Best Baby Mattress Ever! Perfect fit, ideal balance of comfort and firmness, and no plastic cover. Never buying anything else.
I love this mattress! It's the best baby mattress I have ever seen. I initially bought this mattress to put in a crib at my in-laws' house for occasional use. I wanted something inexpensive, very comfortable, and not covered in plastic or vinyl. We loved it so much, we ended up getting another one for the crib at home too. There are several features that I really love about this mattress. Most importantly, it's the perfect combination of comfort and firmness for a baby. I don't know how Graco managed to do it. It must be magic. But it feels so soft and cradling when you touch it or press on it, and yet it's somehow firm enough not to let the baby sink into it at all. Even my 38 lb preschooler doesn't sink in when she lays on it. I want a safe mattress, but not one that feels hard. I want my baby to be comfortable. This mattress is perfect. Another awesome feature is the fact that it fits exactly right in the crib. No gaps. Our old crib mattress fit pretty well in the sense that there were no large gaps around the edges, but this mattress you have to press just a little to get it in place and it's snug all the way around. And not only that, but the edges and corners are square so there's no empty space in the corners either and it doesn't round over on the edges. Maybe I'm just weird, but there's something satisfying about a proper fit like that and a very flat surface that doesn't make the baby roll to the edge or toward the middle. It's also safer for babies not to have any way to get stuck between the mattress and the side of the crib. I love the fact that there's no plastic cover. It does mean it's not waterproof, only water resistant. But I will take that trade in a heartbeat because I hate the noise and feel of those vinyl-covered mattresses. This one is so inviting. The mattress is made of a single block of foam. Because it's only water-resistant, I used a waterproof mattress cover on it, but I don't think you would have to. The water resistant feature comes from a liner over the foam that feels something like the material you might find on the outside of a windbreaker jacket or a pair of snow pants. It's very thin and flexible and fabric-like, but kind of shiny and wouldn't let water through very well. There's another cover over that which is stretchy and has a textured feel and it makes it so you can't really tell there's a slicker, water resistant layer underneath. And on top of that, there's a third cover that is very soft fabric. All 3 covers have zippers and completely cover the mattress all the way around. They're easy to remove if you need to. The innermost cover would probably need to be handwashed as I don't think it would hold up in the washer, but it might just wipe off unless there was a lot of liquid. The other covers seem durable enough to go in the washer. The overall effect with all the covers on is much like the surface of an adult's mattress - soft fabric feel over foam. The mattress ships tightly compressed and rolled in a box. You just remove the box and plastic packaging, unroll it, and let the foam expand. I recommend taking all the covers off to let the foam expand properly, without binding up inside the covers, and so it gets plenty of air. It only took about 4-5 hours to take its normal shape, but we left it for about 24 hours before we put the covers back on and used it. I didn't notice any chemical smell at all. My baby girl sleeps great on this mattress and I'm very happy with it. The only thing I don't know yet is how well it will last. It has a 6 year warranty and it seems plenty durable, but time will tell. Even if it only lasts a couple of years, I would buy it again at this price.

Great full sized crib mattress
Why spend $300 on the newton when you can just spend $100 on this one. This one is perfectly fine and comfortable. Our kid finally grew out of the mini crib configuration of our yuzu babyletto so we have upgraded to the full sized.

GREENGUARD GOLD = SAFE
FIRST please read this: 100% Polyurethane Foam Has been banned in it’s pre-regulated form since 2004, and has not been used in these graco mattresses. There’s a review here for this mattress that is scaring parents off and claiming it’s made of the 100% Polyurethane Foam that constantly offgasses toxic chemicals. The same person states that she did tons of research but I have to assume she just googled “ 100% Polyurethane Foam” and freaked out. While this mattress is made from Polyurethane Foam, it has been GREENGUARD GOLD certified, which means it has been approved by several of the most reputable agencies in the world for an acceptable amount of offgassing. What this means, is that in an indoor environment where there is little to no ventilation, this mattress offgases an extremely low level of chemicals, low enough that it does not cause abnormalities or expose any safety risks to your little one. If you research 100% Polyurethane Foam, there are some scary facts about it, but if you also research what it means that a mattress is GREENGUARD CERTIFIED, there is extensive tests done to make sure It is safe. This mattress is not only GREENGUARD certified, it is GREENGUARD GOLD certified which makes it even higher up in the list for safe, low emission foam mattresses. Please do your own research on BOTH 100% Polyurethane Foam, and the GREENGUARD GOLD CERTIFICATION requirements before some Random person on the Internet convinces you that something is not safe when there have been amazing scientists and children’s health advocates researching and improving materials for over a decade specifically to ensure the safety of our children. Now, if you wanna know about the mattress itself: The one I received took a full FOUR AND A HALF DAYS To fully inflate for us, for about a day and a half or so I was totally convinced that I was going to be one of those unlucky people who got one that just wouldn’t inflate all the way no matter what I did. But, it did eventually fluff up to the full stated height/width/thickness. I did not notice a weird smell once fully fluffed up nor when we first opened it. I guess my best piece of advice is just to be patient with it, even if it takes longer than the 48-72hrs. It fit in my daughters crib absolutely snug, the literal perfect size. Sheets fit great, and she has been sleeping on it great. She is a wiggler in her sleep and will often go from sleeping on her back, to her tummy, side to side. She seems to be very comfortable in this mattress, and will switch positions without waking up in discomfort. It’s great for her and firm enough that I would be confident using it for a newborn.

