These counter stools are beautiful! I have been looking at stools for our new kitchen for months and finally decided on to purchase these. Because they were not Amazon Prime eligible, shipping was supposed to take 8-10 days but it was still free. Instead, the stools arrived in just three days! They were well packaged and arrived in excellent condition. After lots of research on these stools, I never found any documentation that stated that these were in fact 24" tall counter stools but based on the model number of the stools that I purchased (D542-124) and the others that are offered, I decided to make an educated guess and go for it and got it right. So, for others who are wondering, the last 2 digits "24" is the seat height. These stools look fantastic at my counter height island. They are heavy, very sturdy and comfortable! I was worried about how comfortable they would be since there weren't any other reviews online and our local Ashley store didn't have these in stock for me to try out first. The wood is a stained brown and is slightly distressed. There are areas of the wood that are still a little rough as though it wasn't completely sanded (but nothing too major) and that's what I wanted; nothing too sleek or polished. The metal ring around the bottom and the metal on the backs are also brown in color. I have oil rubbed bronze fixtures in the kitchen and they go very well with that. The leather seats are soft to the touch and I love the nail head detail. My kitchen is a combination of blacks and browns. The island cabinets are black and the perimeter cabinets are brown. While the kitchen has somewhat of a modern feel to it with stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops and oil rubbed bronze fixtures, I have natural hickory hardwoods and a great farmhouse table to add some traditional style back in. These stools definitely help bring that traditional feel over to the island. Putting them together was simple. After unpacking, it only took about 20 minutes to put together each stool (and that was with the help of my 6 year old). There are 17 screws in total to build the stools. THAT'S IT!!! The eight screws to attach the legs and the four screws to attach the metal ring must be tightened with an allen wrench (provided). The remaining five screws hold the back on to the stool and can be tightened with a Phillips screwdriver. I can't speak to how well these will hold up to use since I just received them and put them together this morning. I will try to remember to come back in a few months and update on how they are doing!

I was in need of just 1 tall chair for my kitchen counter eating area, and so I went out to some so called "furniture stores" in my area here of Connecticut. At the stores I went to, they all had very similar chairs as this Ashley Caitbrook chair, except they were anywhere from $500 - $700 [plus tax]. I really totally was shocked to see how expensive they were, for only 1 chair [not 2 or 3 for that price]. After seeing the same very high prices all around, I came here to Amazon and found this chair which looked nice and the price was even nicer. So I took the chance and bought it and I'm very pleased to find out that this chair is of very good quality, very solid and doesn't look cheap. My counter is a height of 36 1/2", and the leg clearance underneath is 34 1/2", and so I did have to cut off 2 inches off of each leg on my miter saw, for the proper height for leg clearance and where my dining plate would be. Nevertheless, I'm very thrilled with my purchase and this chair really compliments my granite countertops with more or less the same matching gray color. The price point makes me feel like I saved a lot of money, which is always a wonderful feeling when I purchase something of quality. For which I say A+A+A+!

We purchased 4 of these great stools on Amazon Prime Day for the great price of $77 each (dark gray, 24-inch seat height). All 4 stools arrived in 2 days, well packed, and in perfect condition. These stools are made of solid wood and metal construction with a thick plastic like distressed barnwood coating/stain over all of the wood parts. The dark gray seats are covered in a smooth, thick cloth. All of the assembly bolts are high quality, and all of the bolt holes line up perfectly. All 4 legs are nearly the same length (within a couple of millimeters), and the stool does not wobble if the legs are adjusted properly during assembly. Assembly is easy, even with just one person doing it. I had all 4 stools built in a little over an hour and a half (including unpacking them). All 17 of the assembly bolts are blister packed and labeled, along with a 4mm, 5/32" Allen Wrench. I did not use the Allen Wrench, and used a 4mm Allen socket and a 3/8" ratchet instead, in order to speed up the assembly process. When attaching the legs, be sure not to over-tighten the bolts, as this will definitely warp and/or crack the leg support blocks. There should still be a slight gap between the leg and support block when properly assembled. Also, make sure to keep ALL of the leg bolts loose until final assembly, or the metal foot ring will "seem" to be too large of a circumference for the 4 legs. Once everything is assembled, then go back and tighten all of the leg bolts. The back rest requires a large Phillips screwdriver to install the 5 attaching bolts. Also, make sure to check the tightness of the 5 pre-installed bolts on the rear top of the back rest, as I found a few of them to be slightly loose. Once assembled, the stools are all great looking, wobble-free, and they swivel smoothly. Overall, I highly recommend these stools. They look great, and seem very sturdy and durable, but only time will tell on the overall durability aspects. If anyone is looking for some great bar or counter height stools, then look no further than these excellent stools.

Very sturdy and a bit heavy. Well engineered and went together easily. Don't tighten all the screws until assembled and standing up. Comfortable for a stool.

Great value, compared to local furniture stores it was cheaper to purchase from Amazon. Very sturdy.

These are awesome chairs! Sturdy, stylish and easy to assemble.

It was relatively easy to put together as instructions were clear and hardware parts, etc. were well sorted and packaged. There was an issue with one leg being 1/8 inch shorter than the rest. A bit confusing as one might expect that all legs would be factory cut and inspected. This was overcome by using a second floor pad on the short leg, however, it would be nice to have the one leg replaced with one of the proper length. Delivery time was great - being ordered on a Wednesday evening with delivery promised for the Saturday. Package actually arrived on the Friday.

I had been looking for stools for our counter for a while. These ones match so well to the décor and are so sturdy. I was nervous ordering these but I am not disappointed at all. Well made!
