Honestly I have never owned or had an interest in metal detecting. Suddenly I was in a rush to buy the cheapest metal detector I could, as fast as I could get it! I was putting in about a 1/2 mile of fencing I'd had some buried metal-rebar property line markers that I needed to find in a hurry. Otherwise I'd be forced to fork out lots of money for a surveyor. My thinking was I'm not looking for gold or silver but a buried iron chunk should show up easy right? Let me tell you, this thing paid for itself within an hour. The good: -Low cost -Shipped fast -Clear instructions and controls on detector. -Light weight and comfortable to use. -Very sensitive! (maybe too much?) The bad: -Feels a little cheap but super lightweight! -A bit of a learning curve on the sensitivity adjustment Upon first using it I turned the sensitivity all the way up. It pinged on nails, bits of tin foil, metallic ore in rocks and the barbed wire in the fence pretty much anything. Too much info....not so useful. I turned it down about halfway and it would only ping more solid items and bingo! I found my markers. You also have to remember to sweep the coil back and forth in your search area and listen for the ping and kind of home in on it. It won't just make a solid tone when held near metal, it seems to require movement. Knowing this makes it very easy to use. If your thinking of getting in metal detecting as a hobby this is a great starter setup. It comes with a nice carrying bag and a folding shovel/pick for digging up your treasure! All in all, quite the bargain.

This is our first metal detector & it is SO much FUN! We keep finding metal objects in our yard, that were left behind by the previous owners, & I have stepped on a few of them. They seem to be in a general area where we believe they had bonfires. I want to avoid anyone else stepping on the foreign metal objects & thought it would be HELPFUL to have a metal detector. I read several Amazon reviews & decided upon this metal detector. Assembly took hubby all of 5 minutes, if that. We installed 2 rechargeable 9v batteries, & went to work. The detector is USER FRIENDLY (even for a newbie to detecting), it detects ALL metal, & feels SOLID, & works WELL. It has a CASE to store/transport it in, though you do need to REMOVE the detector screen to store the metal detector in the carrying case. All you have to do is detach the wiring harness, which is a 2 second process. The detector comes with the manual, detector pieces, a carrying case, AND a handy FOLDING hand shovel, which even has it's own separate storage pouch, which is great because it keeps dirt from off the shovel OUT of the main case. As shown in the video, it is VERY easy to select ALL metal types. Tap the SET button TWICE & then ENTER, and you are READY to detect. It has a screen backlight, which you can leave off to conserve battery life. It also has VOLUME settings & the CAPABILITY of adding a headset, should you desire (headset NOT included). The unit feels SOLID, though NOT terribly heavy, it can tire your arm out if you use it for a long time (especially for a newbie like me). Battery life is GREAT, with our USB rechargeable batteries (NOT included). The batteries were half charged when we installed them & still were about the same when we finished using it about 2 hours later. It is GREAT being able to use rechargeable batteries in it, to save money. The ARM REST is COMFORTABLE & the ARM STRAP is SECURE, which makes for a comfortable exploring experience. My older/taller kids can use it without any issue (tween plus) when using the ARM REST, as they are 5' & taller. My shorter kids can use it too, though they can't use the arm rest because they are too short, it does NOT stop them. lol Overall, we are VERY happy with the metal detector. It has SUCCESSFULLY found various items in the old bon fire area, like screws, nails, pennies, shards of metal, etc. VERY grateful those are pieces of metal, etc that will NOT be going into my feet, nor that of my hubby, kids, or critters. This is a GREAT starter detector & also seems like it would also be great for the SEASONED metal adventurer too. Not sure what else one would need in a detector, because this seems to have it all. HAPPY with our purchase! We WOULD purchase it again.

I love this product as my first metal detector and it was a great value. The only reason I gave it a five, once I started to us it I was wish for some more advance features. It would have been nice with a better display and manuel did not help much. A quick online video for beginners would be helpful, but its still easy to use if you are into this type things. In the future I will invest in more advance models for now its lots of fun and it will with me for a while, only wish my son would enjoy this too but I guess is in acquired taste lol. Good Started device and would recommend.

