Preschools: When to go, why to go! Review: A must for 1st time parents!! - Just like the Baby 411 book before it... I reference this thing constantly! Saved me a few phone calls to the doctor for what, looking back now, were silly questions, but at the time, first time mom, I had no idea. Not saying I reference this instead of medical advice; I do still call the doctor with concerns, but it gives good advice especially for different ways to approach your child and their behaviors. Not just one sided, there are a lot of different options, which is great because as all parents know, what works for some kids, won't work for all kids, everyone is different! Review: Must have!!!!!!!! - Must have. Great reference to have on hand, really helps to make the doctor visits you need to have more concise. Great info like questions you should ask, what might be behavioral vs. Medical, when should you call the doctor, and even stuff like omg my crazy little one just fell and hit their head (quick guide for getting them safely to the doctor and when it might just be a bump). I especially love the nutritional information and tips. It's written by a doctor who is also a mom which makes it perfect because you can tell she understands worrying about your kid and wanting the best for them, while knowing medically what is best (she even admits when these two lines of thought may seem in opposition to each other, and takes the time to explain why) I recommend this to anyone with a toddler

Great Resource
Love this series. Quick to read, easy to reference. Parenthood on the fly--great resource to have and gift to new families. Wish these had been gifted to me as a new mom at a shower.

EVERY PARENT'S MUST-READ. Seriously.
These books are written by my daughter's pediatrician. So I can tell you first hand that Dr. Brown is an AMAZING doctor. She's very thoughtful, has a data driven and investigative approach to solving baby and toddler "problems". And by that I really mean she's the perfect bridge between parents and our understanding of the world and children and what's happening in their world. I give this and the Baby 411 book to all of my friends who are having babies and I regularly go back and read parts of it in times when lack of sleep or frustration is getting to me. My whole perspective and approach will instantly shift with a few wise words from Dr. Brown.

No multipe advice this time
I gave Baby 411 five stars, and I do like this one as well, but I find that we are not referring to it as often as we did the first installment. First, our parenting style seems to align with the recommendations in this book anyway, so for us it seems like a lot of common sense advice that we already knew. Secondly, there are several sections that are repurposed from the first book. The one thing I miss is that the first book has little stories and tips for moms of multiples. This book is lacking that, and tips for dealing with toddler challenges unique to homes with more than 1 baby (we have 2) would be helpful. For example, what do you do when two infants are throwing a tantrum at the same time? What about dealing with copycat behavior (my brother is crying so I'm going to join in for no apparent reason)? We'll just have to figure it out on our own.

Every parent needs this book!
As a nurse in a busy pediatrician's office, I wish every parent had a copy of this book as well as the baby version. I give this exact advice to new parents over the phone and in person every day, all day. Less fear-mongering than some of the popular books, and gives realistic advice with a nice sprinkling of humor. This book is a must for new parents!

Great book, but lots of content straight out of Baby 411
I loved Baby 411 so when I finished it I immediately ordered Toddler 411. Like Baby 411, it is a great resource--but be warned: entire as well as partial chapters are pretty much identical to chapters in Baby 411 with a few additions and adjustments. There is honestly not a lot of new content here.

Must have for parents!
I love the "411" series. We received "Baby 411" the first week our son was born. He's our first child, and I'm so glad we had this book because we had no idea what we were doing. The book helped us so much! When my baby turned into a toddler I had to buy Toddler 411. No way was I navigating that without it. It has so much information that's easy-to-read. I find it difficult to find good/sound information about babies and toddlers on the web. This is information I can trust from expert sources.
