Great set for kids I really like all their items. Everything can be used outside the part that looks like the grill is cardboard though

any of this make noise or run electronically ?

Grill is just a box upside down. Food has Velcro so it can stick together. We have several of the Melissa and Doug food sets, they are very well made and the kids love them.

Is the box that doubles as the grill made out of wood?

Mmmm. I want to say it's actually cardboard unlike their other sets but I'm not 100% certain as we got as a gift for our son and it's currently wrapped up under the tree.
