UPDATE Several hundreds of hours later of playing Splatoon, BoTW, and Animal Crossing, the Joycon joystick replacements are still working great. We haven't had any drift issues since, so still quite happy with the purchase! I love my Nintendo Switch, but boy, are their controllers prone to drift. I’ve sent my Joy Cons to Nintendo directly for fixing once and was disappointed to find the drift issue come back about a year later. Because my options were limited to “buy new OEM controllers for $80” (if in stock), “buy knockoff”, or “try fixing myself”, I opted for trying to fix my two controllers myself because I was likely to throw out the controllers anyways and I had nothing to lose. The Starko Joystick Replacement Joysticks was the solution to my “Link walking off a cliff” problem. The kit comes with just the joysticks you'd need to replace on your joycons. You will need to get a small Phillips head screwdriver, a Tri-Wing screwdriver, and a pair of angled tweezers to easily replace the joysticks. Also missing are instructions and skill, but because the interior of the Joy Cons vary, you’re better off looking at online videos anyways. As for skill, you will need a steady hand and I will warn you - if you can’t thread a needle with a thread without flipping out, you may just want to pay someone else to do this for you. It took less than 10 minutes to change out a single joystick, and after reconnecting to the Switch and calibrating, it worked great. The joysticks feel exactly like the OEM controllers and move smoothly without any lag or weird movement. For less than $5 a joystick, this was an absolute steal in comparison to buying a new controller. Overall, if you are done raging over your gaming losses and have a steady hand, the Starko joysticks are worth installing.

Jaoystii joycon drift replacement worked great for me, first try no issues at all. Been a few months since I replaced the top left joycon in my blue controller (viewing the included images and video), still works flawlessly. I only used one joycon of the four, and did not use any of the screws. For the reviewer that mention the joycon is stiffer I would agree, but I have newer controllers and they are also stiffer, it is due to being new and not used and broken in. Regardless you don’t notice it, it does not affect the movement. As you can see from the images, the tops are identical to my switch, but the bottoms have a different stamp some extra holes and the color of the data cable is different. None of that makes a difference. The drift became so bad playing Tears Of The Kingdom, I decided to try this. I could no longer clean it or add backing to the joycon or bend the back in. With the new joycon I can climb a tree or cliff and no longer walk off when not touching the joycon. For me it works great! Very happy with this cheap but very effective replacement for $13 bucks. Only recommendation I would have for the vendor is a package of two controllers AND the plastic controller housing. I have unscrewed the plastic housing multiple times through the years of cleaning the joycon and adding backing to it, in order to stop the drift, I partially cracked one. Still works fine but one screw does not hold the housing together as tight as the others. Just a suggestion. Great not having drift in the joycon.

Great replacement product. Saved me a bunch of money in joycons and works well. Play often with these replacement parts. I would buy again and recommend to others to use these replacements.

Solid budget fix for Joy-Con drift. This 4-pack is a great value—enough parts to repair multiple controllers or keep backups. The sticks work well once installed and noticeably improve responsiveness and eliminate drift. Installation isn’t “plug-and-play.” It takes patience and a steady hand, especially with the small screws and ribbon cables. My first one took about 45 minutes, but it gets easier after that. A YouTube guide definitely helps. Build quality is decent—not quite the same feel as original Nintendo sticks, but close enough for everyday gaming. And it got rid of the dreaded drift. Pros: great value, fixes drift, includes extras Cons: install can be tricky Overall, worth it if you’re comfortable doing a DIY repair and want to save money.

So, I like leaving honest reviews on the electronics I buy. As of today there doesn't seem to be any problems with it and it works pretty well. At first I was slightly concerned with the flex cable being an Opaque blue, similarly these have black power rails on the component, whereas the OEM joystick's flex cable is more transparent and the metallic power rails are clearly visibly metallic. They have a similar tensile strength it feels so be careful not to tear the flex cable! Also they have the same length and turning point as the OEM part. Furthermore, you will notice that instead of these having a flat bottom face to the component, there is a slight extruded grid pattern, I have no idea why this would be, however when these things break down and I have to replace them again I will write another review if I can, to show a dissection of the component. So far it works pretty well. I cannot complain. I have yet to run a comprehensive set of diagnostic tests on the components since I still have to replace the joystick for 5 more joycons and it is pretty difficult to get some of these flex cables back in with my meaty fingers. I would note that with electronic components like these, due to its high rate of manufacture; in other words, these come in batches of +100 joysticks when they're made, there is a considerable probability that there are some "dud" components. So it's not best to simply judge the product as a whole but if it were me I would get a refund or replacement order.

