Great little thingy!
This pump is perfect for the job of cleaning my 3-gallon tank (which I keep in my college dorm room). I didn't want an electric gravel cleaner, as they are much pricier than this and not really intended for small tanks, but I wasn't faring very well without some sort of pump to get the gunk off the bottom. This is the perfect solution. It's cheap and it works. I just set up a bucket under my desk and let the water drain into that. It takes a couple squeezes, and once you get it going you have to work fast--but it won't ever empty your tank; it leaves behind about a gallon if you let it go till it's done. Always remove small fish first, and careful with the gravel. This sucks up anything it touches. I don't like the gravel attachment though; it's just too big, gets clogged up and prevents me from getting into small areas. It's really a very simple product. I love the simplicity.

Easy to use, controlled by hand pump
This is a perfect gravel vacuum if you don’t have rooted plants or small fry swimming around. After buying this, I found it for much cheaper on other websites. With that said, I treated for guppies for internal parasites and after two weeks I needed to clean the gravel. Very easy to use! You don’t have to suck on one end or submerge and tilt it at an angle- all you do is use your hand to pump the water out and downwards into a bucket. Gravel often gets stuck so you need to pull it out if the water for the gravel to drop down. Does its job!

As described. Works well. Can probably buy one at a pet or discount store much cheaper.

Amazing Siphon Power: Cleaned Aquarium Fast!
Just got this product in the mail the other day. Finally used it today to do a partial water change and vacuum up the gravel a bit. I've been using the most basic and smallest siphon / gravel vac purchased at Petsmart for the past few years on my 12 gallon aquarium. I thought that was sufficient enough (which in any case it works). However, I bought this one as a secondary siphon because I'll be getting another tank for my parents and I wanted to get a decent siphon that you didn't have to start the old fashion way (you know, jabbing it rapidly in the water to start the suction). Anyway, after a few rapid squeezes of the pump on this siphon the suction started... And let me tell you, this thing can suck A LOT of water FAST! I was surprised at the power this siphon has and how fast the water transferred out of my tank and in to my bucket, it was like a jet of water!!! Before you know it, by bucket was full and it literally cut my water change time in half! I got this siphon to use on a 12 gallon (nano cube) and a, soon to own, 6 gallon (fluval edge). However, with the power this siphon has and the attachments it comes with (extension for deeper aquariums and gravel vac) this can easily tackle a much larger tank. Although, if I had a larger tank of let's say >55+ gallons, I'd get a Python water changer (or comparable branded water changers from Aqueon or Lee's). Overall, this is the best siphon for the money to tackle small and large jobs. It's pretty versatile in that it comes with attachments. I also like how there's a netting inside the end that goes in to your tank so you won't accidentally suck up some fish or too much gravel (some gravel did get through on my experience because like I said, this thing has power).

Just What I Needed
This gravel vacuum is what I have been looking for. I use this unit on aquariums ranging from 20 to 40 gallons. The squeeze bulb makes it easy to begin the siphon. Once the siphoning begins, it is quite powerful, much more powerful than my other gravel vacuum and takes a lot less time due to the higher flow rate. It truly has reduced the amount of time it takes to do my weekly water changes. Another reason I purchased this item is that it has a long rigid stem, which prevents having to submerge your hands underwater while vacuuming / siphoning your tanks. It really comes in handy especially on my 20 gallon high goldfish tank. If you have fine gravel or a sand bottom in your tanks, go easy with this item because it will pick up and remove it.

Works Just Fine & Great Price!
What's not to like! Yes, cheaply made but very inexpensive to buy and get delivered at under $8 bucks! Does what it's supposed to. I use it for a 65 gallon saltwater for water changes although it does have a "gravel" head on the business end that goes into the tank. Very easy to start the siphon flow. Simply pump the blue bulb a few times and watch the water flow. Small and easy to store. Comes with an extension that can be used on either the tank end or the bucket end. I'm using it on the tank end and have added a short piece of hose for $3 that I bought at Lowe's. Cannot speak to durability, but more effective than the very pricey Aqueon I bought and returned for a refund as it was defective.

Effective and easy to use
This aquarium siphon is easy to use, and it does the job well. I can get it started with just a couple of squeezes, and I don't have to use my mouth (yuck!) or struggle with any awkward motions. It does a good job of siphoning the gunk out of the gravel in my ten gallon tank, and it doesn't remove the water too quickly or too slowly. There's a guard on the end that goes into the aquarium that prevents gravel from being removed, which is a nice feature. It has held up to being used twice per week for several months with no issues whatsoever.

Not great for a first timer.
I have never had to clean an aquarium and I did not want to start out with an expensive suction device, so I thought this would be a good trial. I followed the directions and what a mess I made. Gravel got stuck, water would not move, then it went too fast, almost sucked up the fish. Geez.... if you are not skilled, don't try this, or have someone show you the tricks. I was waving the tip around in the gravel to loosen up the debris and then the entire tank was floating mess and I could not suck it up and then took too much water out. Clean up not a breeze. Had to make sure rinsed thoroughly and then hung to dry for days and still water in the ridges. The hose was long enough and strong enough, the tip just did not work for me and I thought it would work better than it did. FISH AND I WERE NOT HAPPY CAMPERS!

Brilliant Pump for your Fish Tank or Aquarium...
Brilliant Pump, to think of all the hard work cleaning out my mothers Goldfish tank, if only I had known this pump was available before, it would have saved lots of time and effort cleaning out the tank. This pump makes the job of cleaning out a fish tank a joy instead of a chore, its so easy to use, just pumps the messy water into a bucket and all the bits your fish leave in the water, and u just refill the tank with fresh water, your fish is happy, u are happy, and it all takes less then ten minutes to do, unlike before. its also easy to clean, and once its dry, u just pop it back into the bag ready for next time. its easy to store as well, as its not very big, and takes up little room. the price was also great value and included delivery, which was super quick. I would recommend this to any fish keeper, as its so easy to use, great value, and your fish will love u for getting it 4 their tank. its 100 % u cant go wrong. I would never have believed it was so good if I had not seen it working with my own eyes, its just Fantastic. Thank you, :)
