I have given up using a large petrol chainsaw as it became to difficult to start, too noisy in use and smelly. I looked for a well reviewed electric model that could manage decent sized logs and was light enough for prolonged use. I was amazed with the reasonable price of the Hyundai especially as it was about the same as the budget or reconditioned models from Screwfix and Tool Station. I watched the online video prior to assembling the saw and found it very easy to follow and was able to put it together in a few minutes. All the parts are good quality and there are no flimsy or cheap seeming components. It cuts smoothly and powerfully with no tendency to bind or kickback. It is far quieter and there is no blue smoke to contend with. The oil level is easy to check and top up when needed. All in all a great value purchase for a quality product.

This is a very competent electric chainsaw. I've now used it a lot and I'm very impressed. It's not upto Stihl quality but it is very good for the price.

Needed to clear last winter’s storm damage before my little one turned the back garden into another football pitch, so I plugged in Hyundai’s corded saw and hoped for the best. Five minutes later I was grinning like a lad half my age. Under that blue casing sits a punchy 2400W motor driving a 40 cm Oregon bar, plenty for the ash trunk that had been sulking across the veg patch. And because it only weighs a touch over five kilos I could hold it steady without my elbows turning to jelly, surprising given I’m more spreadsheet than lumberjack these days. So after two afternoons I’ve a neat log pile for the stove, no sore shoulders, and a tool that feels built to last. Quality cut, easy tension knob, decent value in my book. Look forward seeing how it performs long term.

Hi i am really pleased with my chainsaw i was looking at all of the different ones and I saw this one for £55:99 and thought why is it cheaper than the other ones,and i thought well i will take it chance and try it because all the other stuff I have purchased from Amazon has been okay,and i am over the moon its excellent and really strong and it goes through the wood so easy and very good value for money thank you kind regards Mo

This the second one of these I have bought. The first one lasted one cut bofore being engulfed in a ball of smoke, this one has lasted 6 months, during which I have used it 5 maybe 6 times before the exact same thing. Up until then it was quite good. Will I be getting another one? NO, NO, NO!!!

Just got finished using this to cut back an unruly laurel bush (which is a fairly hard wood) for my folks, and it worked just fine (see pictures). It's kind of noisy so you're probably going to want some ear protection. Assembly is very straightforward and there are great instructions, and tensioning the chain correctly is really very easy. You're obviously not going to be cutting down any mighty oaks with a chainsaw this small but for smaller jobs the speed and power are just fine I reckon. The instructions are fantastic; detailed well-written and aimed at complete novices like me, and they tell you not just how to maintain this chainsaw in particular but how to use chainsaws safely in general. Plus you get Hyundai's 3 years warranty as well - I've used their after sales care service before and it's excellent. Oh, and remember to order some chainsaw oil when you buy this.

The Hyundai 1600w / 230v, 14" Bar Powerful Electric Chainsaw is terrific value for money. Compact, easy to assemble, easy to use, quiet compared to a screaming two stroke engine and efficient. Bought as a hand, easy to use saw when you have power nearby. Simple to start, unlike my big chainsaw ! I bought the Hyundai chain saw, three spare blades and a litre of C/S oil for just under £100. The round open the C/S to put the chain on and tension it works well. If the chamber fills up with cuttings then you can't tension the chain properly, so UNPLUG the power and open the C/S up, clear out the debris. put it back together and check the oil and retention the chain ~ less than 5 minutes !! The chains have a tough job as there aren't that many teeth to cut. When sharp it works wonders and when it starts going blunt ~ CHANGE THE CHAIN ~ it can only cut so much and still be sharp. With a set of sharp chains you can change the chain and start again in just a few minutes. Just save the chain sharpening for a rainy day job in the shed/workshop/kitchen. For a little electric chainsaw I can recommend the Hyundai 1600w / 230v, 14" Bar Powerful Electric Chainsaw from Amazon. Don't forget your spare chains and oil. As for the bonus ~ it has a three year warranty !!!

So easy to assemble and get started. Would give it 5 stars but small safety issue. I’d made 6 or so cuts putting the saw down between each cut. Picked it up to make another cut and chain unexpectedly spun round. On inspection the little trigger lock button had stuck in after last use. Experts might say always apply chain brake between cuts but who’s going to do that?
