Yes it would. If you wish to be a purist, the resonance in the cabinet will be slightly different but in terms of human hearing, only an absolute specialist with 'A1' hearing would be able to spot any difference in the sound. Try it with any speaker - just change the orientation - you won't be able to hear any real difference. Hoping that this helps.

Absolutely. I had the same problem with dialog, especially watching films. After the centre speaker was hooked up it totally transformed the whole experience of TV and Film. The Wharfedale CS 9 in awesome.

They are designed as a centre speaker but I think you could use them as a left and right hi fi speakers with reasonable results, but if you are considering spending that much money then you may be better considering a pair of wharfedale diamond 9.1 speakers, a fantastic speaker for a very reasonable price.
