Excellent
I purchased a ceiling fan for my bedroom not paying any attention of how Iโm going to install it. I believed (stupidly) that I could attach it to the ceiling. Not the case when you have a plaster board one. This brace did the job bit perfectly highly recommend it and thank goodness Amazon sells it.

Essential support for retrofit ceiling fan mounting
A really sturdy retrofit support for mounting and supporting even a heavy ceiling fan safely. It is easy to slide into an existing ceiling hole, and can expand up to a 24โ ceiling joist spacing, then dig in to the wood and tighten by twisting the support 5 to 6 rotations. I could have even done a one-arm pull-up on this without fear after the teeth dig into the joists. Comes with a nifty electrical box the snaps onto the shaft and all hardware. This was a terrific and essential purchase for securely mounting a heavy ceiling fan.

Great design. Solid.
Great product. Easy to install. Holds the heavy chandelier no problem. This product saved me a ton of work and grief. It was easy to install even with the minimal instructions. I do wish it had an extra bonding provision. But overall I would recommend this product.

Raco Retro-Brace Install Easy
Great product!! I needed to add 2 ceiling fans. Both rooms were unaccessible from above in the trusses. I squared the room center, got on ladder and used a plumb bob for centering the fan on ceiling. Before doing and of this work I placed a tarp on floor and then ladder. Used a scribe compass to scribe a 4-1/4" circle on the ceiling. Then used drywall saw to cut hole. Measured the distance of truss on both sides of hole to know what is width of brass within 1/4". Put Raco Retro-Brace through hole and followed directions for this install on box. Hung ceiling fan with light and was finished. The Raco Retro-Brace made this job much more simple. Product works easy for install and ease of use. If you are not knowledgeable about how to wire the ceiling light/fan I suggest hiring an electrician to run wire.
