YoLink Smart Wireless Temperature & Humidity Sensor, Wide Temp Range for Fridge, Green House, Pet Cage, App Alerts, Emails, Text/SMS alerts- Hub Required

I wish I would have installed this immediately after I received it! It would have saved me hundreds of dollars and hours upon hours of prepared meals that were lost. Live and learn. This little device is well worth it! Very easy set up and it is sensible to minor temperature changes. I get multiple alerts when the temperature or humidity has changed. I was literally ready to sell my freezer that was only a couple of years old. I live in Costa Rica and there are unpredictable power outages and/ or surges that have caused the freezer to go out. No more. Recommend without hesitation.

We have tested various devices for a few weeks. I have to say that we are very pleased. The first thing we noticed when unpackaging was that everything seem to be designed and made with attention to detail and care. That was a little surprising for us. Many times you get cheap packaging and apps that look like they were created in a single afternoon. Not so in this case. We had to double check to verify that this is a start up company. By all outward indications, it feels like it’s a well polished company that has been in business for quite some time. All manuals and set up information is available online. Do not expect much in the box. We had a little difficulty finding the information we needed at first but we were grateful, and still are, for the fast response from the company. Since we mentioned the company, we have to note that any kind of support request is answered promptly, even at odd hours of the night. That was surprising. But they have always been friendly and helpful, even when we should have checked product documentation first. The initial set up was a little challenging with Wi-Fi. But that is not due to product limitations. It is due to limitations on the wireless routers we used. The wireless routers we used did not allow us to separate the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks. This system uses the 2.4 GHz network, which is needed in order to have the range. In the end, which simply hooked up the network hub to the router using the provided ethernet cable. Everything has been pretty much smooth sailing. Again. The system requires a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. If you have trouble getting it to connect wirelessly, the issue is almost certainly your wireless router failing to separate the two networks or failing to allow the device onto the 2.4 GHz only. It’s not a product limitation or defect. Our recommendation is just to hook it up with the ethernet cable since the range is very long, anyway. Before using the system, we recommend updating the firmware on all devices manually. Depending upon how long it has been sitting in the Amazon warehouse, you may have an older version of firmware and might experience a few bugs. That was our case. We had a few problems with erroneous notifications that were rectified as soon as the firmware updated. The update, you find the firmware version in the device and tap it. The firmware does update automatically. But if it’s your first time setting up, it’s good to manually update the devices. We would love to see a way in the app to review the firmware status of all devices on one screen and manually trigger a firmware update for all devices from that same screen with a single click. But this is merely a want, not a flaw. Do not forget to edit the alarm strategy before you start using the system. It appears to default in the app to multiple strategies, which can mean getting an app notification, an email notification, and or text message notification each time something is opened or motion is detected. That might be something to look into on the app development side as far as prompting you during set up to choose your desired preferences. We have had no difficulties with the devices maintaining contact with the network hub. The network hub has reported itself going offline once or twice overnight, but this appears to be momentary and related to a firmware update automatically applying and automatically rebooting the device. Battery life so far appears to be really good. We are surprised by the quality of the 3M self adhesive tape on each one. There is no alcohol wipes provided, but we used simple rubbing alcohol and a cloth to clean the surfaces prior to sticking the devices on. You can do similar or just make sure that it’s really clean. As a test, we applied some of the devices to a surface that was not prepared/cleaned ahead of time. those devices have no problem sticking to the surface and have not fallen down. They appear to be well secured when we try to tug on them. We would love to see the adhesive strips offered as a replacement item for purchase. We can see down the road people moving devices around, say if they’ve changed their minds about location or if they move. We had also thought about having an extra mount for the motion sensor so we could move the motion sensor between different locations at different times. This was because we were only able to buy a limited quantity due to inventory at that time. But that is something that others might be interested in purchasing at a later date. The motion sensors have been updated to include sensitivity adjustment. They can be pretty sensitive, detecting slight movement even in the dark. We have no complaints. The range and spread appear to be great. The door/window sensor performs equally well. it can be mounted in virtually any orientation and still function so long as the sensor portion of each piece is within about 1/2 of an inch to the other. so you could even mount one of them at a 90° angle to the other. So long as they are within that distance to each other, they still function perfectly. We found this to be necessary with one door where we had a proper clearance on the door but did not have proper clearance on the frame. The products integrate seamlessly with IFTTT. We would love if the temperature/humidity sensor had the option to show more frequently than one hour on the history graph in the app. But the graph is clean, uncluttered and easy to read. We will soon be testing additional products. We are adding additional door sensors and motion sensors to the system, which will then have approximately 20 devices connected. We are also going to be testing for the first time the garage door motion sensor (ordered). We were originally going to test the motion sensor/ garage door opener combo, but none of the garage door openers we have available appear to be compatible. Afterwards, we will test additional devices on our “wish list.“ We have found zero indication of user data tracking, analytics tracking, or communication with ad servers on the app. It really does appear to be simply designed to do what it is supposed to do and nothing more. It’s refreshing. So to summarize, we can’t really find anything wrong. We have struggled to find anything to critique with the devices or the app. Everything works as intended and we are extremely pleased.

