Spaetzle Maker & Potato Press for Round Spaetzle

Simple but sturdy design and is well made. After having had a bad run of destroying garlic presses with what I can only assume is superhuman grip strength I paid very close attention to the design and materials of this product. My research seems to have paid off and it looks like I’ll have a functioning ricer for years to come.

Spending $50 for a culinary 1-trick pony is a decision not to be taken lightly. However, I took the plunge and I'm blown away. German quality, this is heavy and well built. I have been making nokedli noodles for decades. I usually make the small ball type, using the type of spaetzel maker that looks a bit like a cheese grater with a sliding bucket for dough. I wanted to a spaetzel in string shape, so I hedged about for months and finally bought this one. It makes perfect spaetzel noodles! So easy, surprisingly light resistance when pushing noodles out, smooth, and just perfect. I then recalled the second trick this pony does; Spaghettieis! I grabbed a pint of vanilla gellato, some fresh strawberries I whipped in the Vitamix with a bit of sugar and a bit of OJ, whipped some heavy cream to peaks for the base, and a chunk of white chocolate for grated cheese. I froze the device and 2 plates overnight and made the next evening. SO good!! I attached a pic, it was beyond delicious. If you're thinking about this device, just go ahead and buy it. You will NOT regret the purchase, it's perfect.

This thing makes what it is intended to make. It does quite well at it. Very easy to use and fits most pots. If you’re cooking in a cauldron, maybe it won’t work for you as easily, but other than that rare situation, it should make your life easier. Easy to clean. Nice and sturdy. No problems at all.

I have always loved spaetzle, but since I can no longer eat gluten, I had given up ever eating spaetzle again. But with a GF recipe and this spaetzle maker, I can make my own. It also makes great GF spaghetti. I would give this product a 10 if I could. Love it!!!

Spaetzle dough is very sticky and normal ricers clog and are hard to clean. I don't know for how long the non-stick coating on this baby is going to last, but for now it works and cleans up with nearly no effort. In fact after we were done just putting it under running water removed all the leftover dough. So for now this little gadget gets a 5* rating from me.

This product will last forever. It will be something to hand down through the generations! German quality!

OMG! I have been making spaetzle for 40 years and this is by far the BEST spaetzle maker I have ever used. I believe I will have it for the rest of my life as it is so heavy duty. The time to make the spaetzle was cut significantly as the dough goes through the maker relatively quickly. I love it and can't wait to make them again!

My mother had one of these from Germany when I was a kid. This is exactly the same and makes spaetzle (or noodles, etc) perfectly.

Ottimo proodotto, arrivato il giorno dopo l'ordine. Ho risolto il problema di schiacciare le patate grazie alle leve che sono più lunghe rispetto ai schiaccia patate presenti in commercio rendendo il lavoro meno faticoso. Utilissimo appoggiarlo sulla pentola per fare forza. Molto robusto.

I bought one just like it many years ago while in the military living in Germany, but it was lost in a custody battle with my ex. lol... The love for homemade spaetzle was a driving force to find another. The quality and function are identical. I cannot comment negitavely in any way about this product.

Cet article est encombrant et un peu lourd; mais il m'est utile pour faire de la purée, des gnocchis et des pâtes. Cher mais assez pratique.

Vorneweg: Die Beschichtung hält auch in der Spülmaschine, auch wenn das hier ab und zu anders behauptet wird. Vielleicht sollte man einfach nicht zu aggressives Spülmittel verwenden (aber wer macht das heutzutage schon?). Ich habe mir die Presse schon vor längerem auf Empfehlung eines Bekannten beim Hersteller direkt gekauft. Da man sie auch gut verschenken kann, habe ich wegen der schnellen Lieferung nochmals eine bei amazon kurzfristig bestellt, da ich bei einem Hochzeitsgeschenk etwas spät dran war. Das Teil ist nicht nur ein echter Hingucker, es funktioniert auch richtig gut, ist eben sein Geld Wert. Bei mir macht der Goldspatz schöne lange Spätzle. Laut meines Bekannten soll damit auch Spaghettieis recht gut gelingen, habe ich aber noch nicht ausprobiert. Wer den Teig zu flüssig anrührt, bei dem quillt dieser dann an den Seiten heraus (ist mir am Anfang auch so passiert). Man muss ihn also immer fest anrühren. Das ist aber bei allen Pressen so. Ansonsten finde ich den abnehmbaren Hebel mit dieser Steckachse noch ganz praktisch. Persönlich finde ich die Variante mit diesem Stift besser, da beim Arbeiten der Heb nicht herausfallen kann.
