One of the best
Amazing stuff. Looks better than epoxy with very low VOC, easy to apply once you get the hang of it, easy to repair, some self-healing ability. Use a sealer first, especially on soft woods, or you'll have to use way too much of this expensive product.

Fabulous
Used this on our kitchen island butcher block counter top. It went on great and has held up great. Gives the wood a bit of an amber color and the satin sheen is gorgeous. We have had zero issues with food or water stains, and the clean up is simple. We went with the Water based finish due to this being in our kitchen. Odor was minimal. Very pleased. We have had this finish now for about 10 months. Based with two coats of the universal tung oil sealer.

Great finish!!!
This product is amazing. If you have done wood finishing in the past and never used this, it's not like most finishes and needs some time to get used to. I have been using it to finish interior doors and cabinets. This product is incredibly forgiving on application and very durable. I could not be more impressed. If you are a hobbyist and looking to finish a project, this is the stuff for you. Visit their website and be sure to read the application directions and follow them strictly. The picture attached is a knotty alder door with 4 coats of semi-gloss applied with a foam brush.

Followed the steps. Looks awesome!
I did a slab of butcher block. 120 grit to finish sanding. Two coats of tung oil. Three coats of H2OLox Gloss finish. (They recommend two, but I am glad I did three. It smoothed out the wood texture more and looks great. Three coats may not work with the matte.) I did the butcher block in the garage. I would imagine following all the steps on a whole wood floor is more challenging, but the finish looks great on my acacia wood countertop. I don't know about over time; it's only been a few months, and it's light-duty use. But it gets looks of admiration, especially when the skylight falls on the shiny wood grain.

Waterlox products will leave you dissatisfied
I greatly regret investing in Waterlox products. The Universal Tung Oil Sealer will make your butcher block counter tops look horrific (see attached photos). The Outer finish product has a viscosity almost of water. The instructions stated one gallon would cover 500 square feet so I purchased considerably more product than I would ever need in my life time. A gallon of this garbage would probable cover 5000 square feet. Because I'm committed to using the product now I'm putting on ten or more coats and having to wait 24 hours in between. Part of their selling point is that it is food safe. No one eats directly off of their counter tops; people use these things called plates. We have an actual free standing butcher block that we cut vegetables and meat on where it matters and we oil that. For just regular counter tops I think people are better off just going with No Tung Oil and just using a thick viscosity oil based polyurethane, which would then be only one ore two coats. The videos on youtube are probably from the company.

Best wood countertop sealer!
This product is simply the best. I put the coats of sealer plus their tung oil on this mesquite slab, and it's just perfect! Since this slab is going in a bathroom for a countertop, I needed to be SURE it was definitely sealed. Their other dealer product requires you to use a respirator when applying, the H2OLox does not. Since we needed to seal it inside (it's monsoon season where I live) this fits the bill. I can't say enough good things about how it turned out!

Easy to apply, doesn't mix well with mineral spirits
I applied this over top of UTOS on maple butcher block countertops. The application is super easy but it is very thin, so pour out a little at a time. My issue was either the mineral spirits had not dried completely or did not evaporated entirely prior to applying the H20lox, despite more than an hour wait. When I began to apply the coating, the surface appeared blotchy and it began to form puddles. Without much time to research remedies, I opted to quickly grab a clean rag. I wiped off the material I had used to cover the countertop, making sure to turn the rag so I didn't leave any residue, dust, etc. I then reapplied the H20lox using the paint/stain pad. It covered well, did not puddle or blotch up and dried as it was supposed to do. The surface dried & cured well for the first coat, second is undergoing that process as I type. I was glad I began on the underside first, so I have a better understanding of what to expect on the "finished" side.

Buy this great product
This is my second purchase. Very pleased! This product is easy to apply (search for videos on the web) and get a great result! I have applied polyurethane several times in the past and this is much easier by far. It dries clear with no smell in the house (Iโm using it to finish a butcherblock island in my kitchen). The bubbles in it go away on their own if you apply it according to those videos. It dries to the touch in 24 hours and cures/hardens within a week or so to give you a great result.