I have had issues where our fridge/freezer circuit board failed or the RV fridge popped a breaker and we weren't aware there was any issue for a while. I went looking for a solution and found these. Great reviews and, during the Amazon Prime sale a pretty good price. We also have a two story detached garage that is climate controlled with mini splits for each floor and I just had to have both units serviced after the summer heat got them up to 90+F so, although less critical than the fridges, I was looking for a way to keep an eye on those as well. So, in addition to this hub package, I also bought some extra add on sensor units. The app and setup was super easy and I now have everything monitored with alerts set. The range appears to be as they stated with the 2nd floor garage monitor showing full signal strength through two Hardie board exterior walls. I hope the batteries last as long as they claim and will come back and update this review if not. Anyone wishing to monitor temperature/humidity around their property, I would highly recommend this setup!

It is rare that I find products that warrant a glowing review. YoLink deserves it. LORA is a great technology that eliminates many WiFi problems. I am a retired person in Pennsylvania who spent 37 years working for an international technology hardware, software and services company. I have had a long standing appreciation for using technology in my home to make it safe, automated, secure and detect hazards earlier rather than later. I have a home in Pennsylvania and on Cape Cod and must be able to monitor and control both homes remotely and locally from wherever me and my family are. We recently had a blizzard in Massachusetts and adjoining states, got 2 feet of snow and spent 4+ days on our generator. Cable and WiFi were out and I was blind for 4 days. We were 432 miles away, fortunately, in our PA home. There was an opportunity for every kind of problem to happen if we were not prepared to avoid loss of power, loss of heat, freezing pipes and more. That is routine regardless of the time of year or weather outlook. I have more work to do to reduce the impact of a cable/wifi outage given the impact on camera, 4 zones of heating, sensors, water shutoff and more. Fortunately, the generator and alarm connections are cellular. While I have WiFi thermostats (4), I have multiple refrigerators and freezers and wanted to replace my old Lacrosse temperature sensors and have been looking for a while. A major concern was distance from my router and the need for a signal strong enough to get to the router and through freezer walls and floors. I finally turned to AI and posed my housing and refrigerator/freezer needs along with our generator and the need for remote control of any one house at a given time. I also have unfinished areas in the basement and attic that I wanted to know the temperature. AI came up with a shortlist and a good explanation of how LORA could solve my distance concerns. I installed 6 sensors and two hubs at each of both houses quickly and was looking at live data right away. I added 3 temperature sensors with displays in 3 of the bedrooms in my PA home and would like to do that and more at our Cape house. The products are very good at what they do. I would love to use YoLink’s water sensing devices in both homes but have a lot invested in Moen Flo water shutoffs and a large number sensors everywhere there is water. I have occasional connection issue and offline problems do to WiFi which I wish I had avoided if LORA had been around. I use Ring cameras to be able to visually monitor many of the areas that have water sensors and HVAC. I often run into WiFi problems at the wrong time. This is similar to the WiFi issues I have with GE Sync WiFi switches I use for inside and outside fans and lighting through an. YoLink can provide a sound solution for a lot of needs with fewer manufacturers involved. I have 5 different apps to check everything and my temperature monitoring is just great. If I was starting from the beginning I would use YoLink for as much as I could to improve availability and reduce the applications I need to keep up with.

Setup: Setup could not be easier. 1. Install app, 2. setup hub 3. add sensor(s). 4. Update Firmware. To make the hub setup quick and easy it's best to connect the hub to your router with an ethernet cable. The instructions have you scan a barcode on the hub using the app to register it, then power it up. It came online within a few seconds. WiFi can then be setup while it is connected via ethernet cable. If you wish to use WiFi power off and relocate the hub. It takes about 30 seconds to join WiFi after being powered up. Adding the sensor(s) is similar. Scan the barcode on the device with the app, then turn it on using a switch on the back of the unit. It will connect to the hub quickly. It is best to configure all the alerts and other settings while you have the sensor on a desk, then when the configuration is complete place the sensor where it is needed. Both the hub and sensor had the latest firmware as delivered which is awesome. Use: The LCD's still work even at freezer temperatures of -5f. The batteries in the LCD sensors will not last very long in a freezer. maybe 9 months, I have ordered some sensors that do not have an LCD and come with Lithium batteries good for 5 years. I'm really impressed how well the sensors work inside a freezer clear the other side of the house from the hub. It lives up to the hype. Sensors contact the hub about once per minute. App: The app is very good, there are some really detailed statistics you can view and there is an option to download data. I have included a screen shot of one of the charts showing a 24 hour view, Alerts: After setting thresholds, alerts can be sent via the app on your phone, an email, or SMS. SMS is limited to 15 SMS's per month but email works just fine and has no limit. Yolink Eco system: The number and variety of devices you can add to the hub is impressive. Given how easily the system and app works I'll be adding devices in the future. Highly recommended. Update:Jan 2026. The batteries showed half a charge after 14 months in a fridge. I replaced the alkaline AAA batteries with Energizer Lithium cells.

