Ernie Ball 6-String Long Scale Slinky Nickel Wound Bass Guitar Strings, 32-130 Gauge (P02838)

I have a Gio 6 string bass that I picked up used and the strings were at least a couple years old. I paid $100 for the bass, so didn't want to spend a ton on new strings. These fit the bill. The Ernie Ball Slinky 6's are a very good middle-of-the-road sounding string set. While they've now settled and broken in, I can still tell they have that fresh sound. I wouldn't call them bright, but they have good presence. For my other basses I will use DR Sunbeams, or D'Addario NYXL's or Ernie Ball Cobalt Flats (I love the EBCF's on my Yamaha bass) and the Slinkys, though a bit different sounding than the other round wound strings have a nice sound and good feel. If you don't want to spend $30, $40 or more for a six string set, try these.

I put these on my bass and they are so bright and nice. I mean its Ernie Ball so yeah gotta be at least descent right? Anyway if you don't know what to buy for your 6-string just get these. If ya don't like em at least they aren't too expensive. Nice bright yet smooth sound so its a good product and good price. Cheers from Shawn. Excellent. I use these on a six string fretted bass and on a five string fretless. I like the sound, feel, and suppleness of these strings.

After years of using D'Addario strings on my bass, I decided to try Ernie Balls for a change, mainly because they were a little cheaper. I have no real complaints. They're good strings, and have a good sound, but I like the D'Addarios a little better. This may be simply because I'm used to them, and this makes me biased. Either way, in the future I'll stick with what I know. Again, these are fine strings, hold up well, keep their tone well. They're just not for me.

As you can see in the picture I'm a huge fan of Ernie Ball strings. After I clean my new 6 string bass I'll slap em on and see how they sound.

I've always used Ernie Ball on my electric guitarist but when I bought a six-string bass and decided to try them over some other brands. I really like the brightness the tight bottom end and how well they sound it straight out of the pack.

uso ormai da anni le Ernie Ball, ho provato veramente di tutto, qualsiasi marca costosa e non, ma gira e rigira Ernie Ball e D'Addario sono quelle che funzionano meglio su tutto. nel caso specifico è il set da 6 corde, di cui viene prodotta una sola scalatura, che reputo quella migliore: 32-45-65-80-100-130. spesso sento parla di Si basso di scarsa qualità su bassi anche costosi, ma nella mia esperienza il problema è quasi sempre delle corde e dell'ignoranza del musicista che magari vuole usare quello che gli va bene su altri strumenti. con Ernie Ball ed il suo 130 ho sempre trovato grande definizione su tutte le note, una tensione ottima, e soprattutto omogeneità con le altre corde. secondo me questo intervallo di scalature è in assoluto il migliore, molto meglio del 105-135, non c'è paragone per avere un suono definito e con tanto sustain sulle note gravi. consigliatissime. a me durano tanto, ma la durata è sempre soggettiva. NON sono corde in acciaio, quindi non aspettatevi quelle sonorità.

I don't usually use Ernie Ball strings but I bought these because they were a good price and on the off chance. I was glad I did, I have to say, as an all round string for playing at home, practicing and general noodling etc, they're absolutely spot on. They have a nice bright tone but not overly clanky, they feel nice under the fingers, not too much string noise, length was good as I have a string-thru bridge, and they sound nice when playing chords over many strings. I will be buying these again when I come to replacement as I think they are not only great value, but a great string in their own right. I use Fast Fret on the strings before and after use so they have lasted a very long time and have retained quite a lot of their bright tone and playability. I would recommend that you do similar with either Fast Fret or the D'Addario Waves equivalent. You can buy oil top ups for the little pads when they go dry too which saves a few quid and keeps your strings going longer.
