Is the small size too small for an 8 week lab puppy?

I'd be very careful giving this to a puppy or any dog for that matter, especially to a larger breed puppy. Our 7 month old, barely 7lb chihuahua puppy, had sizeable pieces torn off within minutes and was attempting to eat them. We just tossed it after that and have elected not to buy any plastic or nylon based dog chew toys where potentially harmful bits of plastic and nylon can be consumed. If he is a heavy chewer, I'd recommend edible chews that are safe to consume and rawhide free. There are lots of great options available. Hope this helps ❤️

How hard is this toy? Can you press your fingernail into it or is it hard plastic?

It is a hard toy. You cannot press your finger into it. It takes my dogs a long time to chew it down. I do not believe it is made to be digested.

Will the ingredients harm my dog if eaten?

Not to my knowledge. My dog has had one since she was a puppy. She chews on it a lot. She has worn it down in spots but has not bitten off any pieces.
