OBD2 Scanner CR529, Enhanced Universal Car Code Reader Auto Diagnostic Scan Tool with Full OBDII Functions DTC Lookup Check Engine Light for All OBDII Car After 1996

This device gave me a clear indication of why the car was throwing a check engine light and had the explanation in its onboard database (no need to go to the internet) and I now know how to fix it cheaply. Not a big deal but with a check engine light you never know what you may have wrong unless you have an OBD Scanner. Some cheaper devices cannot erase a check engine light, but this does, so finding that the fault was not a major issue I was able to safely take the car out of limp home mode using this device. Note this device will quite rightly not cancel airbag or ABS lights. These are considered so safety crucial that only a garage with a £2000 + device can erase them (after fixing the problem). A great device to have in the toolbox. A real money and time saver.

I was a bit apprehensive not being computer literate but I shouldn't have worried, this bit of kit was simple to use, downloaded update with no problem, downloaded and printed OBD2 manual and my cars error codes, plugged in and cleared old error notifications which was the reason for buying as the continuous "Service Vehicle Soon" message and continuous pinging every time I switched on ignition was a little annoying , would definitely recommend.

Was the perfect tool for the job today, my car had the engine management light on and was misfiring, the scanner read the code off straight away and suggested a lambda sensor was faulty, I used the live data function to read off the signals from the lambda sensors and sure enough one of them wasn't reading properly, i replaced the faulty lambda sensor and cleared the codes, car now runs perfect and no more warning lights. It's a very compact and useful tool to keep in the car for those quick diagnostics checks and includes a very helpful fault code lookup so when it gives you a fault code it even tells you possible causes of the fault too.

After I read the reviews and everyone saying how good it is ect.... . It was absolutely good for nothing and I wouldn’t buy it again or would I recommend this product To anybody unless they want to waste money on a piece of plastic crap Didn't pick up the fault code for parking sensors ,air bag warning light ,ABS or even resat service light .waste money on a piece of plastic . Well you can buy on Amazon Car Diagnostic OBD 2, Read&Clear, Check Engine Light Code Reader for £8,99 does a better job .

I bought the reader for my ageing 2009 Volvo V70 only to get ahead of the game should the management light of doom appears, so I am on the front foot with mechanics. I had an error light for the DPF but knew that after a newly fitted exhaust this was under warranty and the setting will be taken care of after an emission collaboration by Volvo. I did clear the error after the reader correctly identified the issue, so it did exactly what I needed. But don’t buy this item thinking that you can simply clear faults without actually getting them looked at. Failure to do this will simple cause the management light to reappear later because that’s it’s job right! But at least it will advise you what is wrong so you are ‘in the know’ for any optimistic repairers looking to relieve you of your hard earned cash. Anyhow, it worked for me hence the good rating.

Used it on an Audi a4 2008 cabriolet with a roof fault and it was giving a clear reading even though the roof hood was not working and the dash said there was a problem?
