Capezio Canvas Dance Sneaker

Great dance shoe, very comfortable and supportive.

I have not danced in these yet but I can tell they will be great. A nice balance of support but really flexible split shoe style. True to street size shoe. Not slippery on any floors I tried. Great for classes as well as every day- like running through airports! Compared to many other split shoe brands I trust Capezio & they’re not as pricey as others.

Bottom line: sizing for dance shoes is very subjective & you should be aware of how YOU like your dance shoes to fit before trusting other reviews. I usually wear a 7.5 in street shoes, occasionally a 7 and usually a 7 fits but I like the 7.5 better. Ibought these shoes for irish dance & I ordered an 8 and they fit great. I have wide toe box, and a high arch, and this fits both nicely. I prefer a snug fit for my dance shoes (my irish dance shoes are 3.5 soft/ghillie & 4.5 hard/jig) and I think I could have gotten away with the 7.5 in these as well. If you want these to fit like your street shoes (room/not tight in the toe box)--go at least half size up but no more than a full size. If you like your dance shoes snug, you can order these true to size or at most a half size up. I notice a lot of these reviews seem to be from people with very wide feet/ankles, this is not the case for me. On my first use I find I like the balance of being able to turn & not sliding too much--seems others do not have this experience, I think it depends on what you want them for. If you want super grippy shoes, these are not it. The synthetic sole is somewhat firm & I think they need to be softer for grip. I can move easily without fear of falling. Cannot speak to durability yet.

I am a dance instructor and needed a pair of dance sneakers for teaching so my feet don’t get sore from hours of teaching in jazz or ballet shoes. It recommended to go up a half size but I did not feel this was needed. I wear a size 9 in sneakers and bought a 9.5. I could have easily bought a 9 and they would have fit perfectly. I have wide feet and the width fit nicely. Arch support is great. They allow for pointing the foot nicely. These are perfect for pirouettes and turns as they allow for less grip than regular tennis shoes. I wore these to perform a finale in our recital and they were so comfortable and function great on a stage. They are canvas so they do get hot if worn for long periods of time. Most dance sneakers are hideous but I chose these as they were not too bulky or flashy, and they look great on! All in all a great dance shoe! My coworker ended up ordering the same pair after trying mine out!

Super great show.. well made. But very tight and hurt my feet. I would suggest going at least one whole size larger if not more. And I have narrow feet and these still killed! Has to return.

Excellent fit! Former professional dancer here. I’ve always trusted Capezio dance shoes for all my dance classes, rehearsals and gym workouts. Even though I’m a normal size 7.5 N, I always go down a size. I prefer snug fit. Because after wearing for awhile they expand. I ordered the size 7 N. Perfect snug fit for me. Always a trusted brand

Takes a little bit to get used to them, but once you get the hang of wearing them, they can be helpful in classes like Body Jam which has spinning moves. Just be sure when to ease up on some moves because these shoes don't have much traction like a running or walking shoe. But the spinning moves you can do way easier in these shoes and takes pressure off your calves just enough for you to get through your work out. I'm 5'4'' and about 280 lbs....and these worked for me. It's not just for skinny girls in case you heavier ladies are wondering if it's just for those cookie cutter athletes you see working out in a gym with nothing but short shorts and a sports bra that never sweat. I did follow another person's review about going up half a size because the shoes don't run wide, they run a bit narrow. I went up a whole size because my feet are large. They look narrow until I stand up on them and they get wide. Plus, I'm flat footed. Matter of fact, I wore them to my first day of work today in an office, full time shift. They felt fine to me.

Like many people out there, I was having trouble with foot pain going to Zumba but wasn't ready to give it up. I take Zumba classes twice a week which is followed up by a strength/weight training class (I don't have the time to change into regular sneakers) and they've done well for me there too. Outside of these two classes, I don't wear them for anything else. I bought these about a month ago and they have been perfect for me. I don't get blisters or pains in my feet anymore and can do my pivots and turns so much more easily now! Words of advice - scuff up the soles a little when you first get them so that you have just enough traction, otherwise you'll be sliding all over the place when you do quick runs across the dance studio! Also, many have mentioned that the sizing is small so I ordered my usual 6.5 and then a size up to 7. I returned the 7's as they didn't provide enough foot control within the shoes (imagine pointing your toes and not being able to bend them as far as you're capable). I ended up keeping the 6.5's - within a few classes, they broke in and have become my new babies.

These are really comfortable and lightweight on my feet when dancing. I dance a lot of bachata and salsa and needed shoes with less grip to be able to spin properly. Tried these in my dance class and they were perfect for spinning and also gave support to my high instep. Only downside is the tongue on the right shoe digs in a bit on my foot but I can cut it down a bit and this should hopefully prevent it from happening.
