Good book, but need to write small
Love the content and short descriptions that don't overwhelm my ADHD kiddo. But the space they give to write is not enough. I wish they widened their print margins.

Looking for a good tutoring book on essay writing?
I purchased this book to tutor a rising 10th grader who was not motivated to raise her writing skills to proficient level. It was a winner! The lessons began at a level that began with the most basic writing skills. The lesson objectives were simply stated with several strategies to work through enabling the student to master and understand the skill through various presentations. The skills were clearly connected and built on each other. The lessons were short enough, even for the most challenged students lacking academic stamina. I had a career in education for 32 years and I do recommend this book. You will love it and your student will appreciate the pacing and expectations of this book.

Essential for young writers
At the end of sixth grade, my son was struggling to be able to write a five paragraph essay. I was honestly a little bit upset with his school for not teaching him a basic breakdown like this book offers. We did this workbook over the summer together and I can now say that in seventh grade his writing has improved tenfold. This is a great guide and the tools this book offers are essential for young writers. This is the foundation of writing that cannot be skipped.

Excellent breakdown of essay writing!!
I got this as summer practice for my 14-year-old autistic son. He is extremely step-by-step. He's an excellent student and very bright but struggles horribly with writing essays. Part of the problem with essay writing is that the assignments are often ambiguous - something that does not work well for most autistic people. This book breaks everything down into concrete steps. I love how the author explains how really any topic can be approached with the same steps. And even with all of this information, the book is brief and easy to read. I have my son go through 3 to 6 pages a day and we're working our way up to him writing a couple of essays before summer's end. He says he feels more prepared. Even if he's still struggles when it comes to actually writing essays again, I know that we will be able to go back to this book and break down the steps for him at any time. Thank you so much!!

Aid to explain the basics of essay writing
I’m only 20 pages or so in to this book and it’s brilliant so far! I can understand why is only got 2 reviews. This provides a parent ( or kid)with the bare bones or what a essay requires, step by step, which is what I needed to explain in detail to my son who has HF autism. I really wish there was software or an app for this, which would be amazing for a kid to take control themselves. I’ll update when finished book!

Highly recommended for both teachers and students. It explains all the steps thoroughly so you can do it without the help of the teacher.

A must for going back to school late in life!
I’m going back to college at 49 years old, and my essay/literary analysis writing skills are DUSTY. If you use this template, the way it is meant to be and thoroughly… Don’t cut corners… You’ll likely walk with a massively beautiful high grade.
