Excellent for the price point.
I wear this RunMax pro 40 ib vest mainly when I hike up mountains and go bike riding. First thing I want to mention is putting this on really adjusts your posture to a very natural position. I have had minimal pain wearing this, even when hiking long distances. No pain in shoulders or lower back as of yet.It might help if you use your phone or a mirror to properly strap this vest on and adjust as necessary. If you do so, you might not need to buy the non-including shoulder straps they sell for this. I think it's so well designed that it really isn't necessary, but experiences do vary, and I suggest just adjusting it slightly as needed, but just getting the straps across as straight as possible should do it.I will say, despite it's apparent simplistic aesthetic, I think the design of this vest itself is excellent for usage. The quality overall is very good, but I have noticed that maybe after the 4th hike the velcro straps did start to wear out, but I suppose that's to be expected with 40ibs ofT A C T I C A L S U P E R I O R I T Y bouncing all about. Well, it's not quite tactical as it could use more pockets. However, you do have a front pocket that'll hold your precious livelihood (yes, your cell phone) there's a metal ring I use for my keys, and even a whole water bottle holster to arm yourself to the teeth with liquid rehydration....Yeah... Well, there's not much to say about this vest really. It's relatively comfortable, it doesn't feel too constraining or put you at risk of overheating due to it's very airy design... Somehow, despite the RunMax name, I'm not sure this is the most aerodynamic of designs ๐ค but I digress. This vest does have the option to remove sandbags so I suppose you COULD have "added storage" for the removal of weight, but I'm just not sure what you'd be putting in those kinds of pouches aside from the occasional candy/granola bar ๐ณIn all seriousness this vest is great, even despite it's very basic exterior. Compared to other vests, it's comfortable for many different sizes, you have lowered risk of overheating, lowered risk of pain and it's adjustable to your needs as you become a chiseled masterpiece overtime. If it ever did just have more pockets, this would be quite sublime. If you need, you can consider buying a drawstring backpack, and items with very appealing names such as "wAtEr bLaDdEr" and "fAnNy pAcK" to keep you hydrated AND storage friendly. And maybe some sort of solar external battery (that's rightI just called you out again!) And I'm not saying anything about anything, but in a pinch, if in case of a pesky zombie apocalypse this thing IS still 40 ibs. You do the math... What are you waiting for? For 50 bucks go get those glutes in shape err get your butt in gear

Long-Term Use of the Weighted Vest
After extended use of this adjustable weighted vest, it remains a highly effective tool for enhancing endurance, strength, and overall workout intensity. However, one notable consideration for long-term wear is shoulder discomfort.Key Observations:โ Effective for Shorter Workouts โ This vest performs exceptionally well for high-intensity training, such as sprinting, calisthenics, and bodyweight exercises. The adjustable weight system allows for versatility in resistance training.โ Good for Hiking & Rucking โ While beneficial for outdoor activities, prolonged wear may cause noticeable shoulder fatigue due to the pressure of the added weight.โ Shoulder Strain Over Time โ Extended use, especially with heavier loads, can lead to discomfort in the shoulders and upper traps. Adjusting the straps can help distribute the weight more evenly, but prolonged wear will still exert pressure on these areas.Best Use Cases:โข Short-to-medium duration workouts (30โ60 minutes)โข Strength and endurance trainingโข Weighted hikes or rucking (with mindful breaks to prevent excessive strain)Final Verdict:This vest remains a high-quality, effective training tool, particularly for short-duration, high-intensity sessions. However, for longer workouts, users should be mindful of potential shoulder fatigue and consider adjusting the load accordingly.

Great alternative to backpacks with books
Fastens snugly to my body and the weight is distributed nicely on the front and back. MUCH better than the backpack with books I was using. Feels durable and well-made.

Very Weighted
Bulkier than I expected. Fits fairly comfortably, however lots of impact/bouncing is a lot on the shoulders.Love it for weighted walks and runs, definitely a workout.

Great value and versatility
I have had this for over a year and have logged many hours with it.I am just now purchasing the shoulder pads as I am now using it for hours at max weight and it is hard on the shoulders, hoping the pads help. For reference I am 6 feet 230lbs who normally wears a XL shirt. This thing fits well and stays in place. The straps to secure it hold well and don't cause much chaffing. I have to apply cream to a small part of my underarms but not bad.It is as comfortable as one can expect from a weighted vest. My biggest complaint is it is fairly bulky so in warm weather it is really hot to use. In fact I went and purchased a wolf tactical workout vest that was 3x what this cost hoping the lower profile would make it nicer to wear. I ended up returning that one because while smaller it was so uncomfortable I couldn't wear it.The ability to change the weight really does make this much more practical as I could adjust as I was working my way up. I still will pull weight out and drop to 20lbs if I want to run in it.If you want to get into weighted vests this is the best bang for the buck and versatility

Adaptable Weighted Vest
Purchased this vest about 3 weeks ago. I wanted something in this style and where I could change the weight as desired. The fit: I am 5'9" and although I am carrying some extra fat, I have a tiered, athletic build. It fits me well, with no discomfort on shoulders or torso. It was easy to figure out how to add the weight and don the vest. I think for someone taller or heavier, it might be nice to offer other size options. I could be wrong. The experience: I was worried the weight could aggravate some existing back issues. I was wrong! The vest actually acts like a brace, completely wrapping and making you more stable. I began with 16 lbs. I like to balance the front to the back. After one week I added to make it 24 lbs. I walk about 4-5 miles consistently with it. It's still as comfortable but trust me your legs will feel it.The results: In less then 3 weeks, with this product and activity, plus diet and behavior changes, I have dropped 11 lbs from my body weight. I hope it will do the same for you!

Comfortable, sturdy and offers variable weight adjustment
The weight vest arrived packaged well and as described. The vest is as comfortable as you would expect. If you have thinner shoulder/lat areas you may want to opt for the extra padding. If you have some muscle up there the vest is fine the way it is.I used it on a couple of 3 mile outings with no shoulder marks, with only a t shirt underneath it. What I really like is the vest has 5 weight pouches up front and in the rear. I believe each pouch is 4 pounds. So you can easily adjust the weight and maintain the correct balance very easily for different workouts.Another nice feature is that the weights (soft heavy pouches, loose material sand?) are held in place very securely. I have had other weight vests that while putting them on weights would fall out, not this vest. The vest is warm, but that is to be expected, just dress accordingly. Overall a really well thought out and manufactured product. It also has a pouch in the front to hold your phone or other smart devices, music etc.
