86 09 250 V01 Tools - Jaw Protectors for New 10" Pliers Wrench 86 XX 250 (8609250V01)

Great find great addition to my toolbox. For years I have been scratching the connection to my shower heads when changing them out. Even after applying tape to the jaws of the pliers, I still scratched the pieces. Finally got these and wow no scratches at all. They fit multiple size pliers so they can be easily moved from one size. Highly recommend

I used these to take off my brass shower head, they do slip a little bit since there's no teeth or anything but they seem to work good enough to get the job done. Recommended if you have the Knipex pliers wrench. Note the size is per the smaller or larger wrench. They stay on well, matter of fact takes some effort just to get them off.

Protects what I'm gripping without interfering too much with my ability to grip. They will wear out eventually, and when they do I'll buy them again

They don’t mar up the chrome finish I use them for but they are ‘squishy’ and do not grip as well as if I didn’t have them on. After a few uses they start to not stay on the plier and I have lost a couple due to them not staying clipped. They’re functional enough but they do not grip as well. Would buy again.

These are for the newer version of the small pliers. They do not fit on the old ones

Not much to say about these other than they are great when you need to grip of your Knipex tools, but need to ensure you don’t mar the finish of what you’re working on.

Maybe these weren't quite what I expected but they fall off my 12" Knipex pliers constantly and they weren't useful when I was trying to tighten a fitting because it just seemed to increase slippage. I love my Knipex pliers but these felt like someone's 3D printer project and weren't the solution I was after (nor were they cheap).

I wasn't sure before I purchased, and Knipex even says they won't in a customer question above. But I took a chance anyway, and am glad I did. These popped right on to my 10" Cobras, and are pretty secure there. I have no doubt they would fit the 10" Plier Wrench even better. But if I didn't know better, I'd almost believe they were made for the Cobras. Certainly good enough for occasional use. Especially since I don't (yet!) own a Plier Wrench, these are very useful because the jaws on the Cobras, unlike the PW, have very aggressive, sharp teeth. So these protectors really transform the tool in the case of the Cobras. In fact, I found that in a pinch (no pun intended) I can even use these with my 10" Wiha sliding joint pliers (a Wiha version of the Knipex Alligators). With three sets to a pack, these are a great value. One obvious caveat: while these fit great over the jaws of the pliers, they don't have the same profile as the jaws. Unlike the Plier Wrench, the Cobra's jaws are indented, not flat. So, you'd want to be careful about gripping things from only the center with these attached. That said, the pads are surprisingly sturdy and I don't think it will be much of an issue. Handy to have and beats a towel.

Great addition to one of the best hand tools money can buy. A must when working with finished products that are visible on a daily basis. They stay put under load, leave zero markings on any materials I’ve used them on and are well worth the price.

This set is a must have if you do fine finishings or even regular moens . Doesn't mare your products and lots of grip power!!!! Used one matte black, brushed gold, bronze, copper DOESNT scratch, mare, dent . Just beautiful finishes!!!!!! And it's 3 sets. I didn't read where it said that. I thought it was only 1 set. Still worth it. !
