BLACK+DECKER 8-Cup Food Processor, Black, FP1700B

I read other reviews saying it was loud, and it is, but honestly, the best food processor I've used. Works just as well as the $100 & $200 models but is way more affordable. I abused this poor machine: I used to make 100 wedding favors for our wedding (homemade nutella, which if you haven't made is rough on a processor). It worked great and is still going strong.

I was looking for a no frills food processor that was nothing more than a food chopper, and this was it. I had gone through 2 food processors in 2 years, and usually it was because something went wrong with a fancy attachment, something I really didn't need. So I went looking for something that was strong, but basic. This only has an on/off switch, but it does the job. It comes with the standard chopping blade and a reversible blade for shredding or slicing. The only thing I would like to have had, was a bigger bowl, but that's not really problem. It very easy to clean.

As I believe other reviewers have noted, this is not a water-tight food processor. However, it works great for heavier sauces and solid foods. If you hold the lid down tightly, you can do thinner sauces with minimal leakage (remember to put the tamper in too...). I make chopped salads, flours, and sliced veggies without any trouble. There are only two people in my house, so the size is perfect. If I were cooking for three or more, it might be a bit small. Note that this is not a high-powered processor. Sauces will not be the creamy smooth they are on your favorite food blogs or in cookbooks. They will be edible, but not great. This is a processor for chopping and combining solid foods; sauces are a risk you'll take yourself. (Specifically, I've made several cashew-based, vegan sauces with unimpressive results.) For the price, this is a great addition to an amateur kitchen.

I use this more than my blender. It's great. It came quickly, it works properly, it's easy to clean. I use it to chop veggies, I've tried to use it to make pie dough. You have to have SUPER cold hard butter for that to work, which I didn't know. My fault there. But it works wonderfully for making banana ice cream.

This has an exterior piece that sets under the bowl to rotate the blade inside the bowl. It is difficult to set exactly correct so the teeth line up and it will rotate. Mine fused together while trying to chop an onion that had already been quartered! You really have to fumble around with setting the bowl in place to get it to work. I have sent mine back. Also, there is only an on/off switch and a pulse; no other settings. If you notice in the picture, the loading tube is placed on the back of the unit and not in the front. This is only personal preference, but it is just another less than user friendly feature.

This is a decent food processor for a decent price. It will by no means blow you away, but it gets most jobs done fairly well. I do have some complaints, however. - The shape of the bowl really sucks for chopping things up like nuts or vegetables, as the steep grade of the sides keeps stuff trapped up top for too long. Leads to uneven piece size. - It's super loud. I understand they need to be loud to have enough power to chop through tougher foods, but this thing is borderline too loud to have inside at times. - The lid has an annoying catch in the top near the feed-tube where a 1/2 cm gap is between the feed-tube and the wall of the lid. All this does is get clogged with stuff when I'm grating (particularly cheese). It's hard to clean stuff out of there, and happens every time without fail. - The plastic bits on the grating wheel aren't really sturdy. I'm not sure how, but we broke part of the flywheel off of the grating plate pretty early on. We were able to repair, but was disappointed. All in all, this is a fair to middling machine, for the price I doubt you could beat it, but it leaves much to be desired. If you're in need of a machine you won't use often, this will certainly work; but for a daily driver I'd definitely spend more money.

I read several reviews before I decided on this product and noticed many remarked on how loud this was. I did not find that to be true. Very easy to operate, clean and store. There is a space under the motor to store the cord so that it is out of the way. This is the first food processor I have owned that did not come with a plastic blade in addition to the steel blade. I wish it had one but hopefully the steel blade will work for making pie crusts and some cookie recipes I have. Only had this product about a month so if any problems arise I will be back to list them. Otherwise I like it a lot.

I SO wanted to love this food processor! I read reviews that mentioned it was loud, but I thought I could love with it, considering the price. Perhaps if it was better at what it's supposed to do, I could overlook the noise. But it takes a long time and then can't seem to get past a certain level. For example, mashed cauliflower. Not exactly a difficult item to puree, right? But the B&D couldn't get it smooth. Very disappointed - am going to return

Un producto muy satisfactorio, el primero nos duró unos 10 años, todavía lo tenemos funcionando, pero ya no durará mucho. Y el segundo, este, lo compramos para reemplazar el que ya no durará.

Excelente artículo, comparto un comentario que leí antes de comprarlo decía que era muy difícil de limpiar algunos puntos donde se queda alimento.... me gustaría del producto que tuvierauna caja donde guardar las cuchillas, porque son muy filosas. La entrega me sorprendió lo pedí el 29 y el 31 ya lo tenía en casa..