This metal detector is great and fun for the entire family. It is light weight, has all the tools needed (digging equipment included), and it is pretty effective. First thing I will say when using this is to check the location you are going to use this at. Some places do not actually allow metal detectors to be used. This could include some beaches. The device is pretty simple to setup. You just need to do some assembly but not too much. You honesty just have three pieces you need to put together. It runs on batteries and can last several hours before recharge. It could essentially last a full day if needed. The next thing is that it comes with a carrying bag. This is an okay carrying bag however the material is pretty thing. It is water proof though. This device was able to detect items at least a foot down. I found several metal objects about a foot down. Nothing deeper than that. The shovel works well at digging holes. It is a short shovel so expect to crouch down. If you have a bad back, just ge aware of that. The next thing is the orange makes it pretty easy to spot you so if you are walking around closer to the night time you are easy to see. It is very easy to use and no additional setup is required. I would recommend you hold this at most 3 inches above the surface. It is able to detect through grass, dirt, and sand. Overall this is a pretty fun device to have. You can find all sort of random things but be careful when digging stuff up as objects could be sharp. It is a must for those beach days but be sure to research if it is allowed before trying it out.

Not as good as I wanted it to be or as effective as they make it out to be, either mine was faulty by electrical or it just didn't work as great, my old Bounty Hunter which was valued under $100 work way better than this one. The only thing that was okay with its carrying case and the little shovel that came with it and easy to disassemble and Assemble

Easy to assemble and comfortable to use for both kids and tall users. Controls are clear and easily set even without reading the manual. Volume, sensitivity, and a surprisingly good discrimation and lockout functionality all easy to dial in properly. False triggers: I've used OTHER detectors for searching for lost items in my own yards, and they constantly triggered on nothing at all or responded to my fairly iron-rich soil, without being able to find good settings. This SunPow unit had no trouble identifying garbage and staying quiet if set to ignore trash. Targetted triggering: i tested with MANY sample metal objects of all kinds ranging from gold to titanium to steel to copper and bronze... this detector only jittered slightly from correct identification (eg. copper might lean into bronze, but NEVER so wrong as steel) - EASY to determine whether to bother digging up a "hit." Unit comes with a useful carry bag and a mini-shovel great for moderate users. Serious users may want a better shovel but having even a moderate one ALREADY with the unit is great. Overall i'm very pleased with this unit... excellent for kids to moderate effort adults. ALL detectors will require learning how to use them effectively, but this is able to do all I've asked of it.

I ordered the product for my daughter who is an extreme adventurer. She loves taking this out on the beach or on our trail walks. We haven't found much yet except for a few coins and other assortments of metals. This is a perfectly priced piece of equipment for a first timer. The only downfall for us is it's been raining in the PNW so we haven't been able to use it to its fullest outside. Having said that, we have been experimenting with it in the house and it has been working pretty good. It's easy to assemble, comes with a mini shovel and pick which I did not know it had. The bag for storage is also a nice touch. Great product worth the try and the amount!

I purchased this metal detector to entertain the kids during quarantine. I really like that this model has an adjustable height. I can lower it if needed to make it more comfortable to use for my kids. The batteries were a breeze to install and the LCD screen is easy to read. To test it out and keep the kids entertained, we buried some coins in the mulched flowers beds around our house. The detector beeps clearly and shows different types of metals. You have to pass the coil over the ground VERY slowly, It took some patience to get used to the speed. We also took it to the beach and found a few trinkets. I like that the coil in waterproof, so we didn't have to worry about the waves. Overall, this has been a fun purchase for our family that we look forward to using more.

Quedo chido en mi arbolito de navidad, desde el 2011 deseaba tener uno y ahora en este año en este final de año lo tengo, un no me lo creo tener lo en mis manos. Solo queda probar lo afuera ya que ya lo probé adentro y gala bien solo es cuestión de aprender los botones y x cosa UwU

This thing barely works. Hovering over surface steel or aluminum with those modes on it doesnt even detect them. Only way to get it to detect is hold the PP button. And even then says its 8" away. When basically sitting on it. Shovel is nice but the wand on detector is flimsy. But build quality really doesn't matter when the detector cant detect things in the open that you are right on top of. It did however barely detect the STEEL I BEAM 1-2" under my floor in PP mode only as 8" below. If it cant see a foot thick steel beam how is this going to find anything. Avoid and save your money.
