Could this be used in a photography studio to blow a subject's hair during a shoot?

In short yes! Providing of course it's pointed in the right direction and angle. However, you might have to be a little creative in keeping the device out of the image shoot. It's powerful, but needs to be fairly close to the subject in use in that scenario I would imagine. Sorry, never used it for that need.

Can it dry carpets in a room ?

Yes. I’m a carpet & upholstery cleaner. You can just put something thin under the back (piece of folded cardboard is what I use) to angle it down slightly so it’s blowing more at the carpet.

Can it be left running long term?
