Awesome lens, great bonus accessories
I've been playing with this lens for a couple of weeks and I absolutely love it. Its incredible range, amazing clarity and quick auto-focus has made this my go-to, walking around lens. I'm a very passionate amateur, but I know a great lens when I use one. This is that lens. Just used it at a local street fair and was able to use it for great close-ups, wide shots and crystal-clear pics of a drummer with zero blur. Walking home, I took photos of a building fire that were put up on the local NBC News website, they were that sharp. Goja is also my go-to Vendor whenever possible. Their price always matches the lowest of any other vendors, but their package add-ons can't be beat. Filters, backpack, monopod and cleaning kit plus the lens for the same price that other dealers charge for just the lens?! How can you go wrong? Everything arrives quickly and is securely packed.

A lot of bang for the buck.
I am not a professional photographer by any means but what I can say is this is a fantastic daily carry-all lense, perfect range for everyday photos, zoom range great for up close sporting events, wildlife and portraits. I'm using a Nikon D-500 and this lense is a great match for it. I spent months researching and comparing lenses and will say I am happy that I went with this lense. No longer have to carry two lenses to achieve the 15-300 range. Fast focus at any focal point and crystal clear at 300mm with no shadowing and minimal noise. As long as you know how to set your camera setting this lense will produce superb photos.

very good lens however.....
Bought this lens to replace 2 Nikon zooms for traveling. Used it for a recent trip to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks in Utah as well as kids shots etc. I would say that the benefits of 1) not having to change lenses and potentially loosing a photo op and 2) less weight to lug around far outweigh any picture quality concerns which some technical reviews highlight but in reality are not really an issue for an every day photographer. HOWEVER one point of consideration which the other reviews did not mention is the large diameter and long length of this lens casts a shadow on the photo when I used my Nikon DSLR built-in flash. I had to switch to a compact camera for some indoor kids shots because of this. Next shopping item is a dedicated flash... Otherwise this is a very useful lens package and is highly recommended.

and I'm glad I did for 2 reasons
I researched the Tamron 16-300 for quite a while before I took the plunge, and I'm glad I did for 2 reasons. 1. Digital Goja has a very good price and package! The case, the monopod, the 32GB card and the lens filters make more than the difference in price between this package and just the lens. Definitely more bang for the buck! 2. The lens so far has been performing great! I had seen a few reviews where people were saying that the lens was soft. I am not having that trouble. As soon as I got it, I got my camera and compared 3 lenses all at maximum zoom. A 55mm, a 105mm, and the Tamron. The 55 and 105 are Nikon lenses. Shooting each one at maximum mm, at the same object, then getting each image and blowing it up on the computer, I saw no difference in sharpness in Tamron. It performed great! The Tamron lens has nice features in other areas. It is very tight, so it doesn't zoom out if the camera is face down, the lens hood snaps into a lock position so you don't drop it, and the focus has been very quiet and fast. For the purpose I need it for, which is generally scenic shots and animals, it is performing very well. I took a close up of a cat from about 10 feet away, with about 200mm of the zoom, and I could count the hairs! That was with the aperture wide open! Very glad I got it!

For the price, this is a good lens
Like my title says....at the price this is a good lens that has an awesome magnification. Everything about the lens is good and i wanted to like it and keep it but the image quality and sharpness is lacking and had to send it back. These 2 things were important to me so had to let it go. I went with a nikkor 18-300mm which I'm very satisfied with. You get what you pay for. BTW - the accessories sold by digital goja are awesome. I recommend buying from them.

Great performing lens
I bought this lens primarily because of the 16-300mm lens and the price. The images are quite sharp and the focus is quick on my Nikon. I also like the manual focusing ring that is free to adjust even with AF on. It allows you to princely focus on very small details. There is no lens creep on this new lens and it does have a lock just in case. I haven't used this lens for portraits or indoor photography but my outdoor and nature shots are vivid and sharp. It's nice having the wide zoom range without changing lenses. Complaints very minor. The lens adds noticeable weight in addition to the camera. It feels good holding it but think twice if you are looking for a lightweight lens. There is some outer corner distortion when the lens is pushed to the zoom limits but your image will still come out quite nice. I am happy with the performance and the camera case that comes with the kit is perfect. Not too big and holds 2 additional lenses.

I lost my previous SLR camera only because I was switching lenses in public places and somehow dirt got into the lens and that c
My only reason to buy this lens was just to have one lens, and never remove it unless necessary! Why? I lost my previous SLR camera only because I was switching lenses in public places and somehow dirt got into the lens and that camera kept going bad afterwards... But, I am happy that I made this purchase. Remember, this is better than the double lenses being offered through general sales. The close up is 16mm, not 18mm. This lens worked very well in my recent summer trips. Thank you, Tamron.

If you are wondering nikon or tamron
I have a Nikon and had the two Nikon lenses that it had originally come with. I wanted to upgrade and went to a camera store and tested the tamron lense and a Nikon lense of about the same zoom length, I went home and compared the pictures and didn't notice any difference! Plus the tamron was so much lighter then the Nikon lense and literally half the price! I tried to do a bunch of online research but couldn't find anything substantial for reasons to get the Nikon brand, so I went with this pack. The back pack is a little small for all my equipment, but it's comfortable and the polarizer filter works great!! I took everything with me on a snowy winter trip to Yellowstone and am super happy with my choice!!! The pictures turned out great!! And the lense held up amazing!! It even froze on me at one point, literally glazed over with ice. But took no overall damage. I recommend this lense to everyone I know now. Super happy and impressed with this one.
