Great Quality Product and Company Customer Service.
Great product and company customer service. I have been using this tool for two years now without an issues. One Saturday while working on my road bike, it broke. That Saturday, I send an email to Tekton explaining the problem and asking on how to start the warranty claim process. Following Monday morning, I got a reply from Russ. He explained why the tool may have stopped working and that he will send me a replacement as soon as I provided my address. No hassle, no questioning and not waste of time, isn't that impressive. In two days on Wednesday I got my new Tekton torque wrench. I was impressed. Every time I need a tool from now on I will try to get a Tekton. By the way, the issues was that I was storing the tools way below the lowest setting making the internal parts to become lose. Here is the sequence of emails fro proof: Hi Hadad, Thanks for the quick response. Your replacement torque wrench is on the way out, and you should see it in a few days. Just remember to never turn this one below the lowest setting of 20 inch-lbs and you should be all set. Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you. Thanks! The torque wrench is probably not clicking because you have it turned down below the lowest setting. Taking the wrench below the lowest setting of 20 inch-lbs can allow the internal mechanism to rotate out of place, ruining the wrench. Confirm your address for me and I can get a replacement out to you. Why didnt I buy this sooner!
Well the only negative is, is that it took me so long to buy this thing! I fiddled with the cheap $20 Harbor Freight 1/4" torque wrench, but after a few returns I had it... I kind of made me think Tekton would be the same hit or miss Torque wrench at a value price. I was wrong... Just received and already put it to use.. Directions are simple and so is the maintenance.. Store it i the low setting and dont knock it around.. Pretty simple.. Ok so how does it work.. well flawlessly.. The dial is easy to read, the torque down bolt to lock your setting keeps it exactly where you set it without having to worry as you torque your bolt that the dial will rotate (Harbor Freight Flaw #1.) The thing clicks! even at the lowest torque setting, it will let you know when you hit the torque value you set as you turn the bolt! (Harbor Freight problem #2.) Finally this thing seems to be built well, at least its heavier and sturdier than than the Harbor Freight cheapo I had... Ok in summary, buy it! It works, its great, time will tell how reliable it is.. But considering this will be used maybe 3 times a month, I would think it will last forever without a re-calibration.

You Had Me Worried
I read some reviews with a number of people complaining regarding the lack of an audible click. This had me a bit worried, but after using the tool I have to assume they are deaf. It does indeed make a sound and there is a shift in the head just like all other torque ratchets. It behaves much like a like a torque wrench, but on the scale I would expect. I had some torque screws to snug down to a rather specific 45lbs and after using the torque wrench I was left wondering... that's about how much I would have done by hand. Still, it is an expensive part I would rather not replace and that is the reason to use a precision instrument. I will say, this could have been shipped with a little less twist on the grip. Generally, torque wrenches should be set to a non-tension setting when stored. Personally, I drive it back as much as the container will allow. It is hard to blame the manufacturer when Amazon engages in a lot of weird return practices. Anyhow, the unit itself seems of reasonable quality (for the price), delivered in a state of the art plastic molded piece of awful storage container. It should stand the test of time given how often I actually have to use a torque wrench. My only particular gripe is the adjustment on the handle. Roughly every three to four turns it requires a bit at the base of the ratchet be adjusted. This gets annoying quickly and I wouldn't recommend this for more then occasional usage. Given the price range and capabilities, if you are using this about the same frequency as myself, it is a fine tool for the price. Probably a hair better then the AutoZone special I picked up a while back. You might have guessed I don't spend a lot on tools I use about three times a year. If this actually cost a bit it would be a four star review for the annoyance, but I'm adjusting up because it is a five star for the pennies I spent. Take that for what it is worth.

Awesome quality for the price
I bought both the 1/4" and 3/8" versions, so Iโm dropping the same review on both since my experience has been equally awesome with them. Iโve been using these for years on bikes, motorcycles, cars, you name it, and they always deliver fantastic results. It looks super slick, too. The finish is really clean, and the numbers are printed perfectly crisp. Super easy to use, top-notch build quality, and they come in a heavy-duty case that makes storing and carrying them a breeze, plus their size makes total sense for this kind of tool. I like the digital models too, but I went with these to avoid future headaches with dead batteries, busted sensors, or screen issues. These just sit out in my shop and don't need to be babied. The ratcheting action is super smooth, and the clicks are really crisp and satisfying. They have a nice weight to them and feel super solid and sturdy when you use them. The visual torque scale is really clear and nicely incremented, letting you dial in your settings with spot-on precision. Iโd give it an extra star if it were bi-directional to measure torque in both directions!

Recommended.
Looks, feels works just like the 3/8 and 1/2 inch version I already own. Top quality and not very expensive.

The right tool for the job!
Yeah, I used a torque wrench. Who knew? I'm not big on tools, but I'm getting to the age where I think I can fix things better than pros and save myself some money. So, I got out and buy the parts and the tools to do that one job. Pretty smart, huh? I got a new Honda mower to use at the house I just bought this summer, and the first time out, I hit a steel or cast iron pipe sticking out of the ground next to a water meter casing. The grass hadn't been mowed in a while since it was being sold. I saw the big water meter casing, just not the pipe. I heard a loud clang and the mower shut off. I turned it over and saw the blade had a good bit of damage. Nuts. So, I read up on the replacement procedure and saw that there was a very specific amount of torque required when attaching the new blade, so I got this Tekton Torque wrench based on other reviews. It worked like a charm! The instructions are very clear and changing the settings are a breeze. I had the job done in no time. From what I can tell, the quality is very good, and it seems to have a robust build quality to it. I've bought several Tecton tools this past year and everything I've tried has exceeded my expectations. If I can figure this out and use it, you won't have a problem either. My only problem is that I never needed a torque wrench before, and I don't know if I'll ever need one again. So, for now, I've got it under my pillow--at least until I start mowing again.

Heavy Duty Case
I have two of this branded torque wrenches; a 1/4" and 3/8". They're mechanical, so you need to set them to the specified setting when in storge to maintain accuracy.

Ottima

Very good
Audible click, good packaging, clear text on torque increments, and has a good feel. Torqued my intake manifold bolts without issue.

Caliberation is in/lb and not nm
Its caliberated at in/lb (US style) measurement and not nm. And all measurements on my vehicles are nm, so I am always converting the values which are never perfectly doable like 18nm is 158.31 in/lb. How do you get that? Though it does have the nm measurements also marked on the other side, it really has very odd intervals, so you are just left with coverting and calculating. The product otherwise seems pretty good and is well finished. But a torque wrench's job is to give me correct torque, and it makes it very difficult to get it correct on this one