7/13/20: If your Nintendo Switch controllers are suffering from drift, then these thumb sticks are an excellent solution. I purchased my Switch back in 2017 shortly after it’s release date and my left JoyCon began to show signs of drift within months. I had my JoyCon “repaired” twice after it started showing signs of drift, but Nintendo’s repair service failed to fix the problem, just like countless others who have experienced the same problem. I then purchased replacement joycons but they eventually suffered the same fate. I tried all of Nintendo’s troubleshooting techniques but none of them worked. Last week, I had almost decided to purchase another replacement controller but then thought maybe replacing the thumbstick might be worth a shot. Disassembling a JoyCon is no easy feat, but if you have the time and are very precise, it can be done. I’ve disassembled a JoyCon a few times so the process took me maximum 30min. The new thumbstick works like brand new! I didn’t even have to recalibrate The thumbstick but I did anyway and so far it works great. It’s 99% identical to Nintendo’s thumbstick. The groove where your thumb sits is slightly lower, which actually feels more comfortable then the original thumbstick. My order even came with rubber thumbstick covers and they fit perfectly! I’ve tried a few different covers and they all hindered the thumb sticks movement, but not the ones that came with my purchase. I will update my review if anything happens after this, so here’s to hoping the new sticks last for a while. I don’t mind replacing them later with the extra thumbstick that came with my order because the process, for me, was very easy. I am very relieved and happy with my purchase!

I read many reviews on this product that were talking about how 1) the product couldn't be installed because the connector was too thick, and 2) they couldn't get the stick to calibrate on a specific version of the switch OS. I just received and installed the joystick today. It's not the easiest thing in the world to install. You need a special screwdriver made specifically for nintendo systems that is not included. I already had one of these from working on DS'es in the past. Nintendo has been using these same tri-screws for years. the screwdrivers are readily available. As for the issue about plug thickness. I didn't find it to be a problem. Yes, it's thicker than the original. But it slots in just fine and made a solid connection. You don't have to try to peel a layer off, or anything. One thing people often miss on these types of electronics is that there's a little lever-latch on the slot. you'll see a little flap on the opposite side of the socket from where you insert the tab. That has to be lifted up or the tab won't insert all the way. People miss this because you don't have to pull it up to get the old one out, but you DO have to lift it to get a new one to go in. My guess is this is what people are missing when they say it won't fit. For the other issue: My switch is running the latest OS firmware as of the date of this posting and it calibrated just fine. No issues. It DID need to be calibrated though. So if you see people talking about how it drifts right out of the box, they maybe didn't run the calibration, or ran it incorrectly. Looks and feels pretty much exactly like the original. I haven't used it much yet so I can't say too much about performance or longevity. Given that the originals were pretty much crap, it can't be too much worse. Worst case it took me about 15 minutes to replace this, I'll put another one in down the road. These joycons are massively overpriced, so I certainly didn't want to spend 80 dollars replacing a set because of one bad thumb stick.

I replaced two sticks about a year and a half ago, one is still going strong the other developed a lot of play and lost it's ability to act as a button when pressed down. That said, the one that failed does get a lot of use/abuse so I'm not too concerned as they are inexpensive. Used the last two and they're working great, going to pick up another 4 pack to have on hand. Didn't use the included screws as mine are still in great shape, recommend picking up some quality drivers and use firm enough pressure to keep them from camming out right as you snug them down. The cable is a little longer than stock but works/fits fine, let it do a gentle bend but don't crease them or they'll snap, sometimes easier to insert and lock the cable before fully seating the stick.

These thumbsticks worked well upon install. No calibration needed, no drift, appears to work as well as OEM. Could have done without the thumbcaps they packed in with the product in order to save a few bucks, but these sorts of replacement products are always looking to "add value" as an excuse to shovel off useless accessories. I will update the review if anything catastrophic happens over the next few months...but for now I'm satisfied.
