The best value dark roasts available today. The flavor is balanced with a buttery mouth feel and easy on the acids. The beans are typically fresh and produce a strong and pleasant morning buzz. Grinding the beans each morning, it's hard to not feel a distinct nostalgia for the not-so-distant past when quality creature comforts were also affordable like this. I buy on Amazon and another site to encourage the company to keep producing this particular roast. Hill Brothers could charge more, and I'm grateful they don't. It can't be easy for them with the inflation but their values translate into a huge difference for my week. I like knowing I can support a company that sells a high quality product at fair price to people who can appreciate the same. I hope someone from the company sees this and thanks the entire team for me.

I love good coffee, pourover, and enjoy really dark roasts and lighter floral roasts. This is a really decent coffee and I highly recommend it for anybody willing to experiment and adjust their brewing technique. This can have a really deep Smoky flavor that may be too much for some people , but I will say I've got it down so I can actually taste some nice deep Cherry notes and tobacco notes. Very much recommended for pour over with a little more coarse ground. My new go-to especially when it's on sale. Absolutely great value!

I’m a fan of Hills Bros. coffee in general and have tried several of their roasts and flavors that I really liked. While this Dark Satin blend isn't quite my personal favorite, it still has a lot going for it. ​First, the quality is definitely there for the price. It’s hard to beat the value for a 24oz bag of whole bean coffee. Opening the bag, you can tell it's a true dark roast—the Arabica beans are nice, oily, and aromatic, and I love having the freedom to choose my own grind size. ​The issue for me is the flavor profile. They call it "Dark Satin," and it lives up to the name—it is incredibly smooth. No matter how strong I brew it, it comes out a bit too satiny and mild for my taste, bordering on bland. There is absolutely zero bitterness and no unpleasant aftertaste, which some people will absolutely love. But if you are like me and prefer a really bold, robust morning cup that has a bit of a kick, this one might feel a little too tamed down. ​It's a high-quality, smooth coffee at a great price point, it’s just not the bold flavor profile I look for. 4/5 stars.

Love this dark roast coffee. Great taste. Smooth, aromatic, and fresh. A very enjoyable cup of coffee. If you like dark roast coffee give it a try. Highly recommend!

The fresh beans right when first arrived taste rich and satisfying but loses some flavor after a week in the jar, which is normal for coffee beans. It's not the darkest but dark enough for me. Happy with the price-quality combination.

Nice and strong at a great price

My daughter bought me a coffee grinder. I had never purchased whole coffee beans before. The price for these beans is amazing and the taste is even better. It is a darker coffee, which I like beause we use creamer and sometimes pour it over ice, but it is not bitter for being a dark coffee. it is smooth and silky. Who knew that grinding my own coffee was going to taste so good! Now I can't go back.

This is a good coffee with good taste. However. Does not have the strong pop of some other dark roasts. Initial strong taste but fades too quickly. Tried it due to the lower price but won't get it again.
