo las instrucciones ya que todos los elementos viene en bolsitas individuales y bien identificadas con letras. Hay que tener cuidado con las conexiones que tenga el televisor en la parte posterior. Yo he tenido que utilizar los tornillos más largos con separadores para poder conectar el cable ethernet y el de audio digital, pero no he podido dejar accesible el euroconector. Mi TV es una LG de 47" y sólo hay una altura en la que puedo conectar todo (a excepción del mencionado euroconector) y dejar espacio debajo para la barra de sonido, a pesar de que tiene 3 posiciones para la barra horizontal y 2 alturas para los soportes que van en la propia TV, la mía es ISO 400x400. Hay dos tornillos en la base giratoria que he tenido que aflojar para que sea posible girar la tele con el ángulo deseado, y eso no viene indicado en la hoja de instrucciones. Una vez montado todo el conjunto es muy estable y, a la vez, fácil de orientar. Por ese precio es totalmente recomendable y, en mi opinión, más fácil de instalar que un brazo de pared.

Da in meinem Musikraum die Montage einer TV- Wandhalterung wegen mit Akustikschaumstoff gedämmter Wände nicht möglich ist, mein TV aber drehbar sein muss, um aus verschiedenen Positionen gut sehen zu können, suchte ich eine andere Möglichkeit der Montage- und fand sie mit diesem Standfuß. Die Idee, eine solche Halterung als stehend auszuführen, ist super, zumal man sich damit auch hässliche Bohrlöcher erspart. Dass die TV- Halterung dazu auch noch drehbar und höhenverstellbar ist, macht die Sache noch besser und variabler. Zuerst das Positive, danach komme ich zu dem oben erwähnten "kleinen Haken": Dieser TV- Standfuß ist richtig schwer, was natürlich der Standsicherheit zugute kommt. Das liegt zuallererst an der massiven und sehr edel anmutenden, dicken Glasplatte, welche eine matte und eine hochglänzende Seite aufweist. Welche man als Sichtseite auswählt, ist Geschmackssache- bei mir ist die glänzende Seite oben. Die Montage des ganzen Teils gestaltet sich, dank einer recht gut gehaltenen Anleitung, als nicht zu schwierig, aber man muss bei der Menge an Schrauben, U- Scheiben und anderen Kleinteilen schon wirklich die Anleitung gut durchlesen. Einen Großteil des Kleineisens benötigt man übrigens gar nicht, da hier seitens des Herstellers Montagematerial ( Schrauben, Abstandmuffen, U- Scheiben) für alle nur denkbaren Geräte mitgeliefert wird. Daher wirkt die Menge an diesen Zubehörbeuteln zuerst etwas irritierend, das erklärt sich dann aber bei der Montage von alleine. Im übrigen sind die Schrauben etc. bereits gut vorsortiert in einzeln verschweissten Tütchen verpackt, was die Montage denn auch erleichtert. Sämtliche Schrauben, Bohrlöcher und Gewinde sind passgenau, sodass der Aufbau für einen Menschen mit normaler Heimwerker- Begabung kein Problem darstellen sollte. Nach erfolgter Montage hängte ich den TV dann in die Halteschiene (den Querträger) ein und wollte die Kabel anschließen- und JETZT begannen die Probleme, also der anfangs erwähnte "kleine Haken" an der Sache: Es stellte sich nämlich heraus, dass bei meinem Gerät (das muss und wird natürlich nicht bei allen Fernsehern der Fall sein, aber hier ist es leider so) ALLE Anschlüsse (also 2x HDMI, Netzkabel und Antennenbuchse) so unglücklich etwa in Gerätemitte liegen, dass sie von dem Querträger verdeckt werden, und sich somit kein einziger Stecker einstecken ließ! Auch eine Änderung der Höhe der vertikalen "Einhängeschienen" brachte keine Abhilfe, da ja der Querträger das Problem ist, und die wenigen Zentimeter Höhenveränderung änderten dabei nichts. Tja, was nun? Zurücksenden wollte ich den ansonsten prima gemachten TV- Ständer nicht, also gab es nur die Methode "selbst ist der Mann", wozu der Querträger wieder demontiert werden musste: Um an die verdeckten HDMI- Buchsen herankommen zu können, habe ich von dem Querträger, der zum Glück aus Aluminium ist, auf der linken oberen Seite etwa 5 cm des Randes horizontal sauber abgesägt und danach die Schnittflächen schwarz eingefärbt, sodass man von diesem kleinen Eingriff kaum noch etwas sieht (zumal es ja auch hinter dem Fernseher verschwindet) . Nun passten zumindest die HDMI- Stecker wieder in das Gerät; beim Antennenkabel musste ich eines mit abgewinkeltem Stecker nehmen und es VOR dem Einhängen des TV in die Halterung einstecken, und das Netzkabel passt nun auch gaaanz knapp in seine Buchse. Danach unbedingt die beiden Kippsicherungen links und rechts an den Halteschienen des Fernsehers montieren! Nach diesen "kleinen Mehrarbeiten" funktioniert der Standfuß nun wie erwartet. Aber wieso muss man heutzutage eigentlich bei fast allem, was man kauft, noch irgendetwas nach- oder umarbeiten? Eben "mal schnell" etwas aufbauen oder montieren gibt`s nicht mehr...- Allerdings muss ich zugestehen, dass das von mir genannte Problem wahrscheinlich auch bei fast jeder anderen TV-Halterung aufgetreten wäre, da das Grundprinzip mit dem Querträger ja immer das gleiche bleibt. Ich habe übrigens die mitgelieferte "Wand- Kippsicherung" in Form eines Stahlseiles NICHT angebracht, denn das Gerät steht auch ohnedem bombenfest! Der kippt wirklich nur, wenn man es mit Gewalt darauf anlegt! Übrigens: Mein TV ist ein Panasonic - 40" aus der ES 500- Serie. Fazit: Funktion Spitze, Montage (TV- bauartbedingt) nicht ganz problemlos. Ich würde diesen TV- Standfuß trotzdem empfehlen, da sowohl die Optik, als auch die Verarbeitungsqualität und der Preis überzeugen.
