Flip, Flap, Fly!: A Book for Babies Everywhere

Being a teacher, I wanted a book that shows how moms prepare their little ones for surviving in life... this book goes through a number of animals and how they teach their babies the skills they need to grow up and become adults. I also really enjoyed the almost tongue twister phrases like "flip, flap, fly" and the fact that each animal is partially shown before you turn the page hinting for the toddler to name it before the answer is given. Overall the book teaches animal names, colors, animal behaviors, rhyming, and animal habitats! I just love books that combine multiple levels of learning. Plus, the drawings were adorable! I really hope my son enjoys the book as much as I do. Overall, I am thrilled with my purchase, but i don't like that the human mom only teaches her toddler to kiss because that is not something that turns a toddler into an adult or helps him survive as an adult.... seriously she should have taught her son to walk or read or talk or just anything useful.... but the rest of the book was so good, that i can't take off a star for that minor issue.

This book is so sweet. Each page is filled with beautiful illustrations and flows really well with the story. The author has a great rhythm to the story and my kids loved reading this so much. It is my favorite book to purchase for baby showers.

Fun to read with babies! Board book is not machine-washable, so I had to buy another copy.

My mother bought this book for my daughter when she was around 3 months old. It’s been our favorite ever since, daughter is 16 months now. I always kissed her on the page about “Mama and the baby child” and she very early on learned to expect that and now she gives me kisses when we get close to that page! The book builds anticipation much like “Brown Bear Brown Bear, What Do You See?” but with more fun and cute rhymes about Mamas helping their babies added in. It’s well illustrated also. I have since bought several copies as gifts for new moms and babies. Highly recommend this for babies and toddlers alike.

I love buying this book for baby gifts! It’s a sweet story that can be read in a cheery, sing-song voice babies love. The pictures are charming. My daughter loved this one as an infant and we are still reading at 4 years old, we have it memorized!

This is the sweetest story. Even 10 years after starting to read it to my baby, we still have the sing songy verses in our heads. It is a book I gift for every baby shower.

This is a very cute book, but I'll be honest- it's a bit of a tongue twister! I wish it flowed just a little bit smoother for a read aloud. With that said, my 9 month old loves it. Great illustrations and it has a wonderful element of anticipation with trying to guy which animal might come next based on rhyming. It's a solid addition to any collection!

Both me and my 1 year old love this book. She loves seeing all the babies with their mamas. The artwork is really pretty and the verse is catchy.

Immediately grabs my child's attention from amongst all his books. Reads it multiple times everyday, with all his family members knowing the rhyme by now. Simple, uncluttered illustrations, introduction to various animals, and the sing song nature of the content are the book's best features.

Absolutely great book. My 7 month old loves to read this every single night, he's even learned to turn the pages in anticipation of the reveal of each baby animal on the next page. Pictures are lovely, rhyming is superb and length of story is great. ****Update***** My son is now 10 months and this is still his favourite book. Will gladly read this multiple times every day. Can’t rave about it enough. Will be needing a new copy soon lol! ****Update***** Now on my 4th copy of the book as my second son seems to it love it even more than my 1st!! Do not hesitate to purchase.

This is such a cute book for babies and toddlers. My daughter loves this one. The illustrations are super cute. She likes to point to the different animals and I name what they are. Has a really catchy little story. This is a book you’ll be reading over and over. Highly recommend!

Interesting book for kids..

I first read this book to my children (now 3 and 18 months) at the library. They LOVED it so much that I had to buy it. It has a great sing-song flow and has a sweet ending. Definitely one of the best baby / toddler books out there! Good for ages 6 months and up I'd say.
