Having never had spotted dick before, I can only assume that this is perfection? Maybe its because I love spiced cake! This was easy to make, and totally tasty. I would definitely buy it again. Fun for Americans to try!

Forget the name; it’s delicious
When microwaved for thirty seconds, the pudding pops out of the plastic container. It has perfect texture. Served it with Devon Custard. Delicious. My spouse and I liked it enough to order a pudding pan to make spotted dick at home.

Probably good for spotted dick. Not a fan but I had to try a little spotted dick. I used it to 3 stars. It's not your fault that it's just not very palatable for me and I don't think it's just the name. Reminded me of my grandmother's 6 cup pudding.

Perfect for an American's First Taste of a certain British Pudding.
A few things for my Fellow Americans to understand about Spotted Dick (It's the name of the food, Amazon, please be understanding here). First off, the name has ties to an ancient term for dough which was pronounced "Dik." Has nothing to do with anatomy. Second, to the British, a pudding is not exclusively the soft and creamy custard-like dessert. It can also apply to small cake-like desserts, including this one. Think of that old Christmas Carol "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" and when the song references "Figgie Pudding." This is the kind of "pudding" it refers to in the song (not the exact same pudding but it is the same definition of "pudding"). Now, SD is, essentially a small ball shaped cake with raisins. It's a nice little sweet treat and in this particular case is easy to prepare. Follow the instructions, nuke it in the microwave, plop it onto a plate, let it cool a little bit, and then enjoy. Quite nice as a gateway experience for British desserts. I imagine a properly made pudding though, boiled in a bag, will taste much better by comparison, but this microwaved pre-prepared version is an excellent starting point.

Wierd name, good flavor.
Purchased to try it, as I had read about it as a menu item on sailing ships in Nelson's navy. Wasn't bad, would eat it again, but I don't have any prior experience to compare it to.

Good snack but wish it were available closer to home
This snack was a gift to my boyfriend that has wanted to try these for years. The shipping cost more than the actual product. The pudding cakes were just ok. I waaayyyy overpaid. Glad we tried them but I’d never order them online again.
