I had the other device that requires you to flip the red lever. I kept shutting off the vacuum unintentionally. It broke. I thought I'd try this one instead. Genius! the push button is easy to use and it does not turn off if you change the position of your hand. Easy to install and it seems sturdier than the other one.

I love Dyson Vacuums, but why they didn't create a way to lock the trigger on their v11 is beyond me! Thankfully, this company figured out a solution that works flawlessly. The trigger lock slides easily on the trigger. with a flick of the finger you can turn your vacuum on (and keep it on) and with another flick, turn it off. The vacuum is still comfortable to hold while it is in place, and it is easy to remove should you want to go back to the trigger mode. It is so useful to be able to keep the vacuum on without holding the button - especially when using the hose attachments/cleaning your car/using other attachments like the drill dust collector this company makes. So glad to have found this! This little piece of plastic changes my vacuuming game!

I bought this for my V10 Absolute and I absolutely like it. If I vacuum the whole house, I definitely do feel my finger getting tired. This push button mechanism with an arc design is brilliant. It installs in about 3 seconds and is ready to go. The only reason for 4.6/5 is because the whole unit doesn’t actually ‘clip-in’ in any sort of fashion. It just slides on there and that’s it. If you’re taking a tight turn with the vacuum, I’ll often find myself inadvertently switching it off with my finger because the push button is so light on the trigger pull. It is also inherently a little bulky. If you have larger hands, it makes the whole ‘pistol-grip’ area a bit tight. In all, these are minor gripes, and I feel like it is a good price for a well manufactured item! It was one of those ‘didn’t know I needed it until I saw it on Amazon’… smh

This button add-on does exactly what it's supposed to do, it keeps the vacuum running without having to keep your finger on the trigger. Just the existence of this cool little gadget had me thinking that holding the button down with your finger must be tiring after awhile, so I bought this. I had not yet received my vacuum. It turns out that the button on the vacuum is super easy to press and hold; like so easy I don't even feel any pressure, so it turns out this button is not necessary for me. The only use I found for it is when using another hose attachment for cleaning out my car. It's nice to activate the button and not have to hold onto anything except the hose.

I can't believe no one made a complaint like this before. I'm a petite girl at 5 ft 1 only 98 lbs and the width of my hand is only about 2 1/2 inches and with this red gadget on-- I had to put ALL my four fingers underneath the trigger lock, thereby squishing and hurting the top of my Index finger as I maneuver my vacuum. The Dyson handle is Not meant to be held like this; thus perhaps that's why separating my Index finger from the rest of my fingers(thus actually holding the trigger) while vacuuming is ALOT more comfortable than using this trigger lock! Product feels pretty flimsy too, more like a $4.99 product. There were a few times it slipped off my Dyson. NOT recommended! :(

So, overall a good concept for correcting a flaw created by the manufacture. Seriously, one has to ask why Dyson would create such a flaw that needed correcting in the first place. There shouldn't have to be an after market product to correct this problem, Dyson should just make a product properly functional. That said, this product does TRY to fix that, but falls a bit short. 1. If you try to push this attachment too far back it will engage the power button 2. If you don't push it back far enough it falls off 3. Putting it on in the 'exact' right spot is questionable as if you bump one side or the other during the course of vacuuming, it will shift, and... fall off. 4. Sometime when trying to press the button (slide left or right lever - turning on/off) it will shift the lever creating problem 3 listed above. 5. There should be a way to have created a full strap around the entire handle then it wouldn't shift causing most of the above problems. This appears to be something the did with later models, but not the model I needed it for and this needs to be address, but again, it shouldn't have been a needed problem in the first place. Overall, this "attachment" to fix a Dyson flaw does what it's supposed to do, just not as well as it could. There is no reason for a Vacuum company to have made a vacuum that you have to HOLD the power button. That's just ridiculous. For those who vacuum larger areas at one time or do their whole home, finger fatigue happens pretty quickly, and you cannot even transition from one hand to another while vacuuming because it shuts down during the transition. The weight of the motor head pressing down on your wrist causing the button to be even more awkward at times also doesn't help. I could mention a number of other issues, but they're not relevant to this add on piece except to say the only reason it's necessary is because Dyson did such a poor job on designing its product. I feel that a 3 is a fair rating due to the failures listed above about this add-on product that could have been addressed by a better design of their product that is trying to fix the design flaw of yet a different product. It seems that everyone is doing half a job half right, rather than doing a full job correctly in the first place. Since it does moderately work it's a fair value of 3. Please people test your products with real people and get real feedback, because these, "good enough" products, are really not - good enough, they're a good start, but finish with a great product instead of a good enough product.

Opened package and installed immediately. Easy to do and easy to use. I prefer to keep my V15 running rather than have it power down and start up again every time I have to let go of the power trigger. The lock accomplishes that when I have to twist and turn the vacuum or switch it from hand to hand. The lock has one moving part that slides nicely. The piece itself feels pretty solid, and it mates well to the trigger handle of the vacuum. Very glad to have purchased it.

This trigger lock for Dyson vacuums is great. There's a design flaw with the trigger on the vacuum, where if you apply too much pressure while holding it down a weak point in the trigger itself breaks, causing the vacuum to partially function, if at all. This trigger lock installs very easily, activates even easier, and seems to depress the trigger just enough that it should not break the trigger. Perfect little device that the OEM should have provided in the first place.

It works for a while but it slips off. We stopped using it.

Very happy with this product! No more sore fingers or cramping hands when trying to hold the trigger down! Sometimes slips forward slightly, however easily shifts back into place.

This trigger lock works well for the V11 Absolute Pro. You just slide it in (you may need to position it properly to ensure it presses the trigger on the Dyson) and press the level and off you go! You will need to put your trigger finger on the lock, or somewhere else, once this is on but that is extremely easy to get used to. For longer cleans, it really makes a difference. Given that it's just a piece of plastic (that you can probably 3D print yourself), the trigger lock is overpriced for what it is but unfortunately, there aren't any other viable alternatives.

Item is idea for my V10 vacuum. Quick to install just slips on and saves me from holding the power button all the time when using the machine.
