Installing a ceiling fan outside where it may get rained on? Don't fabricate to keep your fan motor dry, use this. It is the ideal solution to keep your outdoor fan.

WIth the recent updates in the electrical codes since 2005. Ceiling fans require a box that is ceiling fan rated. That is outside and exposed to the rain, the ceiling fan shall be wet location rated. The box must also be rated. So many use the standard bell weatherproof round box, (that's not legal or rated for ceiling fan use) or (drill through the beam, use a pancake box, which the canopy is bigger than the beam. Another illegal install.) This box is outdoor, weatherproof, and ceiling fan rated. Even has a trim to allow the ceiling fan canopy to fit under. I have been buying these for my customers for years now. A great product that will pass NEC code and City inspection.

This was exactly what I was looking for, I just did not expect to find it all in one place. I installed a ceiling fan in a palapa (tiki hut), outdoors and onto to the bottom of a 4" diameter wooden post at the center of my structure. The electrical box comes with a circular plate that gives the ceiling fan shroud ( the cover that would normally snug up to a ceiling) a surface to stop on creating a nice neat look. The electrical box is threaded and ready for 1/2" or 3/4", making it easy to use liquid tight connectors. Quite happy with this!

So first, I love these!! Strong and protects from water. But buy new only!!!! I had to return 2 of these that were packed by Amazon warehouse because they were missing plugs, screws, and covers….basically useless. But I did order 3 new ones (new comes in a box, like new did not). The new ones were great. Only one was missing a set of screws ( but it was a size I didn’t need). These are perfect for our screened in porch & hold the ceiling fans perfectly! I could only find grey at the local big box stores but needed bronze, and Amazon delivered! And the cost was a couple of bucks less than the local stores.

Great product!. An easy to install. Fan canopy goes against the plate Fantastic! The reason I gave four star instead of five is because on one of the plates I had to drill out the holes in order for the screws to match with a mounting bracket. Not a big deal but that's why only 4:stars. Other than that the look. The performance is five star.

This is a very solid outdoor electrical box. It's extremely durable and well made and also includes an optional rain cover and also the adaptors / grommets you may need for different size cables and conduits. The markings on the box to help alignment are a nice touch and the hardware options (different screws depending on the application) included are very well made too. Very satisfied with these.

Very well made to hang a heavy ceiling fan for outside or damp locations. I had a hard time finding something like this, could have some side mount options to make it better for different applications.