Lightweight and safe but check the corners and air-dry the cover
Getting this foam mattress was a huge relief after dealing with those heavy noisy spring mattresses. It weighs less than ten pounds so I can easily lift it with one hand during a late-night sheet change. It is firm enough to feel totally safe for a baby but does not make any loud crinkling noises when they roll around. Finding something with Greenguard Gold certification at this price point made me feel a lot better about the air quality in the nursery. The setup process definitely requires some patience because it comes tightly rolled in a vacuum-sealed bag. You have to let it sit out for at least 48 hours and even then you need to check the corners to make sure they fully puffed up without leaving a dangerous gap. You also have to be incredibly careful with the waterproof cover when you do the laundry. Putting it in a normal dryer cycle will shrink the material meaning you have to hang it up to air dry. This is a genuinely great buy for the nursery as long as you know about the setup and washing quirks beforehand. I highly suggest getting a second waterproof protector so you are not waiting on the main cover to air dry after a midnight mess. It delivers exactly what it promises for safety and comfort without costing a fortune. Just make sure you open the box a few days early so you can verify those tricky foam corners have properly expanded.

THIS IS FOR A DOG BED!
I got tired of buying dog beds that are pricey and fall apart in a matter of months. So I got the idea to use a crib mattress instead. I looked them all over and settled on this one. It checked all the boxes, price point, water resistant and only 5 inches thick, so I ordered it. I didn't have any of the problems others have stated. Mine fluffed up all on it's own in about 10 minutes. I also had it out of the cover and the sides were not melted. It was perfectly cut and has rows of air holes all the way through it, just a few inches apart. It also has an encasement under the cover that appears to be woven material like fiberglass. I don't know what it's made of, but I am sure that it's what gives the mattress it's flame retardant protection. The mattress cover itself is a nice enough fabric with an inner plastic like backing, but it isn't crackly. And the zipper is good quality and works smoothly. All in all it's a good mattress for the price. Moving on... I needed something to use for a cover for it, and didn't want the standard cotton crib sheets in colors and prints for babies. So I searched crib sheets looking for something better suited to dogs and found the perfect sheets. It says they are flannel but they are not. They're a thick, plush velour fabric. So for a cover I ordered the BlueSnail Super Soft Stretchy Fitted Flannel Crib Bed Sheet for Standard Crib and Toddler Mattress (Brown) I also ordered the Biloban waterproof crib mattress encasement (full enclosure with zipper), to protect the mattress from accidents, like vomit. With that and the sheets I can keep the mattress clean and fresh with a simple sheet/encasement change. My 2 dogs love the bed, so I planned to order another one, now that I know what I'm getting. The second mattress is on the way now, since one dog got injured and has to be kept crated for healing. I have an extra large Pet Lodge crate, but it needed a cushion in it. So I took some measurements and found the crib mattress is the perfect width, just 5 1/2 inches too long. So I took the cover off, and cut the end of the flame retardant fabric open at the end, since it was a little longer than the mattress and stretches. Underneath that is a thin fabric that covers the foam. I cut it across the top of one end, 6 inches from the end of the foam, so it's like a cap over the end (like a flip top cigarette box). I peeled it back about a foot, and and used a straight edge on it to cut almost all the way through the foam with a very sharp knife, about 1/8 inch from being cut all the way through. I then folded that piece back on top of the mattress for a bolster pillow. I taped it in place with duct tape, then pulled the thin fabric back over it and taped it shut on the bottom. Then I did the same with the flame retardant fabric, taping it across the end, and put the cover back on. I did the bolster so the covers wouldn't be too big and hang 5 inches off the end of the foam. Since I left that extra foam folded back on top of it, it filled the covers with no excess hanging off. I just didn't put the encasement back on, because of the orientation of the zipper on it, I wouldn't have been able to get it on. So instead I cut a piece of an old 1 inch thick memory foam mattress topper to fit over the mattress, from the top of the foot end, all the way over the bolster end and to the bottom of it. Then I put the sheet on and put it in the crate. It fits end to end and side to side. So I had to take the back end off the crate to slide it in, since the door isn't that wide. But it's all done and nearly perfect. Poor Jilly Bean has a long recovery ahead for a ruptured Achilles tendon. When the new one comes, I will put the encasement on it, along with the other sheet. I'll also be ordering a couple more sheets now so I have a spare for each mattress.

Very comfortable, easy transition
It completely “inflated” within the 48 hours as promised! My son loves it. He’s four and a half months old and we had no problem transitioning him from the bassinet to the crib. We’re right in the middle of the dreaded four month regression, and he slept 12 hours last night! Pushing down on the mattress, it was firm but also very comfortable-thinking about getting a few and combining them for myself!! 10/10 recommend!
