This adapter is sooo much simpler to install as opposed to a traditional 3-wire fuse block hardwire kit. Simply unplug the rearview mirror power & plug in this unit. The original mirror plug fits into 1 of the 2 pigtails and the dashcam into the other. What could be better???The nominally higher price for the Dongar unit versus the traditional hardwire kit makes the Dongar a no-brainer choice.

2021 Honda Ridgeline RTLE. This worked perfect for plugging in my dash cam, installs incredibly easy. The only negative is that the plug-ins are bright green. Cover with black tape if this bothers you.

Decided to get a dashcam for each Honda I own. Went with the Garmin Mini 2 (great product BTW). The only downside was the power cable. Either you go with the shorter cable, and it hangs straight down, or the longer one but you have to route it across the top of the windshield, down the pillar, underneath and across the dash. Yeah, that sounds like work. Enter the Dongar 7pin dash cam power adaptor for select Honda vehicles. It is basically an interface cable that adds a USB receptacle. All you have to do is unplug the existing 7pin power cable from the back of the powered review mirror (your vehicle MUST have the powered mirror for this to work), plug the original cable into the Dongar power adapter, then plug the power adapter back into the rearview mirror and you’re done. All that’s left is to plug in your dash cam via the EXTREMELY short USB cable (included) and the installation is complete. No wires hanging down, no routing of long cables. It is a very clean and simple solution. If you don’t mind the cable hanging down or routing a cable all over creation, save yourself the $30. For me, it was worth every penny.

I was stymied installing a dash camera in my 2023 Honda Passport because I didn't want to run a power cable down the A-pillar to a cigarette lighter socket. I hate how that looks and I didn't want anything non-factory furnished next to the air bag at that location. This power adapter is just what I was looking for! I texted Dongar, asking if this would fit my car (because it wasn't listed) and got an immediate reply saying it would work. Installation is a snap and I have my dash cam installed and working. I'm very happy with this purchase!

I can’t believe it works! Added a Pelsee S12 to my 2008 Acura RDX. The only draw back is it turns off with ignition so you can’t use the parking recording. You’ll need to get an obd II plug and run it. I might do that. I bought one just in case this item didn’t work. I’m super happy how clean it looks cause you can literally hide this thing in the dome light area. Very happy.

Functionally? Perfect. Plugged it into my Ridgeline, dashcam fired right up, no splicing, no fuse drama—just good clean plug-and-play joy. It delivers power like a champ and does exactly what it’s supposed to.But riddle me this, Dongar: why is it fluorescent green??Like… neon, highlighter, "look at me I’m radioactive" green. My entire dash is sleek black, gray, subtle tones… and then BAM! There's this bright green plastic gremlin just vibing under my mirror like it’s trying to flag down aircraft.Did I accidentally order the rave edition? The "Monster Energy-sponsored Honda" version?Don’t get me wrong—it works great. But if it had just been black like every other piece of plastic in my car, I wouldn’t feel like I was constantly being mocked by a tiny, lime-colored USB plug every time I get in.If it was black it would have got 5 stars.

Worked great for 2019 Honda Passport Sport - the sport model does not have a self dimming mirror but the wire is there to plug this in. I would suggest getting a longer cable i ordered and 18” vs the 9” it came with for this use case

Great little breakout cable. Does exactly what it advertises fit my 2018 Civic touring well. It's definitely pricey ending up being $57 Cad.