Our kitchen fridge died recently while we were away and we ended up coming home to a stinky and very not-fun surprise. In theory if we had known, we could have asked someone to help us to take care of it while we were away. Therefore after purchasing our new fridge we chose to buy this temp and humidity monitor to help keep us informed of any weird temp fluctuations that may signal any kind of malfunction. First of all these monitors look great - they display the temp and humidity on the front screen in simple, easy to read, standardized characters - which is super convenient when you open your fridge and just want to quickly glance at the current stats. The accompanying "Yolink" iPhone application offers much more features and allows you to track and export the measurement data and history, along with setting thresholds/intervals for sending alerts. Alert options include email, SMS, and in-app notifications - and they all work quite well. Also, unlike some other types of monitors, the entire monitor can live inside of the fridge and it will broadcast a Wifi signal from inside without having to run an unsightly cable from it (through the door seal or through a hole). Since this particular set came with two sensors - we placed one sensor in our upstairs fridge and one in our downstairs (spare) fridge. As our home is over 2500 square feet, we set up the the hub to be somewhere in-between and to date the hub is receiving very strong signal. My only complaint is that the set up instructions are written in very small writing and I had to repeat the set-up process twice to get mine to function properly. For whatever reason upon initial setup my pieces were not connecting. There are steps where I had to connect the hub to my wireless router etc. that may or may not apply to your situation. In the end though, it connected and is up and running. Only time will tell how long the batteries will last for each sensor while stationed inside of the fridge. So far so good though, highly recommend this set if you are like us and want to avoid the situation of a monitor device sitting outside of the fridge while running a probe inside of it through either a hole or between the door seal.

I bought this after a freezer was accidentally unplugged and ended up ruining $100s worth of food. Setup was very easy. Downloaded the app, paired the base, then paired each sensor. It took all of 15 - 20 minutes. The signal seems strong enough for my use, there is about 20ft between my freezers and the base. So far the battery has stayed strong and the connection has been stable between both the sensors and to WIFI. A few days after setting the sensors up, I found that one of my freezers was not consistently getting to the deep freeze temperature range, I was able to adjust the thermostat and the food isn't burning as quickly in that freezer anymore. The device likely paid for itself with that single discovery. A bonus is that I found YoLink has an integration with Home Assistant. It allows me to double down on the alerts and get the freezer temperatures on my dashboards for additional ease of mind.

I bought, maybe more like invested in, some YoLink products five years ago. I started with the Hub package that included two temperature sensors. I put one in our RV frig and the other in its freezer. Some RV refrigerators are fickle. Ours was. I needed to keep an eye on it. These temp sensors were perfect watchdogs. Luckily, I found a leak in the plumbing bay before it damaged anything, so I bought a leak detector sensor and an extra sensor “rope” to insure against future issues. I wondered how sensitive the leak detector was so I tested it. ONE drop is all it took. That sensor sounded like a fire engine AND sent an alarm to my phone. Great sensor and worth every penny. We live in an older home now. It has a garage but no integrated door open sensor. My wife or I occasionally left the door open when leaving, (senior moment, I guess) so I added a garage door sensor to our sensor pack. Some more peace of mind. The YoLink site states, “Up to 2 years battery life”. We get up to about one year. And I’m not upset. The batteries are easy to replace, AND the APP informs you when they become exhausted. My ONLY concern has been how dependable my sensors are, not a battery life claim. YoLink works great for us.

Grundsätzlich funktioniert das Produkt sicher gut aber das Problem ist das es aus Amerika kommt und über den US Server läuft. Zusätzliche Geräte bekommt man nur sehr schwer über die Amerikanische Seite und dort wuchern die Preise wegen des Versandes + Zollgebühren. Ein anderer Anbieter aus England auf Amazon hat nur Sensor ohne Hub verkauft, hab den dann aber nicht mit diesen Hub verbinden können, da der Sensor Plötzlich eine andere Typennummer hatte, und der dann auf dem EU Server laufen sollte. Für EU habe ich aber keinen anderen Anbieter mehr gefunden und schließlich alles wieder zurück geschickt.

Lovely device to monitor the temperature

The hub is an absolute pig to set up but once you have done then it’s a great piece of kit for ensuring that I’m notified if the freezer out in the garage fails. I’m using the other sensor to keep an eye on the temperature in the freezer in the house. * important to note that it will initially tell you that no internet has been found - just ignore it and carry on with the set up*

Excellent quality hardware, well packaged upon opening. Hub and sensors both seem solid, not cheaply made and great quality. Setup was very easy, less than 5 minutes. Recommended setup is to hardwire hub by ethernet cable to router or your home hub. Connected within 10 seconds. Lights easy to see for power and internet connection. Using smartphone to scan QR code simple and identified hub immediately. App on phone allowed hub to be assigned to a room. App simple to use and I linked the Yolink app to my Google Home without difficulty. Temperature sensors also worked right away, no issues with identification of product using QR code on devices. Converted from Farenheit to Celcius easily. Temperature readings instantly and calibrated perfectly to temperature measured by another device. Easy to set up warning temperature alerts and both unlimited email and limited SMS texting alerts (20/month) included as part of product purchase.
