The definitive work in the field, International Human Rights provides a comprehensive analysis of this wide and diverse subject area. Written by world-renowned scholars Philip Alston and Ryan Goodman, this book is the successor to the widely acclaimed International Human Rights in Context. Alston and Goodman have chosen a wide selection of materials from primary and secondary sources--legislation, case law, and academic writings--in order to demonstrate and illuminate key themes. They carefully guide students through each extract with thoughtful and lucid commentary. Questions are posed throughout the book in order to encourage deeper reflection and critical enquiry. A Companion Website features additional resources, including the first three chapters of the book, available for download. Review: A Must-Read book. - "International Human Rights" provides you with knowledge regarding Human Rights issues around the globe that even a non-legal background person could enjoy reading it!!! For me, this is by far the most comprehensive compilations on International Human Rights. I highly recommend this book for those who want to explore this area of Human Rights in Politics, Moral and Legal contexts. A Must-Read (and also unputdownable) book for any scholars in this field or related areas , or those who might be interested in this subject and want to broaden his/her horizon regarding Human Right issues. And it can also be an excellent reference on topics related to Human rights for Undergraduate or even Post-graduate students. Review: good condition, reasonable price - the book arrived earlier than I thought it would through international shipping. good condition, reasonable price. thank you!

Lots of information and a good resource. Of course in the area of International Human Rights, nothing beats genuine research. However this is a good resource to have.

Legal Textbook
I purchased this book for a course. It arrived with several pages bent, even though I had purchased it new. Also, the publisher does not offer an online version. The book is quite large and has relatively small print; a version with online access would be useful to those with poor eyesight or disability. As well, it would facilitate outlining.
