Not for Pro use but pretty good.
I have mostly Fluke multi-meters, my oldest and the one I still use most is over 35 years old and still works perfectly. Before I retired I could justify £350 plus for each of these and they have paid for themselves many times over. But now when I needed an amp-clamp to check the integrity of glow plug circuits on my motor-home I had the choice of another new Fluke, to get a auto electrician in, or to buy this meter. Two of these options were very expensive one was not. Guess which one I chose. The manufacturing quality of this meter is not great but the cost was so low that had it only lasted one job it would have been worth it, although I do not as rule advocate buying to throw away. Actually I have used it a lot, partly because its small size makes it easy to get the amp clamp in small spaces. It is nowhere near as substantial as a Fluke but its not a twentieth of the price. So there has to be compromises somewhere. The plastic is quite flimsy and I assume the electronic components are probably not grade 1. As someone who regularly used to drop his meters off buildings and into running engines I don't believe it would stand up to heavy usage simply because its not armoured in the same way. And again because of the thinner plastics I would be wary of using it on higher amperage's,. But so far not only has it worked but it has worked well. So if you do not need a professional grade instrument that actually requires significant investment then I have no reason not to recommend this item.

Very good for the money does what it says on the tin very well
Well happy with this meter mainly use it for current checks nice little unit very happy with the meter

Amperage can only be measured with the clamp
Nice clamp meter with lots of features, nice to hold and adjust the dials all with one hand, the display lights up which is handy in a dark cupboard etc.the only thing I’ve noticed is that you can’t test amperage’s through the test leads! That may not mean a lot to most people, so if that’s you, then this meter will be ideal for you.I’m not sure if the instructions are correct but it says you can only test Hz up to 10volts, I think this must be an error but I’m not willing to try this out for myself. It has a handy feature of detecting live sockets without touching them and shows up red in the display to warn you of danger.

Reliable clamp meter with solid range—clear display, fast readings, and built for daily graft.
🧪 First LookPicked this up for site checks and van-side diagnostics—wanted something that handles AC/DC current, voltage, and continuity without dragging out a full bench setup. Straight out the box, it’s lightweight but feels solid. The clamp opens wide enough for chunky cables, and the LCD backlight is crisp even in low light.Auto-ranging works well—no fiddling with manual settings. Tested it on 12V van circuits, mains sockets, and a few battery packs. Readings were fast and consistent. The NCV (non-contact voltage) feature is handy for quick live checks—no need to probe.🧰 Real-World Use✅ Used for fault tracing, continuity checks, and voltage reads—no drama✅ Clamp handles thick cables—tested on 10mm² and up✅ Backlit screen easy to read in dim corners or under dashboards✅ Temperature probe included—tested it on a heater core, worked fine✅ Duty cycle and frequency modes useful for deeper diagnosticsAlso tested the resistance and diode modes—clean results, no bounce. Battery life’s solid, and the auto-off feature saves juice. Comes with a pouch, leads, and probe—ready to roll out of the box.👍 Pros✅ 600A AC/DC clamp—covers most site and van needs✅ 6000 count display—precise readings✅ Auto-range—no manual faff✅ NCV detection—quick live wire check✅ Backlit LCD—clear in low light✅ Includes temp probe, leads, and carry pouch👎 Cons❌ Clamp doesn’t measure DC current—AC only via clamp❌ No true RMS—watch for accuracy on variable loads❌ Plastic feels light—fine for daily use, but not ultra rugged❌ No magnetic strap or stand—needs flat surface or hand hold🧭 Final VerdictIf you want a clamp meter that’s accurate, compact, and built for real-world diagnostics, the HT206D earns its spot. I’ve tested it across van electrics, site gear, and home circuits—no drama, just clean readings and proper features. Good stash-ready kit for anyone who wants their testing sorted without the faff.

Great Back Up Unit
Handy when the battery fails in my main meter - seems absolutely fine and accurate. Like it.

Great value for the price
The KAIWEETS Clamp Meter HT206D has a surprisingly rugged feel. It's fairly heavy and does a wide range of measurements. It is autoranging, which I like because I don't have to set a range of amps before using it. I've used it to check the current being drawn through a cable and it worked as expected. The letters on the screen are clear and it is well backlit. It comes with 2 x AAA batteries, but I put my own Duracell ones in because I prefer that make. The clamp meter comes in a black nylon cloth case - not sure how long that will last as it's not padded. The cardboard box it came in is strong though so I'll keep it in that! It's easy to use, but there are instructions if needed.I can't believe how cheaply they make these things and I'd recommend this for any keen amateur DIY-er for checking car battery condition etc.

Just right for Abby use
Good price for a basic Clamp meter perfect for home use.

Pretty sweet meter.
It's much smaller than what you'd expect from the photos...something I liked. Working in Industry, I've used quality meters and this one is almost there...perfect for the home and hobbiest.

Great meter but terrible test leads
This Kaiweets HT206D clamp multimeter is great - I love it. For $48 it is a best buy.{{It competes well with my several hundred dollars Fluke multimeter. My biggest issue with Fluke is their probes are outrageously priced, but their meters are excellent.}}I have tested all functions, and it works very well. The clamping ammeter is a real plus. This is now my go-to meter for everyday projects. I like the fact that it uses two AAA batteries. I hate rechargeable anything and avoid them like the plague they are –always discharged when you need them most and you need to wait to recharge them. Not this meter – just slip in two new AAA batteries and you are good to go.Half the leads (mainly the fine pointed ones) that come with the meter, however, are crap and so is the optional Kaiweets 23-piece multimeter test lead kit. These have connectivity issues with either high ohms or ohms that continuously jump all over the place. They are held in place via a crimp and the conductivity is awful. The Kaiweets vendor replaced the 23-piece kit for me, but the replacement had the same conductivity issues.Save yourself time and aggravation, get a good lead set for this. I wasted a few weeks thinking the meter was bad when it was bad probes. These are the probes I ultimately settled on as excellent for this Kaiweets clamping multimeter: the Snakol 22-Piece Multimeter Test Lead Kit and the Bionso 25-Piece Multimeter Leads Kit - both at about the same price as the malfunctioning Kaiweets test probe kit. The main difference is the Snakol has longer probe handles which I like. I am using both sets, however. All the probes in these two sets have great conductivity and no issues and they fit the Kaiweets HT206D clamp multimeter. They give stable readings of 0-to-0.1-ohms.The main issue with these, however, is the probes need to be screwed into place with a wrench or needle nose pliers making changing probes more difficult. On the other hand, this is likely why they give such good conductivity. However, you can buy multiple sets so you can permanently set up the probes you use most frequently. Some of the other probes in the set are the plug-in type so they be changed easily and these have excellent conductivity as well. I find these two kits give me all the probes I need and more.
