I've been using Diamond Naturals since 1997. I've always owned large dogs so the formulas I've used the most have been Large Breed Puppy and the Adult formulas including Adult Large Breed. Due to an increase of chicken allergies over the years I tend to stick with Salmon or Lamb. I currently give my Adult dogs the Lamb. I've never had an issue over the years with any deficiencies in my dogs related to nutrition and I've never had this recalled over any sort of contamination. Years ago I used Iams, and they did have a recall. I know stuff can happen but I'm pleased with Diamond. I can usually find it TSC, Rural King, Petco and a few other places as well. I work with dogs and anytime I have my animals out people always ask what I feed them and compliment the dogs. My primary breeds over these couple of decades have been St. Bernards, AmStaff and Doberman. This food has served them all well. I will always recommend this brand until I have a reason not to. I feel it's a good middle ground food for anyone who wants to feed their dog the best they can without breaking the bank. It is costly but not like many of the brands and you can feel good that you're not feeding Ol Roy type quality food. I've occasionally taken on foster dogs and I actually had a puppy with knuckling, this food helped correct that condition. I currently have 2 puppies less than 3 months old on this food and they are gaining weight at a rate of 3.5lbs a week. The kibble is easy for them to eat and easy to digest. I can always tell my dogs poo from other dogs when we are on walks, traveling or stop at a park. It makes clean up so much easier too. A 40lb bag of the adult usually last my 2 adult dogs 2.5 weeks. They are 80/90 something lb dogs. I'm only on my first bag of puppy food so I can't say for certain how long the 40lb bag last for 2 large breed puppies. It's been years since I had dogs this young. Best I can remember, the 40 lb puppy bag lasted a month. All of those factors depend greatly on the breed you have and their weight. Hopefully this will give you the general idea. My vet knows the food I use and approved of it. For me, it's a 10 out 10. Like everything else, I have watched the price of this go up over the years. I used to pay like $35 for the same size bags. The puppy formula does cost a bit more than the adult formula. That seems common across any brands. Give this food a try, I really don't see you regretting it. Our Doberman all have nice sheen to their coats. We have reds and we have blacks. Oh, Amazon also got this shipped out to me quickly.

I was having a hard time finding a good puppy food specifically for a larger breed, so I was really happy to find this one. My puppy has done great with the Diamond Naturals Large Breed Puppy formula, and the lamb and rice recipe has worked out really well for us. I also love the convenience of having a 40-lb bag delivered right to my door. Great option for large-breed puppies!

Checks off all nutritional boxes for Great Dane puppies. However, Omegas are plant, not fish based. We transitioned at 8-1/2 months from a different brand. Our Dane seems to be doing well. Much easier to find than designer brands and better price for better nutrition.

I have my fourth Golden and have done the Lamb and Rice on all of them, first time with this brand and so far so good. Happy, healthy and enough energy to keep me on my toes! Wouldn't have it any other way!

Anyone that has ever had a GSD knows how hard it is to get weight on them while they are growing, especially if they are really active. It's not uncommon for them to look like they are starving even when they eat the entire house (Ribs showing type scenario). After lots of research and pricing, I settled on Diamond Natural Large Puppy. My GSD pup was around 4 months old and pretty underweight when I rescued her. She had been really sick with a parasite, on top of that, so we had some real work to do to get her healthy. I increased her food amount nearly a cup and a half a day over the recommended serving size for her age for about a month and she gained nicely! Once she was no longer showing ribs, I brought her back down to the recommended amount and have stuck to it since. She has nearly doubled in size in less than 2 months, 30 lbs to now 54 lbs, and I have been able to keep her at a good body ratio the whole time! Ultimately, she is an absolute beast at 7 months old and is stronger than any GSD I've had (Even as a pup). She eats this food like she is dying, so I rated the flavor as 5 stars. It is average price for large breed puppy food, but I buy the largest bag they sell and it lasts about a month. I'd rate the value as a 3.5 ish and I will keep buying it until she graduates to adult food based on the amazing results I've see in her so far. Side Note - 1st Vet Appt was a few days ago and our vet she is in impeccable physical condition - Muscle mass, Fur, Teeth etc, so to keep up what we're doing! I do add olive oil to her food each night (Just a few tablespoons) and this helps with the skin and coat too!

Our Doberman loves this food. Arrived on time and the cost was better than most outlets, saving me the drive.
