The Condiment Company Bearnaise Sauce 190g - Rich & Creamy Steak & Seafood Sauce, Ready to Eat Steak Marinade in a Jar

Way too sweet. This is not identifiable as béarnaise. Is more similiar to vanilla ice-cream. So disappointing as I would like to support a small independent company.

This is NOT Betnaise Sauce! There is no tarragon in it. We bought 2 jars and threw both out after first tasting!! It tastes like vanilla custard, very sweet. On checking out the ingredients it’s not hard to see why.

I wish I’d looked at the 1 star reviews before I bought this. I usually buy Benedicta Bearnaise sauce, which is delicious, but thought I’d give this a try. It tastes NOTHING like Bearnaise. There isn’t even a passing resemblance. It smells and tastes like weird caramel. It is utterly vile. I’ve eaten Bearnaise in dozens of different restaurants, some good, some ok, but they all tasted of Bearnaise, even the poor ones. I don’t know what this sauce is, but calling it Bearnaise should be illegal.

Sorry to say I have had to throw away all six jars that I foolishly bought. It hardly tastes of tarragon and is more like ice cream. If you are looking for bearnaise sauce I suggest you look elsewhere. Not a patch on Maille which is very difficult to get in the UK at the moment. Waitrose seems to be the only supplier at the moment. I've added one star in each section only because it does not accept no stars which is what I wanted to show.

Tried their Hollandaise and it was disgusting; sour, chemicals, sugar; vile. Not opening this, bought together for a special occasion, I suspect Bearnaise will be the same chemical and sugar structure so I'm not chancing it. And WHERE is sugar in Hollandaise? No decent recipe has sugar. But the chemical lemon taste was too much, vile.

This is NOT Bearnaise sauce, but it is all there is available in the UK now apparently since Maille Bearnaise doesn't seem to be imported any more *thank you, Brexit?". Seriously, The Condiment Company, get on a ferry to Calais, buy some Maille Bearnaise and taste what a bearnaise should actually taste like,. Your product is not remotely close to what a bearnbaise sauce should taste like. In the bin!

I'm sorry to the people who make this - but please for the love of all that's holy, stop making this. It's weirdly runny and just doesn't taste right. The after taste is even worse! It's a hard pass and the rest of the jar is in the bin.

doesn't deserve any stars. this was really dreadful. nothing like a bearnaise sauce. far too sweet. strong vanilla. runny. in the bin now.
